As I mentioned, I'm okay with theater of the mind now that I'm aware of the rules by which we're playing. I already have a token setup, but it sounds like that route is going to be too much.

It's alright. Like I said, I don't want to bog things down any more than it has been. "Close, medium, far" range as been established and, now that it has, we're on the same page.
We can continue, I was just expressing my confusion since I had not realized we were playing that way. I don't want to turn the game into a slog, especially over this.
I understand not having the time to do a full battlemap, definitely. I suppose I just wasn'te prepared for what was left in the quotations. As a player, I'm very rules oriented. When I plan things out, it's in 5 foot increments and I've been playing that way for so long that it's ingrained and natural for me at this point. When I had Tyrant move forward, I mentioned him staying 10 feet away because my thought process was "Okay, they have her surrounded. If I get close, three could five foot step, I'd be able to transform if any hit me. If they have reach weapons (since we don't know what they're armed with) then they'd have to at least draw them and the two behind them can five foot step and full attack, but then the rest would have to move. Tyrant can probably survive all that." I'm not trying to be a complainer or a spoil sport. It's just not what I was expecting, even in theater of the mind. It's not what I would have had Tyrant do if I had known. Despite that, what's done is already done, and I now know what I know. We'll see if Guiscard will be able to Raise him this turn if he'd still like to try, and we'll go from there. Until then, Tyrant protected the party. That's what mattered.
Nah, the first two orcs that attacked hit Tyrant with full attacks, then a stray one between our turns missed with its two attacks, for a total of 8 full attacks with no movement.
Didn't notice it because I've been mostly playing 2e lately, but how was Tyrant being hit by full attacks by 8 separate orcs? I can understand the first three due to my "within 10 feet" line, but the others should probably have moved first, right? Apologies that it hit me so late. In PF2 rules a Stride - Strike - Strike is perfectly acceptable and if only those first 5 rolls go through, it's a while different ball game since he'd be at 22 hit points after the initial 3 hits. Also, sorry for posting so many times in a row.
I wouldn't mind spending them, but I think we only start with one. I don't think we've gained any extra.
Let's go with this one and if it doesn't work, I'll do something template related. I'll check them out in the meantime.
Well, that's disappointing. Yeah, he's dead even before reverting out of Rage hitpoints. I wouldn't mind seeing what that all entails, though. I don't have access to the materials unless you can link it on d20pfsrd or somewhere else.

Fists of Lightning and Thunder As soon as Tyrant has been hit, Tyrant lets out a primal roar. Dragon Form:
Dragon Form (Su): At 1st level, a dragoner can assume a dragon form. A dragoner can assume a dragon form for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + his Constitution modifier. At each level after 1st, he can assume dragon form for 2 additional rounds. Temporary increases to Constitution, such as those gained from dragon form and spells like dwarf’s endurance, do not increase the total number of rounds that a dragoner can assume dragon form per day. A dragoner can assume a dragon form as a full-round action. Using a full-round action to assume a dragon form does not count towards the number of rounds a dragoner can stay in his dragon form in a day. The dragoner can also assume a dragon form as an immediate action after taking damage from an attack. The total number of rounds of dragon form per day is renewed after resting for 8 hours, although these hours do not need to be consecutive.
When in dragon form, the dragoner becomes a Medium dragon (gaining the dragon type). He gains a +4 size bonus to Strength, a +2 size bonus to Constitution, a +4 natural armor bonus, fly 60 feet (poor), darkvision 60 feet, a breath weapon, and resistance to one element. He also gains one bite (1d8), two claws (1d6), and two wing attacks (1d4). His breath weapon and resistance depend on the type of dragon. He can only use the breath weapon once per day, plus additional times per day when gaining the breath weapon class feature (see below). All breath weapons deal 1d8 points of damage per berserker level and allow a Reflex save (DC 10 + half of the berserker’s level + his Constitution modifier) for half damage. In addition, some of the dragon types grant additional abilities, as noted below. He does not gain any spellcasting, extraordinary, or supernatural abilities from this dragon form. All equipment are melded with his dragon form. Blue Dragon: 60-foot line of water, resist water 20, swim 60 feet, vulnerability to lightning. A dragoner can end his dragon form as a free action and is fatigued after assuming a dragon form for a number of rounds equal to 2 times the number of rounds spent in the dragon form. This fatigue cannot be reduced or mitigated in any way and applies even to normally fatigue-immune characters, but can be cured as normal. A dragoner cannot start a new dragon form while fatigued or exhausted but can otherwise assume a dragon form multiple times during a single encounter or combat. If a dragoner falls unconscious, his dragon form immediately ends, placing him in peril of death. In addition, rage powers or class features work with dragon form. Dragon form does not stack with any other rage effect (such as defensive stance).
Basically Dazzling Display:
Intimidating Transformation (Ex): When entering into a rage, a berserker may roar or brandish his weapons. As a free action as part of entering the rage, he may make an Intimidate check to demoralize all foes within 30 feet who can see or hear his display.
Tyrant's bones twist and scales stretch and, in a split second easily missed simply by blinking, the kobold changes. Where once stood a proud Kobold now stood a true Blue Dragon, staring down at the orcs that dared to strike it with the look of a predator eying its next meal.
Is Giri supposed to go with the orcs or before then this turn?
With his move action, Tyrant will approach to within 10 feet of the closest one, if he can make it. "They're just orcs, kid! Pay attention!" He shouted back to Giri.
Tyrant stared at the demonic creatures in front of them with a hostage. His wings and claws flexed out of excitement. "Finally!" He shouted. His eyes glowed blue as he gathered information.
Kobold will make his way to the stairs, ready to battle whatever this was that caused such mayhem.
Tyrant scowls at the grotesque chandeliers. "What is the point of such decorations? I will never understand softskins and their strange taste in, what was it? Interior decoration, I believe a human called it?" Walking into the entrance hall, Tyrant listened to see if he could hear the screams or any sounds of activity.
"Enough talk. No one cares for the citizens or the community," Tyrant growls. He looks at Mithuth with indifference. "If you are not the cause of the terror then this conversation is pointless unless you want to keep us from getting to the next challenge. I am in a hurry." Tyrant will stride past the others and deeper into the manor.
"If the source of the screams were across the street, what is the meaning of our hallway being trapped?" Tyrant huffed. His arms crossed and, now that he had some room, he stretched his wings. "I am in favor of going over there. Whatever it is, it will undoubtedly be a more satisfying challenge than well hidden quills poking at me." After doing one last sweep for danger, Tyrant will head towards the exit closest to the manor next door.
"If you want to jump out a window, go jump out a window. I'm going down with the scholar." Tyrant will go down the stairs.
"Yes. A small price to pay," Tyrant agreed. He looked at the damaged armoire in front of him. "If you do not agree with my methods, you are welcome to go first. Like the dragon runt." Tyrant will push the armoire as far as he can. If there are stairs the kobold will push it down just in case.
"Bastards!" Tyrant shouts as he's hit by another dart. He'll grab one of the armoires blocking a door and angrily begin pushing it down the hallway in front of him, hoping to trigger the traps with that rather than his body.
"There is no time for talk," Tyrant stated as he began moving. "Someone will pay for this slight." Tyrant will try to take the shortest route to the mayhem as fast as possible.
Tyrant scoffs at Giri's true form. "Dragon," he said with obvious contempt before moving with Guiscard. Normally, he wouldn't entertain orders from others, but he respected this one's knowledge.
"Just you. What is going on?" Tyrant demands, looking around the hallway.
Tyrant scoffed at the door. He checked to make sure it wasn't simply locked, but if it was more than that or if he couldn't open it regardless, he would raise his arm, electricity crackling from scale to scale, and slams it into the door.
If he needs another good Slam, he'll do so. Once free, he'll check his surroundings.
Tyrant grunted as his sleep was disrupted by something screaming. With annoyance, he raised his head to listen for danger. What seemed like the entire building was scrambling to figure out what was going on. "Whatever is out there," Tyrant said to himself. "Better be at least twice my size so that the thud of it hitting the ground is satisfying enough to warrant this rude awakening." Tyrant will leave his room/communal sleeping area to find the source of the ruckus.
"I have no need for a private room. I will insist on a place to bathe,however." Tyrant will grab whatever coin would be required and pay.
I'm willing for whatever. I'm enjoying myself so far, but I understand the importance of moving things along, especially in a PbP.
Tyrant frowns at all of Giri's questions. Instead of answering, he turned to Sieghart, the only other human nearby. "Is this whelpling yours? If it is, perhaps you shouldn't let it walk around freely and speak so much, lest something happens to it.
"Humans are not aerodynamic, either," Tyrant scoffed, stretching his wings out. "The priest would be more likely to allow you access to their manuscripts should you show them this. Unless you give them mind to think you are a thief." However, he turned to the little human, staring down at the child. "That is because it is a human word, not a draconic name. I gave up my birth name when I became an Iejirastrix, a blood seer, for my warren. It is meant as a warning to those who try to challenge me. If I am not above them now, then I will not stop until I am."
"If we shall, we shall, Constant." Tyrant gave a nod of respect to the sailor and let him leave. In his mind, this was a victory. While Reginald had the upper hand in aim, it was he who broke the board. So when it became aware to him that his success gathered him a crowd, he felt proud."It is a trifling thing. The board can be fixed. However," Tyrant looked at the nearest server and picked the winning dart from the ground where it came to rest. "I am keeping this as a spoil of our battle." Without waiting for a yes or no, Tyrant placed a gold piece in that server's hand. He was a warrior, not a thief. The kobold then became immediately distracted by the Time Mage. "It is impressive," Tyrant corrected the boy. "This one must had trained a long time in order to learn these sorts of things. That respect has been earned." He hadn't looked away from the Chronomancy to speak to Giri, but now he obviously addressed Guiscard. "I am Tyrant, from the Molto Warren. Tell me, where did you study to learn this power?"
Noble warrior. That was more like it. "I came to resupply before returning in my search for the next challenge. I'm out to find the biggest threat I can and eviscerate it, absorbing its essence in the process." Tyrant tried his hand at darts again.
His excitement calmed, and his hands no longer shook.
"Very foul tempered as well as extremely aggressive, yes. I have heard of their sea dwelling family. When I was younger, I scoffed at them being a threat with only their teeth, no claws to speak of. But now I realize that is no disadvantage; I could not fight in the water the same way I can in land or in the sky. It was what they were made for. Regardless, I would not mind the challenge some day." Tyrant stepped up to the line and threw his darts.
And scowled. He was getting too excited at the thought of battle.
Tyrant obviously takes offense to being called a Dragonling, but recognized Reginald as a warrior of superior skill. Instead, he puffed up his chest and began his claim. "I once hunted down a Barette single-handedly. It had appeared once before, in my youth, getting too close to our warren. I was not able to slay it then. However, once signs of it began to surface, I took it as a personal challenge." The Kobold crossed his arms and subconsciously began to claw at the bulette armor he wore, reminiscing. "Tracking a Barette through the mountains was not easy. All I had to track were slightly tilted trees, remains of half eaten monsters, and my own gut instinct. After a week of stubborn tracking, I finally found the beast resting not too far from its last meal. Bigger than two horses, with a battle scarred hide that noted its experience." Tyrant began grinning as he remembered the fight. "Due to my wariness of the creature, I admit I started the fight in a sore light. They sensed the slightest vibrations in the ground near them, and thus I soared through the air." He spread his wings out. "I got the first strike in, but the fight was not won with that. No, teeth and flashing claws, like a warrior story of old. We traded blows until it felt sufficiently terrified to try to flee." "I was not in good shape, but I relished it. The moment where I could very well die was right in front of me, and my foe would deprive me of it? No!" Tyrant became very animated. "I had started the fight in a cowardly way, but to flee was worse! I took in that moment, I breathed it in. It fled just as I had when I was a youngling. I chased it down before it could submerge itself in the ground, and I took its life while looking into its eyes. I made sure it knew in its dying moments." Tyrant thumped his chest and yelled, "I AM TYRANT!" The kobold threw his arms and wings upwards, caring not for any disturbance he was making. "Then I skinned it, boiled the leather, and made my armor. I returned... I was victorious, removing the stain of failure from my youth."
"The Gria are a race of winged humanoids distinguished by draconic features and native to the region of Jylland." They're also the only race that can use the Dragoner Berserker class, which turns them into a Dragon when they rage. I was originally going Au Ra, but that looked more Tiefling than Dragonborn.
For the sake of helping out, Tyrant is actually a winged Dragonborn (Gria are basically dragon people in FFD20), but calls himself a Kobold because that's what he was raised by. Thus, he refers to himself as a Kobold despite being almost 7 feet tall and... not a Kobold. Any questions, though, I'm more than happy to help out!
"Constant Reginald Rayburn. Human names are so long," Tyrant claimed. He took his shot, noting with satisfaction their placement on the board. "However, if you wish to compete with me, then I accept." The oversized kobold plucked the darts out of the board before moving to the side, waving Reginald to the line. It was now that he finally took in his competitor for what he was. Overdressed, with a silly hat. Although, a sailor. Tyrant had not yet been to the sea, and despite having left the warren more than most others he knew he was not well traveled. Books told of a body of water so vast that, if you went far enough, you could lose sight of land and become lost in the featureless waves. Unless you knew what you were doing. "A sailor," Tyrant repeated. He wasn't usually one for conversation, especially with those perceived as lesser, but the game loosened his tongue some. "Tell me, then. What is the largest thing you and your ship have slain? I read many tales of savage beasts, but they do not compare to hearing first hand accounts."
Tyrant takes stock of the people in the room. Sizing them up, especially the Dragonborn, and noting their weapons and armor, if any. If they decided to leave their effects in their room, Tyrant would simply deem them fools, not worth battling. Regardless, there were other ways to win. After looking over the room's residents, Tyrant passed by the delicious smelling hog. Wasn't quite done yet. Almost. He headed towards the human entertainment set up. Some of it was strange and foreign to him. Weird tables covered in colored balls, other tables with spinning wheels and smaller balls, and long lanes meant to smash down columns with heavy balls. The humans seemed to have an odd fascination with those. Throwing darts, however, he understood perfectly. A game of skill the Gix back home had picked up in their travels. If there were a free board and darts, Tyrant would not hesitate to step up and practice his aim.
"I will do no such thing," Tyrant responded to Vinexia, watching her movements but being puzzled by them more than anything. "If there will be trouble, I will act accordingly, and I am ready for it. I suggest everyone does the same."
"If this is your land, then you defend it," Tyrant claimed loudly. "It is your right as its owner. If they attack you for that land, and cannot defeat you to take it, then that is a lack of respect. It shouldn't be tolerated. If they start fights that they think they can win, but prove unable to, then their lesson should come fast and bloody." The oversized kobold basically spat it out, speaking as if his view of the world was right regardless of other opinions, and met eyes with those who had said similar things before he spoke. They would be remembered.
Tyrant was tempted to return to the wetlands. He didn't want to share space with these pilgrims for too long when he had planned on getting what was needed and getting out. However, he smelled the air. The moat stunk to high hell, sure, but it had been a long time since he had a chance to bath in something other than the swamp. Although he never trusted when someone touted their wares as both safe and trustworthy, Tyrant nonetheless stepped into Aria's line. After all, if someone tried to shake him down, he'd have to show them what for. Without realizing it, he was grinning, showing off a set of razor sharp teeth.
The patient hunter was one who got its prey. Hours, days, weeks. Those who are strong-willed enough to wait their chosen target often took down their chosen prey. This was what the Gix taught, and what every Gix came to know. Tyrant had thought he personified this patience, this willingness to wait for what he needed. This, however, this frustrated him. Despite being surrounded by those much smaller than him, the humans in line gave him a wide berth. He had looked into their eyes, every one of them who had dared to stare at him in challenge, and thus received a small area all his own. Tyrant had noticed the ones in white armor, whom he had overheard be called the Lions, took particular note of any thing that seemed to cause a disturbance in the line. The kobold had huffed at that. Lions? They looked more like songbirds. Once had had become comfortable in his space, Tyrant stood still with his arms crossed. Waiting. For what? Soft skins showing up at the outpost. Making him wait without reason. Although he looked stoic, one claw was slowly scratching the rough, grating leather of the bulette armor he wore, and his other strummed the string of the longbow he had slung over his shoulder, the only weapon he carried. No one seemed willing to challenge him, thus causing commotion, and thus those Lions deemed his extra attention unwarranted. A shame. A booming voice catches the ears, and Tyrant shifts to look. Beneficent Queen. Galifar. Her Limitless Illumination. Eternal Sun. Words, lost to the oversized kobold. They meant nothing to him, and it did not interest him, until... Eberron, the Dragon of the Earth. Khyber, the Dragon Below. This poorly camouflaged human was yelling about the Progenitor Dragons. The Molto Warren had worshiped Eberron before Tyrant's birth as a winged kobold. His tail twitched in excitement. The change to worshiping Siberys, The Dragon Above, had been swift and was completed long before he came of age. Thus, Khyber was a known enemy even more after the religious shift than it was before. The thoughts of his home saddened Tyrant, but it lasted for a moment before he began actively listening to this human's speech on the dangers of Khyber and its ilk.
Finally added Tyrant's different forms to his page. Thus, I also discovered that I'm missing 4 languages. What would be prudent to take for our region?
