Harry also attempts to strike the man as he pushes his way by.
Brawling: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 1) + 5 = 8
Alarmed, Harry stutters out a response to the man.
"Umm..I'v just got back but a few minutes ago...and only just ordered this drink...I have not yet been up to the room......what's going on??"
I though we were waiting at the hotel for the others to come back. Harry had been talking to other people just on the street and received no new intel, so came back to the hotel to wait for the others to get back from the theatre. Is this close enough that he might see/hear the others??
Harry is going to see if he can speak to any in the more "foreign" districts of DC. While he will not, out-and-out ask if anyone has seen lizard people, he will try to track down any stories of strange occurrences. Not too sure if there is a roll for this or not?
Not too sure if Harry is the best person to do this, but I think we should also talk to people in the city to see if there are any rumors circulating about what we have encountered. There might be others who know what we do, and perhaps we can work together with them. Just a thought
Sounds like a good plan...regroup and see where we can go from here!
I was thinking we should scan local papers and talk to some of the people here in the capital and try to find others who have maybe had a similar experience as we have. Who knows, there could already be a resistance of sorts out there that we can connect with...just a thought.
"Ah my friends we have failed at the British Consulate. They want nothing to do with...ummm...what's going on?
Feeling betrayed by the embassy, Harry leads the way back to the Willard.
Curing in his native tongue as he leaves, Harry turns to Evelyn.
"My pardon good lady. I had hoped His Royal Highness's representative here would be a little more helpful to our cause, but I can see that I was being naive. Is there anyplace I can escort you?"
Harry looks to Evelyn and then back to the assistant security chief.
"This has nothing to do with my religion, sir. This has to do with the destabilization of this countries government and the unfortunate consequences it will have on the Empire. I have a writ here from HRH office to investigate the American mechanization and modernization techniques, and I bloody well think that this is as, if not more, important to our government."
Harry tries to remain calm, but the prejudice of this man is wearing his patiences thin.
Harry lays out the entire story as far as he knows it. It also asks if the British Government has any idea about what is going on with Morroway.
I believe Evelyn has the pistures, so we will show them as well, but will not let them be kept..only copies may be made.
Harry returns to see the group just getting back from their own meetings.
"Well I have an appointment with the assistant head of security for tomorrow, if that will do much good. But it is a start. How did you all fair?"
"I will contact the ambassador at the British Embassy and set up a meeting if the rest of you wish to try and contact this senator."
If they agree, Harry will head out and go directly to the embassy. As a representative of the government he hopes he should be able to see the ambassador quickly.
Hearing the upsetting news from Morroway, Harry makes a suggestion.
"It does not look like we will be able to speak with anyone from your government, so perhaps we should speak to someone from mine...or more precisely, His Majesty's. I am worried that someone powerful in your government is attempting to foil our plans to expose this alien conspiracy. Maybe a 'foreign' government might aid us."
Still here...just have not seen a point to insert anything useful into the game play at the moment. Harry is just waiting to get to see someone in power. Failing that he will suggest going to the British Consulate and trying to speak to people there.
Harry, hearing the President is away, redoubles his vigilance as this is beginning to look like someone might be setting them up.
"Do you think anyone else could have got to him first and arranged for him to be away? How high does this conspiracy go?", he whispers to Victor.
"Is there a reason it is white? It does not seem to get hot enough for it to deflect the sun's light..?
Harry keeps a sharp lookout for anyone who seems to be paying the group an undue amount of interest.
Back to the train and off to the President as fast as we can!!
Harry shakes his head at this lost opportunity to question the men, but life was like that. Sometimes you won, and other times you lost.
Heading back out of the Sheriff's office he looks back towards the train station.
"We should get back on the train and keep moving. I would hate to get caught out in the open by agents of those we are trying to oppose."
"Deputy I do fear for your Sheriff. You should go and check on him...we will not leave. The good doctor can watch us, and I give you my word no of us will exit this room while you are gone."
Harry, while not as eloquent as some of the others, attempts to get the deputy to see the threat these men possess.
Harry nudges Victor and whispers to him.
"Might not be good to leave the Sheriff alone with those two. See if the deputy will go with him and the doctor can watch us."
Harry stands back, breathing heavily and favouring his wounded side.
"These robbers are tampering with our baggage.", he tells the young railway worker.
AH, ok...no worries then, I will act!
Harry takes another swipe at the crowbar wielding thug.
Melee: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
Just waiting to see what David's attack did to my assailant.
Harry once again enters into the deadly dance with his opponent, knife held low.
Melee: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
Wow...these rolls are brutal!!
Cursing in his native language, Harry takes another stab at the man (I know...bad pun!!)
Attack-melee: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9
Why do the dice hate me so!! Well might be the bad pun!
With his katar out, Harry stabs at the man attacking him with the crowbar.
Melee attack: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
Harry moves up behind Victor and pulls his Katar out.
"You will not stop us from bringing this sinister plot to light. Now move away from the baggage..."
Looks like we are on our own...until we run screaming from whatever unholy creatures lurk under the guise of these men...or not!! lol
Harry checks that his Katar is at his belt, then follows the Canadian towards the baggage car.
"Should we not alert the others?"
"I will. I am not partial to the smell of smoke and would welcome the fresh air."
The big Hindi man heads out of the crowded compartment and heads in the direction he saw Victor take.
"Perhaps that might be for the best. A 6'3 Hindi man would be a little more noticeable than someone from this side of the world!" Harry says with a chuckle.
Maybe Harry could follow them and keep an eye on what they are up to...just so there are no surprises??
Harry pulls the shade, but leaves a corner up so he can see the men approach, but not be seen by them. (if possible)
Harry keeps his dagger near at hand and takes a seat right by the door into their berth.
Harry give George a dirty look, but then corrects himself.
"Dollars, yes...that is what I meant. I believe the conversion would amount to only 21 pounds or so...your American dollar is quite new is it not? "
Harry hefts the body into the photographer's studio. He gives the man a quick once over as well as examining the equipment surrounding them.
"Perhaps it might be best if we just pay you a fee for the use of your equipment and leave it at that...say 100 pounds"
Perhaps we should get photographs of the bodies. I have never seen flesh deteriorate so quickly...must have something to do with their alien biology. I do not think they would last the trip to Washington even in ice."
"In England, near every train station was a building that held ice for local homes to use in their ice boxes...is there not something similar here?" Harry explains to the others, not sure if such a convenience can be found here.
"Maybe we need to get them on ice. Perhaps that will slow their rate of decay?" the tall easterner suggests.
Who is our doctor?? Maybe heal the groundskeeper so we can take him with us as living proof.
Ah...our bad then....well if we cannot retcon then can we examine his body? Just want to see if it is like that of the alien body we have.
Do we still have the gameskeeper with us? We need to question him before we move on, I should think. Or if he dies, I want to exanine his body
Wanting to take the man alive, Harry steps forward and tries to sweep the shotgun from the fellows hands once again.
Brawling: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 2) + 5 = 9
yup it was...so I did not have any of the info on it.....
Harry drops to a knee, pulls out his borrowed pistol and fires on the groundskeepers.
Not sure if I can do all of that in one turn...I hope so!
Marksman: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13
Breathing heavy, Harry takes a step back from the groundskeeper.
"Best do what he says friend. Drop my dagger and take a step back."
