I am playing a druid currently and I have a Roc for my animal companion. I am level 6 and don't find myself feeling like a lesser character in anyway. My animal companion is the tankiest one in the group often having an AC of 28 and that is only with Barkskin and no other defensive buffs. My druid uses produce flame and flameblade to devastating effect. Touch AC attacks all day long. When I wildshape I out damage everyone but our barbarian but that is all he can do. While I do like most of a druid's spells, I do concede that compared to a cleric or a wizard their spells tend to be not as good.
What my group has done with death is that the person who died rolls a d6+adventure deck number. They banish that many cards at random from their deck. They then get to draw from the box appropriate cards so they still have all the cards they are supposed to in their deck. They can only get cards that are AD-2 to replace the ones they lost. This lets them still keep the same character and there is some penalty for death, but they don't have to start a character from scratch or keep a second character running. Obviously this will not work in organized play.
I would venture to guess that Mummy's Mask will probably be a GENCON release, similar to the original ROTRL. That will give them 4 full months to push the Season of Runelords along with the app from Obsidian. Then at GENCON which is a huge event, release Mummy's Mask and my guess is when online multiplayer may be a goal for the Pathfinder Adventure app assuming good sales of add on material.
I was on the winning team (Aaron) and I can tell you it was a blast. You had to deal with not only the time of the blessing deck, but also a real life time constraint that got less and less as the 3 rounds progressed. Decks were made of cards from all 3 sets including some cards from Wrath that have yet to be released. You never knew what to expect when you explored. |
