Jester shakes his head slightly at the off aim shot. Must be panicked here...not expecting us. Time to give Orphie a hand here. That Axeman can wait... Easing his Centurion on a slow walk he heads to a patch of rough terrain he stops and targets the Hatchetman and lets loose a barrage of missiles followed immediately by the *CRACK* of his autocannon.

Base 1 + [2 (range) + 1 (walk) + 1 (cover)] - 1 TacComp = TN: 4, 3 for missiles (Artemis)]

LRM 10: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 Hit.
LB 10 X: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 Hit.

Location (LRM 1): 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11 5 to LA
Location (LRM 1): 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7 5 to CT
Location (LB 10 X): 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6 10 to RT

HEAT: 1 (walk) +2 (LRM) +4 (LB) = 7 - 10 (heat sink) = 0

+++ Good luck with that. +++ Jester responds curtly, +++ Covered in armor, gotta pound 'em hard. Also I wouldn't go dancing with them. They can cut you in half, then you will need salvage! +++

+++ If you two need some private time, I am sure Orphie and I can take 'em... +++ Jester's voice has just the barest hint of amusement.

+++ Good plan. We'll hold up 5 klicks short and see what's out there. +++

+++Roger that Cypher.+++ Jester grunts in acknowledgement, steering his 'mech to the desired coordinates.

+++ Welcome to the party Viper. Plenty of fun for you left to have still. +++

Jester watches the scene unfold before him, even his jaded senses impressed by the speed of the scout mech's demolishment. Still his veteran experiences told him there was more...much more...shortly.

+++ OKay gents. You've had your fun. Now the work begins. Their buddies are still out there. Time to go hunting. +++

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Works for me Viper. I assume Orpheus is targeting the Valkyrie.

Jester shakes his head at the antics of Angel here, though he had to admit they were quite effective. Not usually piloting a jumping 'mech he still well knew the devastation a DFA attack could be!

Tying into the targetting systems of Orpheus he paints the APC and checks to be sure the Cluster rounds are selected As he walks forward into view he glances around just to make sure no surprises awaited the lance before he opens fire.

Walk 6 hexes. LB 10-X/AC, Short (C3), walk, Cover: TN 5: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3 Missed...Crap.

Heat: 2+3(walk)+2(LB 10x)-10-3 = 0

+++ Copy that Wraith, Good hunting. +++

Jester bides his time here, even as he raises his arm targeting the APC with his cannon, ready to switch to the more effective cluster rounds once he punches through the armor

+++ Copy, I have mop-up duty. +++

Jester stands by watching on his Tactical display as the scout mechs approach closer. Finger on the trigger of his AC...but waiting for the right moment to strike.

Leadership: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7
Tactics: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9

Jester keys his com in a short burst comm. +++ Take cover...wait fer 'em to come to us. +++

Great... Jester grunts to himself, More fancy tech to break down at the worst possible time...What is with this threat? Why would I WANT to do such a thing? Leave that fer the 'techs!

++ "Copy that. Ready to move Team?" ++

BLD save, TN 5: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6) = 12 (9 total.)

Jester settles into his couch for once thankful of the soft cushions here. Must be gettin' old now. Mebbe time to thin of jumping ship...find a nice quite planet to retire to...raise some cattle, who knows...this jump iz goona be a messy one...

Feeling the blood flowing away from his brain he quickly shifts positions here to keep him from blacking out, then settles in for what looks to be a rough landing...

Pilot check, TN 5: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7

While not a thing of beauty (he would leave that kind of stuff to Wraith) it got the job done.

Yes Viper, but your job here is the most important :)

Jester looks over the map. He stabs a finger at the point where the GP scouts and infantry is grouped together. Point A. "We take 'em out first. That will blind 'em, give us the edge here. We have surprise over 'em, let's use it."

"Already taken care of rookie!" Jester flashes a toothy grin as he leaves to prepare for the hot drop.

Jester decides to go with a silhouette of a clown face on his 'Mech...with a wide smile :)

My condolences on your loss Orpheus.

"Plenty of targets to shoot at Miss Wraith," Jester grunts in reply, "The right target...that is tough. I wanna know who these unknowns are here and why they showed up when they did. Looks like that Wasp will come in handy after all," he grins at Viper.

"Right sweetheart," Jester, who had been silent throughout the briefing, pipes up. "The question is...WHICH side." He spits anout wad of juice on the deck before rubbing it clean with the heel of his boot. "I wanna know more of who would decide to jump in on the side of the Clanners. Could be a rival sect of the Falcons, or mebbe another Clan here...one of those Warden possibly." He turns to the techs onboard. "How good are you at breaking that encryption code?"

"Yeah, playin' dumb a good plan fer now. Seems like we are bein' played here but who is pullin' the strings." Jester grunts and hawks a loogie on the grav-deck. "Easy to do, but the trick is surviving the experience!"

Interrogation, TN 6: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8

After spending some time 'casually' chatting with the various crew members Jester feels the sense of unease growing.

Everyone's got their fingers in this pie...this must be really important to badn together like this. I can't imagine ComStar would go along with this...unless they are the ones behind this...

Jester takes in the updated situation with his customary stoicism, yet deep down he could not help but feel the situation was no longer in Frau's control. While he was not convinced Cypher was the one pulling the strings here, he knew someone else was.

Gotta keep my mouth shut and don't make waves here...need to find out who we ACTUALLY are working for!

Jester grunts at the news of the Clan presence. "Clanners die, jes' like the rest of us do. Just need to be careful, that's all."

Actually was going to have Jester take up that backup medic role, unless Gunner wants to do it.

That works for me Orpheus.

"You heard the man!" Jester barks to the others, "We will finish this later, Cypher. Strap in." He then moves to his own strap-seat, ready for the next leg of their journey.

Jester glances at the text and grunts, "Like I said Mister Cypher, Frau is gonna live. Still you want to have the Doc look her over is fine."

"It's gonna take more than pretty words to convince me Cypher." Jester slowly withdraws his hand away from his own holster and motions for the guards to do the same. "Frau will live. Now start by telling us what you know about what we're hunting for."

Making a mental note to give McCoy a share of the whisky he saved during the meeting earlier, Jester turns to look at the bodyguard pointedly, daring him to cause trouble here.

Kyle can handle the blonde...maybe...we need answers here not trouble!

+++ Play dumb for now.+++ Jester responds curtly. +++ HE ain't shown us all his cards yet.+++

Jester looks up from the others a grim look on his face. "She is stable fer now. Never seen anything like this before. No drug I ever heard of." He slaps his fist into the palm of his hand, "I'll bet Cypher knows...and we ain't gonna like the answer."

Jester's eyes narrow as he watches Frau struggle to maintain her composure. Something's not right here...

As she stumbles to the ground a bolt of realization hits him and he shoves Wraith aside, none too gently.

"She's been drugged! Outta the way!" Jester quickly grabs a medkit here and inserts a needle into her vein. "Gotta get her to vomit here!"

Medtech: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12

Jester had been listening to Cypher's speech, an unimpressed look on his face as he outlines the supposed opposition they would face. As Hoffen responds Jester gives her a subtle nod here.

Styles himself the Devil, does he? Now he gets to live by his words.

Jester digs into his food with a gusto as it had been a long time since he had enjoyed such fare. His whisky though was barely touched. He grunts noncommittally to Cypher's words but seems content to hold his tongue for the moment.

DM Dickie:

Jester reads the text message and simply grunts in acknowledgement as he returns her gaze. He types in reply Got it. U Owe me fer the drink

Jester smirks, Couldn't have happened to a nicer officer!"

That cannon nearly jammed on me when I last fired it! Whatablowhard.

Perception: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6

Jester glances quickly at Hoffen before his gaze passes over the bodyguard then back to the waitress, "Steak, bloody, and potato with butter. Veggies are good. Whiskey to wash it down."

As he settles into his chair he decides to observe the Devil in operation here, feeling a bit naked here after being passed over during the man's spiel.

Jester, having been part of quite a few drops in those pods in his younger days, simply rolls his eyes as he gets himself strapped in.

I was just glad to land in one piece!

Jester listens to the spiel from Frau, nodding shortly once she has finished. "Understood. We're the muscle. Play it by ear. Walk the line." He spits out the last of his cigar before standing up, "I'll bet Orph still lookin' for his 'Mech!" He sniggers softly.

"Depends on who is enforcin' the laws sweetheart." Jester nochalantly puffs on his cigar, blowing a smoke cloud above him. "Best to tread lightly, for starters."

Jester hear the message from their boss and reacts with long-practiced ease. Making sure his personals are stowed away he grabs his duffel bag and hustles down to the 'Mech bay. Seeing Heinrich waiting for him he gives the man a nod, "Hurry up and wait right?"

Actually I don't think it is a good idea to sell/scrap the Wasp, as we do need a scout 'mech. Maybe instead of upgrading the weapons we work on upgrading the Sensor package on the Wasp. Thoughts?

"Sounds to me like the CyBulls bit off a tad more than they can handle here. Ya wonder how they go those fancy 'mechs, not ta mention the Shrek," Jester chomps on the end of his cigar to emphasize his point, "Now I think we know the answer. God thing we didn't bring 'em aboard...she would be on OUR arse now!"

Jester grunts noncommittally in reply to Ling. "Ya, get 'er reloaded and patched up. Shouldn't take you long."

'Mech handled well for a new upgrade, 'cept for the stumble at the end. Mebbe the 'scope needs adjusting?

When he sees his handiwork of the 'Wasp he shakes his head in amusement. "Can ye slap another leg on 'er?"

+++ He wants to withdraw from the field.+++ Jester reminded the others how the RoE worked. +++ That means he keeps his 'Mech, and we get the salvage. I am OK with that. Not sure we need a wildcard here.+++

Once done with his spiel he turns his attention back to the Rifleman watching it closely to see how the pilot will react to the offer.

+++Understood.+++

Jester switchs from the encrypted channel to a broadcast speaker emanating from the cockpit. He trains his autocannon on the lone Rifleman here while moving behind a partially collapsed building.

"I give you one chance. Stand down."

Walk 3 hexes closer, take cover.

Atta Girl...

Jester knows he needs to keep the Rifleman busy here so he angles his path parallel and eschewing cover so as to present an inviting target. 10 hexes away.

Take the bait... He mutters to himself as he opens fire with his autocannon. At that time his 'mech stumbles as his legs hits a loose rockpile here. It's all he can do to maintain control as his volley goes wide.

"DAMNSIT!"

LB 10-X/AC, Medium, walk, TN 7: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2

Heat: 2+3(walk)+2(LB 10x)-10 = 0

Jester catches the intent of Wraith here and decides to try drawing the attention of both hostiles, as he kicks in his fusion generator and tracks a course zigzagging along the rough terrain.

RUN 9 hexes at an angle towards the Rifleman. No cover taken. Should place him about 10 hexes from the Rifleman.
HEAT: 12(move) - 10 Heat Sink = 2 HEAT.

Jester nearly has to yank his comm headset off due ti the sudden panic coming from Wraith over the net. "Easy, LEFtenant! You know how to handle it, now do it!" His reply is curt and he switches off before she can respond.

Seeing the Wasp as neutralized for the moment he focuses his attention on the remaining two targets. Taking heed of the warning of artillery on the field he darts over to the left before making a jinking move to the opposite side increasing the pace of his 'mech as he looks for a another large bern to take cover behind. As he gets closer into range his autocannon screams forth a blister of shells that pepper the Rifleman...

Walk 6 hexes. Take Cover
Fire LB 10-X/AC at Rifleman, long: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9
HEAT: 6(move) + 2(LB10X) = 8 - 10 Heat Sink = 0 HEAT

Jester flicks the safety off his fire control system, arming all his weapons. Seeing his readouts all in the green he urges his Centurion 'mech onto the broken and littered path.

So far so good...now comes the fun part... he thinks as he brings the targeting computer on line, the Artemis FC feeding him up to date firing solutions. THAT will take some getting used to...

As he heads towards a low berm, the only suitable cover near by he waits until he is just inside the maximum range of his missiles...pressing the firing trigger here a plume of white-hot exhaust gasses plume from the back of his 'Mech as the missiles streak towards the Wasp...

Walk 5 hexes. Turn 1 hex. Take Cover.
Fire LRM round targetting the Wasp. Artemis FC: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 6) + 1 = 12 (21 hex distance)
HEAT: 6(move) + 4(LRM) = 10 - 10 Heat Sink = 0 HEAT

I just saw this game pop back up on my active Campaign page here. Is this game back on?

PS: If not then DM Dickie can you mark this game as Inactive please?

Jester grunts in displeasure when the enemy 'mechs make their appearance on his sensor readout. Feels like back in the day, gettin' those useless intel briefings...what a joke...

**Roger that sweetheart. R-man is main target** He acknowledges curtly before studying the tech readout of the 'mech.

Hmmm...he is heavier...yet I have mobility on 'im and range with me missiles. Whoever is in the cockpit must be a leader of this clown show. Gotta be a way to draw 'im out of there...

**Orpheus, let's draw the R-man's attention here...target the Wasp first...see what he does here.**

DM Dickie: Are we using the Roll20 map now?
