Okay I understand and I do agree with you. Thoss probably fits in better with one of the earlier eras here so I will respectfully bow out.

Still interested!

Okay I am currently working on Thoss's background, still a work in progress but I am working on it little by little. Think he will be a Lieutenant at this time. Let me know what you think Lapyd!

Male Andorian

Like Captain Reeves says I also felt we were struggling to maintain momentum here. It is probably for the best to stop pushing it along.

Thanks for running this campaign GMST, it was certainly quite interesting! Hope to run across you all here again soon!

Male Andorian

I agree with this and have no problems with any of your suggestions. If you create a new PC to be the XO then Lance can go back to being Science Officer (NPC). Another alternative is to promote Thoss to XO and create a helmsman to take over his current role.

I say we have Captain Reeves chime in, but ultimately it is GMST's call.

Male Andorian

"Acknowledged, Captain. Watch your back." Thoss closes the channel with a note of frustration. "Transporter room, keep a constant lock on the Away team, should they try to raise shields get them out of there, understood?" He then settles back in the command chair to wait...

Male Andorian

Thoss silently complies with the Captain's orders here, powering down the tractor beam yet keeping the Valiant ready to respond should the Atlantis decide to respond in force.

Male Andorian

Before the captain can return the message Thoss responds, "While our shuelds could easily withstand their weapons, doing so may cause the truth of their situation to surface. Recommend we agree to their terms...for now."

Male Andorian

Sorry, been a week from hell for me.

Thoss immediately brings up the shields as the Valiant goes to Yellow alert. "Sir, they are locking weapons on us! Raising shields!"

Once the shields are raised he calls up the tactical charts on the Atlantis.

Male Andorian

"Aye, Sir." Thoss smoothly maneuvers the Valiant into tractor beam range and engages it, setting a course at half-impulse for the planet.

See if I can generate some Momentum here...

Control+Conn(14), Focus Helm: 3d20 ⇒ (8, 4, 6) = 18 4 Successes.

Male Andorian

"Sir, one option we have here is to leave the crew on one of these planets, like T'Karra said," Thoss offers, "however that is a long term solution. Since we need to evacuate the Atlantis may I suggest we place them on the planet we discovered the shuttle on for now."

Male Andorian

Point of order: Did the Temporal Prime Directive exist during the TMP era?

Male Andorian

I find it interesting that all records concerning the Atlantis were lost when they disappeared. So I would have to go with Captain Reeves here, as any records of what they did are not available...unless those records were expunged for some reason.

Male Andorian

"Mister Kreskin, see if you can transfer the Atlantis navigational logs to the Helm controls. I can then extrapolate their ship movements to determine where they first entered the wormhole."

Male Andorian

Thoss turns to the Captain here, "Finding the other aperature of the wormhole would be the best option here Sir."

Male Andorian

Botting Lance here...

Reason+Science(15); ship's temporal signature: 3d20 ⇒ (19, 20, 18) = 57 (Testing a Theory)
Ship Sensors+Science(15): 1d20 ⇒ 11
Technical Expertise re-roll the 20: 1d20 ⇒ 5 3 Successes.

Reason+Science(15); ship repairs: 3d20 ⇒ (14, 8, 4) = 26 (Testing a Theory)
Ship Sensors+Science(15): 1d20 ⇒ 8 5 Successes.

"Scanning now Captain..." Lance leans over the Science console and studies the instrument carefully before compiling the results here.

Male Andorian

"I am not certain they would trust an Andorian any more than a human but I will certainly participate in this endeavor." Thoss replies.

Male Andorian

Thoss proceeds to gently pull the Atlantis out of the wormhole's opening, mindful of the strains on both ships here.

Control+Conn(14), Focus Helm: 3d20 ⇒ (8, 5, 18) = 31
Ship Assist(12): 1d20 ⇒ 15 Three Successes.

Male Andorian

"Aye Sir!" Thoss exclaims as he struggles to keep the Valiant under control.

Daring+Conn(15), Focus Helm: 3d20 ⇒ (5, 14, 18) = 37
Engines+Conn(13): 1d20 ⇒ 14
3 Successes.

Male Andorian

Daring+Conn(15), Focus Helm: 3d20 ⇒ (11, 16, 6) = 33
Engines+Conn(15): 1d20 ⇒ 18
2 Successes.

Thoss is nearly caught off guard by the Science Officer's command and struggles to keep the Valiant clear of the anomalies. Once free of the danger he responds, "Lance could those be what trapped the Atlantis?"

Male Andorian

Control+Conn(14), Helm Focus: 3d20 ⇒ (17, 7, 4) = 28
Ship assist(12): 1d20 ⇒ 7 4 Successes, banking Momentum.

"Aye Sir," Thoss replies as he deftly maneuvers the Valiant to where he judged the safe distance is. "I think we are in the clear Captain. Of course, should we need to mount a rescue here, it will require us maneuvering closer."

Male Andorian

I thought the Captain was getting the latest...briefing from the yeoman who just transferred over from Starbase 343 :P

Male Andorian

"Apparently there is more to this than meets the eye." Thoss comments here, "Recommend we go to yellow alert Captain."

Male Andorian

Thoss turns to Lance, the crew's acting Science Officer, and says "Recommend we try getting some telemetry on that wormhole. While the circumstantial evidence shows it was the cause of the human traveling into the future this also could be an elaborate Romulan deception."

Male Andorian

Forgot the damage roll.
Damage: 7d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 1, 6, 2, 5, 2) = 22

Male Andorian

Thoss waits for the proper timing before he leans around the tree cover and opens fire with his phaser!

Control+Security(12), non-lethal: 2d20 ⇒ (20, 1) = 21 Success, one Complication?

Male Andorian

Guard, Presence+Command(15): 2d20 ⇒ (18, 13) = 31 One success.

Male Andorian

Thoss draws his hand phaser and quickly sprints for cover, "Hold your fire! We are not here to harm you!"

Male Andorian

I vote we have Lance stay aboard the Valiant having the Conn.

Thoss looks up where the Doctor made her startling discovery. "Interesting Doctor, it must be related to that wormhole in some way. Still if your reading is accurate then it is possible there are indeed survivors!"

Male Andorian

"The only energy signature I read is coming from the shuttle-pod itself." Lance replies.

Male Andorian

Considering Thoss's recent rolls I am not so sure this is a good idea...but here goes...

Thoss nods in reply to Reeves order, "Aye sir. Standard orbit."

Control+Conn(14), Focus Helm: 3d20 ⇒ (20, 10, 4) = 34
Ship Assist(12): 1d20 ⇒ 15
Three Successes, one Complication.

Male Andorian

"Definitely worth the risk Captain," Thoss nods, "I can bring her in close giving that wormhole a wide berth."

Male Andorian

Lance looks up with a concerned look on his face. "Captain, my scans reveal a debris field of Romulan origin. Near the crash site is an old Earth shuttlepod. The shuttlepod is intact, functioning in low-power mode. It is transmitting the automated emergency beacon. Also picking up an unstable wormhole 700,000 km from the planet."

Male Andorian

I think Lance is still the Science Officer sooo...

Lance bends over the science station panel, "Initiating sensor scan now Captain..."

Reason+Science(15), Focus Planetary analysis: 3d20 ⇒ (20, 15, 10) = 45
Ship Assist: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Using Technical Expertise to reroll the '20': 1d20 ⇒ 13
5 Successes.

Male Andorian

Thoss takes his position at the helm and verifies the course laid in. "I see no signs of trouble from the Klingons so engaging warp now Sir."

Daring+Conn(15), Focus Helm+Momentum: 4d20 ⇒ (15, 20, 19, 15) = 69
Ship Assist: 1d20 ⇒ 3 Use the second Momentum to cancel the Complication here. That should give 4 Successes.

As the ship safely goes to warp Thoss wonders about what they saw down there on that planet, and the portents it holds.

If this was a PF game Thoss would be loving those rolls he he.

Male Andorian

Thoss gives thanks that the group was safely aboard the Valiant but knows his piloting skills were badly needed on the bridge so he follows the Captain to the bridge.

Male Andorian

Thoss slides into the pilot's seat. "Sir I can do a manual landing of the shuttle. Should not be a problem at all."

Unless the Klingons open fire...

He gently eases the shuttle away from the Bird of Prey and sets a course for the Valiant. "Prepare to open the Shuttle bay doors...we are forgoing the automated docking approach and doing it manual."

Control+Conn(14), Focus Small Craft: 4d20 ⇒ (19, 15, 20, 12) = 66 Spend 1 Momentum to add a die. THAT is not good...

Male Andorian

Seeing the Klingons not receptive to his offer Thoss shrugs and quickly moves to the airlock following Reeves.

Male Andorian

"Now that THAT is taken care of may I suggest we exit the system now?" Thoss addresses the Klingon Captain Purahk, "While I share your desire to destroy this facility now, a better option is to retreat now and bring reinforcements later!" He glances to the helm station, "It will take a skilled helmsman to navigate safely out of the system. Is your helmsman injured? I can man the helm if you wish."

Male Andorian

Thoss quickly glances about him realizing none of the other subjects made it here. Hopefully they made it back to the Valiant. Raising his arms in a non threatening posture he responds in a respectful tone, "Forgive us the intrusion here. We had no control as to where that alien technology transported us. Since you were the last ones to use the transport beam it remembered this destination. We did not have the time to figure out how to change the location."

Control+Presence (20), Focus Diplomacy: 3d20 ⇒ (8, 15, 15) = 38 Three Successes.

Male Andorian

Thoss quickly follows the Doctor into the transport beam.

Male Andorian

Did we get all of the "fascinated" individuals evacuated?

Male Andorian

Thoss grunts in pain, a little surprised the woman had such fight in her. Calling upon his ancient bloodlines he continues to grapple with her...

Fitness+Security (13): 3d20 ⇒ (11, 18, 3) = 32 Use War Studies Value to add a Focus here. Three successes.

...this time managing to get a headlock on her.

Male Andorian

"Lieutenant!" Thoss quickly moves to grapple the Lieutenant feinting her out of position....

Fitness+Security (13): 3d20 ⇒ (18, 17, 8) = 43 Use War Studies Value to add a Focus here. One success.

Male Andorian

Been waiting on Captain Reeves to respond with some orders here. Thoss thinks its best to retreat now.

Male Andorian

"Captain," Thoss exclaims with a note of urgency, "Unless we can figure out how to shut this device down in a next 5 minutes, I suggest we do as it says!"

Male Andorian

Lexington? Don't you mean the Valiant?

Thoss glances over to Garrett waving the Denubian over. "Garrett! This must control the tractor beams holding the two ships! Can you make sense of this?"

I think Reason + Engineering check is appropriate here, which are Thoss' two worst skills. He will instead ready the Aid action here.

Male Andorian

"Yes Sir." Thoss nods as he picks himself up from the floor, "That was commendable of you Lieutenant," he nods in approval to Garrett, "Now take a look over there while I check out this side."

Insight+Security (11): 2d20 ⇒ (17, 8) = 25 one Success.

Male Andorian

"Lieutenant!" Thoss yells as Chara is only seconds from sharing the Romulan's fate. He summons a burst of speed and attempts to tackle her!

What rolls should I make here GM ST?

Male Andorian

"Captain," Thoss's voice rings out in urgency, "This way! An opening was triggered by Chara! We don't have much time!" He sprints towards the opening before it closes...
