Whiskifiss ponders his severed paw 'I think that my adventuring days are over. Tk-Tk. I think that it was worth it to get rid of Hellion though. It has been an honor to be a member of your gang. You have done a great service for all the free people of Scrapwall. sniff-sniff." He bows low.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Whiskifiss peers out at the quiet night. "No one will dare threaten us now. Tk-Tk. I must go find my sister and my people. You will leave Scrapwall?"

As they near Kricker waiting at the open door of Kulgara's room, Whiskifiss shoves Perrik ahead of him and yells, "Now, Jeji! Before robot gets through the hall! BLOW IT UP!!"

Jeji- all the Cylex = 18d6 bludge and 18d6 fire

Whiskifiss looks horror stricken at Perrik's self destructive actions. "Jeji, take the detonator! TK! Follow Kricker! I will help Perrik! Tk-Tk!"

The kobold's ratfolk ally, jumps back from the crumpling door and hurries back to check on Perrik. Tk-Tk. Is the clay set? Tk. Hurry, please. Something else is coming!"

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

The maimed ratling nods and uses his remaining hand to dig out an ignition cap and the detonator. "Tk-Tk. Stick this plug in the clay and stick the clay some place that looks important. We can set it off from outside the room with this controller!"

As the Kulgara steps forward to attack Kricker, Whiskifiss stops cradling his stump and tumbles behind her. acro: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13 It is a clumsy attempt what with the ratling missing a paw. Kulgara grabs Whiskifiss and attempts to hold him as a living shield.

Kricker-apparently not, but both are grappled and suffer a dex penalty. action?

motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Whiskifiss seems more interested sniffing at a pot of Dinvaya's 'biofuel' than the conversation around him. He startles at Kricker's announcement. "TK-TK. We're going back now?"

Whiskifiss wrinkles his nose at the pit, "Pit Bad. Tk-Tk. Take the stairs down." He helps the kobolds gather gear as they prepare to leave.

Whiskifiss "TK"s excitedly after the kobolds quickly take down the spy-BOT. "If we are lucky maybe that was the only guard," he syas and quickly follows Kricker with the other kobolds and the Mecha-Wyvern behind him. Behind the platform is the locked access door, but Whiskifiss quickly pulls out a gray card found on the dead men in the haunted canyon and taps a panel so that the door slides open. Beyond is the trash-filled atrium and the door to the stairway down. Whiskifiss again opens the door and the warband once again descends to the Temple of Hellion.

Whiskifiss, who refrained from the hug is the first to react and drawing and loading his cross bow quickly, releases a bolt at the flying bug. 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 10 - 1 = 16damage: 1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 2 = 4 but the bolt glances off the machine's metal shell.

"Ragmen?"

"They are small, Tk-Tk. Like us, but really creepy. They stay in the lowest level of Hellion's Domain hiding in the dark. I don't really know what they are like other than that they cover themselves in smelly clothes and rags. Tk."

"That sounds like a good plan, Kricker. Tk-Tk!"

Whiskifiss jumps when a nearby scrap pile rattles as the mecha-wyvern begins to reassemble. He shakes his head and tugs a whisker as he thinks. "Anyone left who supports Hellion has retreated into his sanctuary. Tk. They will not be lured out any time soon, but maybe if we move quickly, we may be able to catch Nalakai in the Temple alone. Kulgara will stay in the lower level with Hellion and the ragmen. Tk-Tk."

" Who else remains in the Lords of Rust?

Whiskifiss answers Kricker's question. "You said that Nalakai the priest escaped and then there's Kulgara. Tk-tk!" The ratman shivers. "And the remainder of Hellion's followers and Hellion also!TK!"

"Draigs! Tk-Tk! She's a giant mutant with two heads and she has a huge chain she smashes people with! TK!"

hellooo?

Whiskifiss sighs at the blank stares around him. "Well, I used to be one of Hellion's Thralls. Tk-Tk. I know the upper level pretty well. The only way I saw in or out was through the Arena entrance. Hellion won't come out, but we could try to lure some of his followers out and maybe cut down their numbers. Or i could get us past the door and we could try to take them by surprise. Tk."

Tk-Tk. Many left Hellion when you killed Helskarg, but some remain within the temple. If we break the outside screens in the arena, Hellion cannot appear in them anymore, but I have never seen Him leave the temple otherwise. Tk. Maybe we can further deplete his Thralls if we lure them into traps as you say. There are many narrow gulches in the Scrapwall or even old lairs to trap them."

You all know Scrapwall almost as well as Whiskifiss now. The area map is on ROll20.

Whiskifiss shakes his head, "Few of the followers of Hellion are humans. Tk. There are orcs and a few ratfolk. Some small dark people that lurk in shadows and the ones with long arms the reach out and try to strangle enemies. And BOTS, too. Most of the place is dark except for the glowing screens where Hellion appears. Tk-Tk."

"You know the Hermit, right? Tk-Tk. We are not far. Maybe she might let us stay for a little while. At least so you can rest and we can make new plans."

The ratling also looks up before nodding at the kobolds excitedly. "Tk-Tk. I heard Him. He said you betrayed Him. I knew you would never join them, he whispers. "My sister has come to expect the worst. She has returned to the lair and they are making ready to move somewhere else so that you cannot find them.
