Pure sandbox is hard to do anywhere. On PBP it's even harder as you don't get the little clues about the world.

I don't mind rails.

She danced her way out of bed and started getting ready. Life was pretty good. She slept well, she had a good handle on her classes, we didn't just have a maniac tearing up the city and she just might be on her way to getting a boyfriend. Pretty much nothing was going to stop her today. Dancing was the only option.

As she stepped into the kitchen, Lyssie was waiting for the coffee to brew with a late-night cram session hangover. "Rrrmvng" said the primitive pre-verbal creature. "Good Morning, Sweetie-pie!" she beamed back. Alex was slumped at the table, "The perky, it buuurrrrns!" and he tried to shield himself from the ball of energy grabbing a bottle of guava-mango smoothie.

Twenty minutes later, she was stepping up on the bus and texting. Hey Jase, ya wanna hang out later? We're doing postmidterm drinks later. My friends want to meet the big star I've been struck by.

Green Ronin's M&M2e FAQ wrote:

Does Immunity (fatigue) allow you to use extra effort without suffering fatigue?
No. The character is just immune to fatigue from normal exertion and fatigue-inducing powers and effects. Keep in
mind that Immunity effectively provides automatic success on a saving throw or ability check to resist an effect, and
there is no such save against the fatigue of extra effort.

...

Can constructs use extra effort? Do they suffer fatigue from doing so?
Yes and yes. Construct characters can use extra effort, much like some Devices. The “fatigue” they suffer has the same
effect as fatigue does on other characters, but in the case of constructs it represents damage or wear-and-tear on the
construct. Since constructs have no Constitution, they cannot recover from fatigue, they must be repaired instead.
Constructs with a recovery bonus—such as self-repairing constructs with Regeneration—can recover from fatigue
normally. Like all characters, constructs can spend hero points to ignore the effects of a fatigue result.

Do not put defenses in an array.

When you put defenses in an array, you are saying "I don't need to be PL9 all the time. I'm willing to be sub-par when I want to use some of my powers."

What's worse is that you cannot be PL9 offensively and defensively at the same time.

And some of your attacks are pointless against real foes. Your palm blasters are sort of pointless. You almost get up to PL damage is you hit by 5+

I think you're going to have to put some attacks in an array with your robo-control.

While you're interpretation of reaction is interesting, I would say damage as a reaction has an attack roll. Aura specifically says no, yours relies on a long chain of logic to get there. I'd add a drawback to say it doesn't work when stunned and bingo.

-----

As for mighty, ultimate power explains. If you only use basic attacks, one point, gets you your strength modifier. But if your attack is ore expensive, you need to buy extra stuff.

ultimate power wrote:

Mighty: Damage effects with this power feat stack with

your normal Strength damage, allowing you to apply your muscle-power to enhance the effect. One rank of the Mighty feat is sufficient for a touch range Damage effect to stack with Strength (which is also touch range). For a normal range Damage effect, each rank of Mighty allows 1 point of Strength damage bonus to stack with the effect. So a character with +4 unarmed damage needs Mighty 4 to add his entire Str bonus to his ranged Damage effect. For perception range Damage effects, every 2 ranks of Mighty allow 1 point of Strength damage bonus to stack. Strength over the amount allowed by the Mighty power feat rank doesn’t stack and doesn’t apply to the effect. The GM should decide on a case-by-case basis if ranged or perception Mighty feats are appropriate.

Since autofire is a +1 extra, you need to buy like ranged.

I'm still playing with the crunch. Right now, my concept is that he was the child of a burglar, a small-time hood. He learned some of the ricks, but was caught young. He spent time in juvie and came out trying to change to go straight.

In this new life, he was beginning to straighten everything out. New Job, parole, a girlfriend. Until the day of the light. He saw the flash and was paralyzed. He knows he was moved and then it all went into a strange state of consciousness. Eventually he escaped. He's not sure how because he doesn't understand where he was. When he awoke, he was different.

Running on walls, falling up, punching with enhanced power, throwing with extra power, messing with people's balance if they get too close. That king of thing.

The backstory is that he was a small-time criminal experimented on by somebody. He's not sure if it's a government, or an agency, or a super-genius, or aliens. He escaped, but this makes him want to stay small-scale. He figures that super-powered friends will help him out.

Whaddaya think?

Yes, I switched it. Normally absorption is toughness mixed with reactive healing. Having your defenses in a multipower is bad news. To meet PL you have to have lower defense when you aren't using it.

Making it healing with reactive and the limitation that it's based on the level of the energy attack gives you the healing effect of absorption when you want it while leaving your toughness alone when you don't.

Freaky Friday

Jason smiles at her "No worries, it happens. Trust me, I get struck by how many people come see me. I mean, I'm not a doctor, or anyone important, just a guy that can sing, and you all spend money and time to see me? I'm just glad I can entertain you for a while." He takes the pen and program, and looks back at her with a crooked grin, "Who am I making this out to?"

"It's Jess. Jessica Richardson. I used to go by Jessie when I was younger, but now I need to be more serious, ya know? The water bill isn't going to pay itself."

Once he gets the answer he signs it with a small personalization, and then looks up with a semi frown, "Did you feel that? Felt like rain. Seeing no clouds, he places an arm on her shoulder and moves her away from the side of the building, handing back the program and pen. "Let's move away from the side of the building. Must be sprinklers, or some sort of cleaning going on on the roof."

She slips the program into her bag, turning so the hand on her shoulder is a little bit around her. "Okay, there's this café down the street that's open late. You're probably hungry - I mean you put everything into your performance back there. You were dripping with sweat during that final number." Meanwhile the tiny drops keep randomly dropping on him even as they step away from the building.

Inside she's trying to stay in character, and keep from busting out in laughter. It was a little cruel, but oh so funny.

Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 I took a -4 for the water references.

If you're thinking teleporter, then I'll do Wisp instead of Quantum Cat. Wisp probably works better in a street-level game. Qcat is more of a mainstream guy.

Saturday was movie day. It was Alex's turn and so they were going to see Angry Alex: Chaos Highway when her brain buzzed. The trailers had just finished and the production company logos were rolling when she leaned over and whispered she had to go.

Moments later, she called in *Waveform on my way*
