Would be nice, but I'm playing a low magic campaign. I'll be lucky to get -any- magic item; I definitely wont be able to craft one/have an NPC craft me one.

Good idea for a normal campaign though!

Hmmm. Give up fast movement, but gain 10 ft for wearing light armor. Give up 1 ac (difference between chain shirt and breastplate) but gain 1 ac when 2 enemies are adjacent, and don't lose ac from raging.

And get a rage that wont kill me, plus lets me boost dex? Sounds good to me!

Yeah, that looks like a good stat layout. I know it's practically heresy, but I MIGHT drop down the strength a point to help you have better Dex. Come and Get Me is powerful as it is dangerous. Haha. Good luck on the build! I'll be watching, as I'm interested in the outcome.

What race are you thinking of using? If human I would suggest decreasing str to 16 and then adding the racial +2 back to str so it starts at 18, now you have enough points to increase con and dex 16 each adn wis to 13. If you don't care about the feat and skillpoints take that dual talent racial trait and start with 18 dex too.

I am going Human, but I'm giving up skilled for Heart of the Fields (negate fatigue/exhaustion 1/day) otherwise I would consider taking dual talented!

What you (and DoctorYesNinja) pointed out makes a lot of sense. Instead of trading 1 point of strength for 1 point of dexterity at level 4, I could trade 2 points of strength for 2 points of dex, 2 points of con, and a point of wis.

It's basically come down to whether I want a 20 strength for stronger attacks, or a 16 dex for 3 AoOs from Come and Get Me.

The difference between 18 and 20 strength is +1atk/dmg per swing.
The difference between 15 and 16 dexterity is a full extra swing, assuming I get to use all three, once I can take CaGM. PLUS 1 AC, and an extra +2 con.

Conclusion: dropping strength to 16 is best. Thank you both for the help!

Easiest way is to go to his profile page

and start flagging. It won't let me flag all of them... which should tell you how many there are.

Asmodeus wouldn't spare a mortal soul. Imposter.

ON TOPIC: HALP

Making a Invuln. Rager, plan on using the crap out of Come And Get Me, so I need a pretty high dex for more AoOs.

Stats at level 1:

STR 18
DEX 15
CON 15 (For Raging Vitality)
INT 7
WIS 12
CHA 7

My question is should I use my stat point at level 4 to boost dex to a 16? Low magic campaign so I can't count on having a stat boosting item. The only way to afford a 16 dex at the start would be to tank my wisdom as well, which I don't really want to do.

I'm thinking it might be better just to play a regular 2H fighter, or a barbarian.

A little more info on our campaign: No casters allowed. If you wish to play a caster you have to play the NPC class "Adept" or a Bard. No Monks, Paladins, etc. Rangers are allowed but no spells.

These rules leads me to want to play either a Fighter (Either 2Hand or ranged), a Barbarian, or a Ranged Bard. So far we have a Halfling Rogue (TWF), a Dwarf fighter (2H), and some other form of fighter.

Does anyone have any experience with low magic/wealth games, or have thoughts/suggestions based on the above rules?

Or should would a barbarian make a better reach fighter? (I'm looking at the 1/round rage power "knockback")

DM says we're going to do a low wealth/low magic campaign soon, which is something we've never done. I thought it would be cool to try something else I've never done as well: play a reach fighter.

Build (taken from this post: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2phlu?Two-Handed-Fighter-Build#9)

Human Fighter (Weaponmaster)

Attributes: (25 point buy)
STR - 17 (If anyone can figure out how to get an 18 and keep the 13 int I'd love to see it)
DEX - 14
CON - 14
INT - 13
WIS - 14
CHA - 7

Feats:
1st - Power Attack
1st - Cleave
1st - Dodge
2nd - Mobility
3rd - Combat Expertise
4th - Spring Attack, retrain Cleave to Whirlwind Attack

5th - Combat Reflexes
6th - Lunge

7th - Weapon Focus
8th - Greater Weapon Focus
9th - Improved Critical
10th - Critical Focus
11th - Dazing Assault

12th - Sickening Critical
13th - Staggering Critical
14th - Critical Mastery
15th - Weapon Specialization
16th - Greater Weapon Specialization
17th - Stunning Critical

Does this build look solid?

I realize in order to whirlwind attack The enemy can't be adjacent to me, so am I supposed to just take the 5 foot step (which you can take while making a full attack action) and soak the AoOs I'll incur, or would it be possible to use Acrobatics to negate them altogether?

One final question: We will be starting at level 1, with only a club, dagger, and a shortbow. Is there any way I could make a makeshift spear? Otherwise would it be better to simply drop the Weapon Master archetype and play a vanilla fighter?

Sorcerer, draconic, human...that's about it?

Going draconic, btw. I like draconic (wings, etc.)

Hey, my DM said we could make a level 20 character with 350k wealth. Anyone have ideas for items/spells/feats?

That sounds like fun. Also going to be a Qinggong monk, because why not?
Getting his Qinggong powers from drinking magical ale will be in his backstory.

NOTE: This thread isn't about min-maxing. This thread isn't even about builds. You are welcome to post your favorite if you wish, but this thread is about -roleplaying- a dwarven monk (specifically zen archer).

I have always seen monks RPed as the eastern martial arts master, and it's kind of cheesy to me. I am looking for roleplay ideas for a dwarven zen archer monk!
