So... is Hell's Vengeance Hell's Rebels' sequel, with the players' goal being to clean up the mess the heroes caused in the previous one and crush Kintargo's rebellion? ![]()
![]() So... do we get an Aroden deity article in Song of Silver? With obediences, described planar servants and the like? Or is it just theories about his death? Also, only following Paizocon from a country away, is the announced Hell's Vengeance adventure path going to draw inspiration from the Way of the Wicked? Because that's the first thing I thought of upon reading it's an evil adventure path with Hell inspiration. ![]()
![]() Having read the genie binder prestige class, I do have some questions about it. Can a creature like a Glabrezu or Efreet grant wishes under the effect of charm/compulsion? If he gets to make the wish, does the charm/compulsion forces him to grant the wish the way the controller wants or does the wishgranter has enough control to make it backfire? Also, do Div count as genies and their items genie made for the purpose of the genie binder's prestige class? ![]()
![]() How do the Aboleth see Mengkare's "utopia"? I ask because it looks like he's doing EXACTLY the same thing they did with Azlant, breeding and uplifting humans, except openly and more "benevolently". How would Mengkare react if he realized someone else already tried what he's doing... and that it failed spectacularly? Also, why did Aboleth select humans for their experimentation instead of say, goblins or other primitive creatures? What were the parameters that led them to this choice? ![]()
![]() Hello, I have got quite a few questions. Was Abraxas' cult developed in Azlant and Thassilion? How did he and Lissala get along, considering their focus on snakes and magic? How do Nethys and Abraxas see one another? Between Nurgal, Zura, and quite a few others, it seemed demon lord worship was quite popular in Azlant. Was it another Aboleth experiment? Or just the result of Azlant's decay and hubris? Who do you think are the most likely current owners of the book of the damned's different parts in Pathfinder's universe? I get the feeling Abraxas probably has the demon copy and Asmodeus/Charon the others, but I would like to know your opinion on it. It is possible to get a Qlippoth familiar if one is chaotic evil in Pathfinder, and one loyal. Considering Qlippoth are, well, genocidal, why would one willingly serve a mortal? Which region/country of Golarion would you like to develop the most in the future? If you saw it, what was your opinion on Fury Road? ![]()
![]() How do Qlippoth react to worshipers of Rovagug? Do those worshipers get a charisma penalty when trying to bind them like everyone else, or can they recruit Qlippoth like worshipers of Asmodeus or Lamashtu recruit devils and demons? It is mentioned in the book of the damned Pazuzu is recruiting allies, including from other plans like Hell and Abaddon, to fight Lamastu. We already know many of Lamashtu's allies (like Baphomet, the goblin hero gods, and quite a few nascent demon lords), but which are the big supporters of Pazuzu? ![]()

Thank you for your answers. Ah, I see. Without spoiling, does it have anything to do with the Misbegotten Prince and both demon lords' interest in Varisia and Sandpoint? Also, I had forgotten to ask two questions: I've been trying to create a custom bad guy for an adventure, and I was wondered, can an antipaladin worship (and draw power from) the Abyss itself or does it have to worship a deity/demon lord in order to get powers? And finally, can someone have both a Lilitu's profane pact and a succubus' profane gift at the same time? I ask because the Lilitu's definition says it works like a profane gift except for a few things, and both abilities are pretty similar. ![]()
![]() Hello, I have noticed Lamashtu's deific obedience and the associated powers are different from her demonic obedience. So, does it mean it is legal for a (probably fanatical) worshiper of Lamashtu to get both obedience and the benefit of both? Would he have to do both rituals each day to maintain them, or simply one is enough? Also, I would like to ask, considering Nocticula and Desna both got away with killing demon lords, why didn't Lamashtu destroy Pazuzu personally? What is her plan to get rid of him (and vice versa)? ![]()
![]() Thank you for your previous answers. After reading demon revisited I had a few questions about the shadow demon (or more precisely, the half shadow demon template), and the possession powers. Since you were heavily involved in the book I thought you might be the best person to ask for. Since the half-shadow demon gets magic jar as a spell like ability, does it mean he doesn't need a gem to possess someone? Where goes the person's soul then? And what happens to the half shadow demon's body? If the half-shadow demon turns incorporeal, does it means like the Shadow Demon his body 'vanishes' as long as he possesses a victim? Does being half-shadow demon is enough to take the improved possession feat, or does he must still take the demonic possession feat first? I ask because since the template already gives magic jar ability the latter seems a bit redundant. Does magic jar works on mindless creatures like animals, constructs or oozes? If not, then would it work on an awakened mindless creature or would it still fail? Does magic jar/possession works against undead (both intelligent or not)? If possession of undead or mindless creatures is possible, does the resulting host keeps immunity to mind affecting affects or does he becomes vulnerable to them? Finally, is possession/magic jar considered a mind-affecting effect? Can creatures that resist mind-affecting effects (like the tarrasque) be taken over or not if the caster overcomes the spell resistance? ![]()
![]() I'm not sure, but from what I read from the current Giantslayer volumes, Volstug has an orb of red dragonkind, aka he can dominate red dragons. That alone would make him more powerful than Mokmurian. If you want to include Mokmurian, you could either have him as one of the giants who swore fealty to the Storm Tyrant (after all, he did swore fealty to Karzoug). Mokmurian would make a nice vice-BBEG, as Volstug's second in command and adviser. Alternatively, you could have Mokmurian be a rival to Volstug, trying to wrestle control of his army for himself in an 'evil versus evil' situation. In that case, he could make a valuable (if treacherous) ally of the PC. If you don't want to include him, simply say in the background his stone giants have refused to join Volstug, much to the latter fury's. Just suggestions of course. ![]()
![]() Thank you for your answers. Why haven't you tried to publish some of your unpublished work? Do you even intend to publish some of them one day? If you were to give an antipaladin code for Nocticula what would be the main tenets? How do Demodands and Qlippoth see one another? Do the latter hate them just as much as demons or do they simply ignore them? If a mythic character dies and is turned into an outsider, does he becomes a mythic version of that same outsider? Or does he becomes a completely unique being like an empyreal lord or something? Finally, speaking of Way of the Wicked, may I ask where are with the story? I've purchased it and it looks quite fun. ![]()
![]() After reading Iron Gods, I have been wondering... is Unity's name a Fallout easter egg? Where do dead gods go? For example if Aroden has been judged, then does it mean his godly petitioner can be found on Axis? How do you rate the Runelords on the evilness scale from "power hungry wizard" to "absolute monster"? The relics are Kazavon are all needed to revive the Wyrm, but each has a specific method of destruction. Does it mean if one is destroyed, then Kazavon can never be revived? Finally, if you were to do a time traveling AP, which I have read won't happen, what periods/events do you believe would give the best roleplaying opportunities? ![]()
![]() Hello, Mr Jacobs, Well, godling IS actually used in "mythic origins" to designate the child of a deity. So yes, if Nocticula were to have a child, hypothetically how would she treat him/her? How do Kytons view devils, since they spent some time imprisoned in hell? If you were to give an obedience and associated boons to Treerazer and Shamira, what would they be? I dunno, the idea of a demonic cultist with vaguely dinosaur-like powers sounds fabulous. What are Mhar and Xhamen-Dor's CR and method of immortality (like how the other great ones of the bestiary 4 each have a method to cheat death)? When a worshiper of Rovagug dies and joins him in its cage, are they all destroyed by their deity? Or does it recycle them into spawns? Are the Qlippoth even aware Rovagug is one of them? Is it homicidal toward them as well? ![]()
![]() Thank you your answer... but I need more! 1) does any of the demon lords shown yet is a "demonic success story", aka a human soul that climbed the ladder all the way from larva to demon lord through sheer determination? If so, which one? 2) if Nocticula were to have a godling, how would she likely treat him/her exactly, especially in the context of the Wrath of the Righteous campaign? With indifference? As a tool? 3) which evil deity/demigod, in your opinion, would likely treat their godling somewhat... well, not abusively? 4) what is Lamashtu opinion on Deskari, considering he is the spawn of her greatest enemy? 5) could an entity like an empyreal lord, demon lord or archdevil gain an herald? (without stealing one, of course...) Would it be weaker than the herald of a true deity? 6) can a deity have multiple heralds? 7) can a thanatotic titan turn into a demon lord and eventually grant spells to worshipers? ![]()
![]() First post on this forum ever. First of all, I would like to thank you Mr Jacobs, because reading the Pathfinder adventure paths got me into tabletop RPG and caused me to subscribe to this site. After buying and reading some of the setting's books, I'm really glad I did. I've got a few questions for roleplay/lore after reading various books. Please pardon me if they have been answered already (considering the length of this thread I believe it would take me weeks to find them). 1) how does Pharasma view the Rakshasas and their reincarnations? Do their fiendish reincarnation means they avoid judgement until the mechanism is disrupted? 2) do Elder Gods like Nodens exist in the Pathfinder universe? Are there for example cults devoted to Nodens on Golarion? And if so, how does Desna view them, since they both oppose Great Old Ones and Outer Gods? 3) how do (in general) outsiders view sorcerers with their blood and who achieved their capstone, aka becoming such an outsider in all but name? For example, would devils see a 20th level Infernal Sorcerer as a fellow spawn of hell and be relatively well-disposed toward him/her? 4) since Qlippoths want demons gone, do some of them recruit, assist or supply mortals with an interest in demon slaying? Whoever is the victor, it would be a win for them. 5) you said Pharasma was the oldest entity in the great beyond, so does this mean she was always the judge of the dead? Or did she simply propose the current system and was chosen for the role? 6) hypothetically, if Pharasma were to be "killed" what would be the consequences for the setting? Would someone be selected by the other gods to replace her? Or can she even be killed at all? |
