![]() I was hoping I was off the morgue or off to some graves with a shovel, but happy to be with the Triple H squad if that's the better part of valor :-) "I don't plan to be on the public part of the tour - stitched together body parts aren't what I'd call proper investor-chique, yeah?" She pops off a couple appendages and offers them with an open hand. [b]"Take an eye and an ear with you. Try not to get 'em squished though, yeah? I've got spares but it's hard to get a good match." ![]()
![]() Tori stretches about as far as she can manage without popping any stitches, grinning widely as she gives Lord Hathaway a nod. "Thanks Hath, love to travel posh." She thumbs through the expanded files with a sigh. "Still haven't seen a coroner's report worth the name, so I suppose I'd best break in and have a look myself, yeah? Looks like we've at least got where the newest body's being held before it's back to being a resurrectionist." "Not sure I look like big money, but I can shadow you fine. Anything that sticks out on the visit, just give me a shout. Don't need much space to wriggle through, don't need much of a shadow to hide in, neither." ![]()
![]() "So, errm," Tori wriggles in to get a closer look at the files. "Not trying to skive off from a big project, honest, but why is it we feel so certain they're related? One's in a reservoir, only one -a different one- shows any signs of a struggle. All three of them are miles apart too... We have any notion of who the party was for? That Lucky #3 punched her ticket after?" ![]()
![]() Tori saunters into the meeting with a big stretch and an oddly asymmetrical stretch. "Soldier Boy's really gonna make us investigate a few girls who went too wild inna Bahstan Hahbah?" She reaches a hand up towards a vent and an ear inchworms out to plop into her hand for quick reattachment. "Mmm... Not sure I'll be much help till I can get some hands on a body. Was there anything under the first two's fingernails? Any signs of a struggle with them? Even blondes do just drown, so they might not be linked." ![]()
![]() @ Mr. Harker She sees him very much as one of the Olds, and she's very much watching for areas where he slips up - his experience is a challenge rather than a qualification. I think I'd rather not foreground her family connections until they come up though - I'm assuming Shelley didn't publish her Modern Prometheus in a world where Capt. Walton, Mr. Frankenstein, and [Frankenstein] exist, so the connection might not be terribly obvious. Having encountered other revivified creations seems quite likely though - I picture [Adam Frankenstein]* and his direct offshoots as being stronger and tougher than Tori, but not having the Radical Bodily Autonomy or Fleshcrafting Expertise power sets. I could see you credibly going either way on whether Harker assumes she's a being in that same vein, or discovering the shared roots of the different lineages later in the campaign. Also, aside from [Adam Frankenstein] we should definitely get some electricity-powered, groaning, neck bolt Frankensteins running around - my thinking is that they're from [Adam Frankenstein]'s own attempts at creating life, and fill him with as much loathing and frustration as his own creator towards him... *GM, feel free to disagree on this point, but I've always loved the idea of the Creature taking that name for himself. There's even a *** @Sekhmet thoughts on the initial meet and eat? ![]()
![]() Egyptology maybe? If you want to capture a slightly old school vibe, while also maintaining the archaeological bent? As for a few rapid fire initial character impressions: Loves Hathaway's toys, eggs him on in splurging on the silly and spectacular. I like the idea of a little rivalry with Sekhmet (possibly starting with temporary dismemberment) Harker and The Mummy's Bride (aka The Olds) are probably folk that she doesn't have a ton of immediate affinity for, and certainly doesn't mind disturbing their equilibrium. I'm not totally certain re: Griffin, but his idealism seems like something that she would snark at while actually respecting. I think she gets along with Ms. Hyde better than with Henrietta. @GM (or if folk want to peek) The Waltons: I figure that after encountering Victor Frankenstein and The Creature, Robert Walton returned from the arctic and either became a monster hunter, or pursued Victor's experiments. ![]()

I'm envisioning Tori as a much more recent recruit than that, probably joining up no earlier than 2020. She's Gen-Z (could the walking corpse not be?). Her whole ship of Theseus body starts because of congenital issues rather than aging (even though she won't ever really need to age). She'd have been a bit of a delinquent about things (not like, exclusively purely victimless crimes, particularly if you object to grave robbing, though donated cadavers are her preference), especially once all her replacements and improvements had tipped her over into becoming the Auto-Frankenstein, so she probably got Looked Into by the Regiment and then everyone involved preferred recruiting her to researching a proper way to get rid of her. Dunno if there's anyone who wants to have been the main voice in favor of bringing her on board, or the main voice against/who needed the most convincing, but that could be fun. (Or Sekhmet could have been hunting her, which brought both of them to the team's attention?) She sticks with the team partially out of basic press-ganging, but it's also a very welcome bit of direction in a life that she's starting to realize probably won't ever fit back in the lines. *** Session 0 Lines/Veils stuff. That all sounds good - I plan on a bit of body horror topics what with the autonomous body parts and travel-by-tendon, and Linda Blair-style movements, but my intended tone isn't gory. I think Tori will be a bit of a casual flirt, but I'll make sure to leave The Bride out of it unless I think there's enough there-there to warrant making a pitch to Quaker. |
