![]() I'm of the opinion that spells are far too reliable in Pathfinder. Save or suck simply isn't fun, and being able to have it successfully work more often than not, means it isn't fun most of the time. Combat just got tweaked so that attackers are hitting less often, and they are generally going to put out less attacks. Why should offensive magic be anywhere near as reliable in this same situation? ![]()

![]() Looks like Monk and Investigator thus far? I'm leaning storyteller medium or magus kapenia dancer to fit the themes and try to compliment some. (I have a number of other options, but thinking about it, I'm going to throw out blood kineticist and blind priest as options, due to the likelihood of bloodless and incorporeal enemies in what I assume is an undead heavy adventure.) ![]()
![]() Khafra and Quazel go about destroying the eggs, having no problems doing so before any more hatch giant centipedes. Ingrge peeks into the next room seeing an expansive warehouse. The purple ooze spreads over more than 100 feet of wall, pulsating rhythmically. A large fly-like insect buzzes over the purple goo, probing it's probiscus into some kind of objects cocooned in the substance. A man in yellow boots and covered in the familiar ooze watches the fly from nearby. ![]()

![]() Galahad charges into the larger birds Big enough for weapons that feed on the dead goblin, cutting into one and leaving it dead. Around you, dozens upon dozens of birds take to the air, taunting Galahad with their caws and swirling about menacingly. The birds closest to the goblin, not wanting to give up on their meal, instead ready to swarm about Galahad, obviously more aggressive and bloodthirsty than normal birds. You may all still take surprise round actions, you are only fighting 6, now 5 birds, as the others swarm high in the air. ![]()

![]() Manus gets a good look ahead, and sees Galahad striding forward. Crowes leer at you from every direction. Rocks on every nearby hilltop and branches of every tree seem to house more or the black birds. Your ears are filled by the sounds of cawing in every direction as Galahad heads towards a group of the birds on the ground feasting on the body of a dead goblin. Map is updated. Birds on trees are 15+ feet up in the air, and the two cliff faces you can see are 15' of climbing to ascend them. If you choose to engage, you all can have a surprise round before initiative. Have fun. :) ![]()

![]() Manus moves slightly closer to get a better view, but stays within the forested cover. A large clearing in the forest, apparently damaged by fire during the goblinblood war lies littered with remains, mostly likely dating back to a battle in that war. A pulsating mass of purplish-black sludge lies along the floor near the southern wall between the two doors, and long filaments anchor the substance to the walls and ceiling. ![]() Ingrge finds humanoid tracks leading into the warehouse. Looks as something was dragged inside, possibly numerous somethings. The slightly ajar doors are the southern double doors. Even with them being slightly ajar, you can't really see in them with the purple sludge that is covering not only the doorway, but seems to be seeping through the building along about a 40' section of the wall. The northern door where the spiders came from has much less purple sludge on it, although it seems someone had purposely put the spiders in the sludge. ![]()

![]() We are always learning. I just failed an audit this weekend, which is double embarrassing for a VC. To make it worse, the character is level 15! It's been through 4 other audits by VO's. It's been discussed with a higher up. And this is the first time this came up. Kudos to the GM, easily fixed, but should have been caught a long time ago. We all get to learn no matter how long we've been doing this. ![]()
![]() Ingrge just finally got clear. He was surprised in addition to being behind in initiative. 1d8 ⇒ 3 Truddig splashes fire on both Ingrge and the spiders, raising several blisters on the half-elf but seemingly having no effect whatsoever on the spiders that cover him. This seems to spur him into action however as he finally moves away from the swarm and wipes as many spiders as he can off of himself. Both Quazel and Khafra unleash their acid flasks at the swarm and while Quazel misses his mark barely splashing the bugs, Kharfa gets a direct hit for maximum effect, dispersing the creatures. 1d2 ⇒ 1 COMBAT OVER

![]() The Katroomie lowers itself lower then tastes it. "Ah and excellent tribute indeed. I will allow you to pass through my domain. The goblins are at the edge of the forest where it meets the mountains. They have a fortress on a cliff there. If you follow the river, it will lead you right to them. However, there is an old battlefield. You can hear the crows for a ways before you reach it. You should avoid that, though the river passes there. Something has happened to the crows, and the only thing worse than a murder of crows is a murder of giant demon crows."
