Folks, quit taking 10/20 on every check. Dale, this means you. Having my character decide to stand around while you take 20 in game minutes just for 2 checks, well, no, wouldn't happen.

In his normal "Diplomat" voice The Diplomat tells Dale "Hey, bro, we are all right here, speed it up, will you. Just because you are knowledgeable about such things doesn't mean you need to keep the group in the dark."

The Diplomat, unhappy that the group didn't accept the assistance offered and instead went to the Necropolis, shakes his head. "No. We are here because they," he points over his shoulder to the group behind him, "felt it necessary to come here."

The Diplomat takes a step back. "Go for it, you wanted to come here, you guys go ahead and take charge." Clearly pouting.

From a meta perspective, we haven't finished exploring all the other options yet, such as the necropolis, or even this very room to see if we can find tracks or info on the attacker. It's in our interest to fully explore everything to maximise scenario rewards as well as uncover all the story plot items/devices

He steadies himself, gains some composure, and begins to speak slowly "While I Cannot confirm what Dale saw in his other visions, I can confirm that he saw what I saw in mine. What do they mean? I don't know, yet. And, truthfully, I might never know. And, for that matter, what do they have to do with the creature that came from here? But, back to the present, shall we continue on?"

Word of advice to the Diplomat, if you don't feel useful in combat you can always aid another action to +2 hit or +2 AC to other players. :)

He wouldn't think to do that, and I didn't even know you COULD do that. Thanks for letting me know. Good advice. But, unless someone yells out (probably after this fight) for The Diplomat to do SOMETHING, even a distraction to provide those bonuses, he wouldn't do so. His actions for this round stand.

Smart as he is, The Diplomat moves over to the wall and gets out of the way. He knows his lack of accuracy and skill with his crossbow would be more of a hindrance than a help to the group.

Asking people he meets on the way to the site, The Diplomat finds out from the folks that people are very religious and observe many superstitions. They are also reluctant to talk about evil creatures. That being said, he does learn that the most common type of fiend encountered is a div, a creature spawned from a corrupted genie.

The Diplomat, weary from all the walking, quickly sits down and starts to dig into the feast before him.

After reading over the two notes, and hearing the story from the Venture-Captain, The Diplomat asks the following question: "You mention a creature. Did anyone possibly get a description of the thing, or do you have any idea as to what it is?"

You know, I've though of CHA not only as a way to judge how someone speaks, but how they look, act, (smell). You can have high INT or WIS and 7 CHA and still carry on an intelligent conversation, imho. However, you might be a 1 or 2 on the beauty scale, or have bad hygene, or lack tact.

Yes, I can basically auto-succeed at any diplomacy check. BUT, for right now I am VERY bad at combat, and, in the future mediocre at best. Very much a single ability person.
