You've attracted a great selection of players here Jiggy - I can only imagine this will be another top notch game. I wish I could join (I am on the mend, but not out of the woods as they say).

But if I were to try and join I would have a questions

What kind of posting rate are you going to shoot for?

Tears streaming down her face, Tessrimea cradles the Dwarf in her arms, and places her soft cheek against his forehead

don't you die on me, don't leave me when we've only just begun to know each other

Overlooked Tessrimea's "Sacred Touch" trait, which does not require an action!

Tessrimea's soothing words flow into Xor and his bleeding seems to stop

No!, Xor Tess screams again, and eying the cat's position carefully she lowers her upper body down till it is almost touching the ground and in the fashion of her kind when speed is necessary, she darts into the water near the hill and swims like mad to circle past the cat, and then she emerges on the other side of the battling dwarven woman, near where xor lies on the ground.

Tess will double move, using her natural swimming abilities to reach Xor, but can do nothing else this round

Are we lost? Did anyone bring a tent? I don’t know how we could find our way back to town, or even those ruins, in the dark, so we are just going to camp here, in the marsh

Only this small black object, and this slim silvery key, unlike any I’ve ever seen before, Tessrimea says opening the box and showing the contents to Paulina.

I was looking all through this room’s strange devices and I found this box labeled Keys,

It looks dark down there, Tessrimea quips into Xor’s ear. Can I have one of your rocks to cast a light spell upon? The duration is not long, but I can cast the simple spell many times. It will illuminate a small area for us.

Tess stays close behind Xor as he examines the ruins, and when the group begins to uncover the Door, she is behind him, taking direction from him as to where she should stand and what she should do.

After a few minutes of work she leans her head close to Xor and asks, in a whisper

Do you think we are safe doing what we are doing?

She glances around the ruin and then slides her lower body closer to Xor, and says, Is there a chance it might collapse even more?

Tessrimea looks pained for a moment, then lowers her head and says softly, ”There was a woman, a girl, in my family, many years ago, who ran away from home, because she felt her parents did not understand her. She found herself dancing, for money, and singing in a tavern very much like this one, on the north coast of Vologna. There were, people, bad people, they are known to your kind as Yaun-ti, but to our people we know them by other names, names we don’t like to speak. There has always been, trouble between our kinds. We, the Gymnagaopthians, are lizard-folk, while the Yaun-ti are snake-folk. The differences are subtle, but important. You see, there was a Yaun-ti woman, a priestess, who desired this Gymnaga girl, as a lover, and in order to keep her people safe from harm, the Gymnaga girl fled. She would have been given, as a bride to the Yaun-ti, by her parents, if she stayed, and some of my people have said that this would have been not such a terrible thing. But, anyway, this Gymnaga girl fled, to Vologna, and lived there for a while, until, until the Yaun-ti priestess came to the village, and in her anger at being denied, she killed a lot of innocent people who were trying to protect the Gymnaga girl.”

Tess straightens up, and then speaks with more conviction. ”I have joined an order of followers of our goddess dedicated to protecting the memory of this Gymnaga girl, and as a way of showing our remorse for the suffering of the Volognans, we are, as priests and priestesses dedicated to helping people in need, people searching for lost relatives, and people trying to stop oppression. I came here looking for a purpose. Nathaniel, I will help look for your brother, and Paulina, I will help you find your answers. Purpose, has found me.”

Tessrimea wakes up early, and is careful not to wake Nathaniel and Paulina. It turned out, after Tessrimea asked Paulina bout the possibility of there being no rooms available in the inn, what with all those strangers from the ship that arrived late last night all needing a room, that Paulina had a spare room in her home here in the town and offered it to Tess and Nathaniel.

Nathaniel had been a perfect gentleman and insisted that Tess sleep in the small bed, while he slept on the floor.

When she finished her morning meditations, Tess searched through Paulina’s kitchen and found a few vegetables and some cheese, eggs and bread in the pantry in a strange tall white box that was sealed and maintained a cool temperature inside. Obviously this Dwarven woman had access to some powerful magic, what with this strange ice box and her remembering flail.

Nathaniel rose when he smelled the spices and aroma of toasted bread, and Paulina soon was up as well.

When the three had finished their morning meal, it was Tess who was the first to broach the difficult subject of what was going to be the next thing they planned to do

I’m not sure if we should try to contact the others we met last night, or set out on our own. But I think, the first thing we need to do is follow the trail of those monsters back into the moor to try and find out where they came from and who sent them.

”Marvin!” Tessrimea shouts, as she looks around to find him in the dark. When she does, she slithers over to him and bows her head as she speaks a soft prayer

"Oh, no!" Tessrimea comes out of the tavern and looks in the direction everyone is facing and then she goes on, "It's more of those tentacle beasts. They were impossible to hurt! What are we going to do? And they brought even stranger things with them this time."

Basconde party barge, jackal's claw? What are you talking ab...Wait! You think I am my great aunt Tessrimea. She drowned in a storm fifty years ago off the coast of Basconde. She was a guest of some duke or something. She was my grandmother's sister, on my father's side. I was named for her, and I'm told I take after her, the tail and all, but how? How could you know her?

Xor, Tessrimea says moving behind the burly dwarf, I thought she was with you. You don't know this dwarven woman?

She leans in close, and examines Holly's eyes.

"They look normal to me, by the way, what did you say your name was, sir? That was impressive. The way you destroyed one of those things with that exploding rock. Can you teach me that spell?"

Tess slides up close to Xor and smiles brightly at him.

"No, sir,"Tess remarks. "But then, I am new to this town, and haven't seen much of the world."

When the Dwarf and the Copper Haired being make strange remarks, she looks around and then says, "What are you talking about. Wait, are you talking to me? I'm so sorry, let me introduce myself. My name is Tessrimea Niessomatt and I am from Loch Rhinna Er’loch Corry, in Drasbia and I am a priestess of Nemaxetas, the Daugther of Xetas, Protector of the Rivers and Lakes of my homeland. I’ve come to this town looking for clues to the whereabouts of my older sister, Shanmerril, who disappeared from our village two years ago.”

Tessrimea moves into the open and raises her hand to throw another stone, she can't get a clear view of the monster in front of Marvin, so she throws down the alley at one of the others.

”Do you think this strange being with the coppery hair can see in the dark? By the way, I am called Tessrimea, or Tess for short. I saw you talking with the Halfling earlier, he’s been here for a couple of days but is mostly a quiet fellow, you know I…”

She stops and screams when suddenly a strange black shadowy shape comes into the alley toward the north.

"Are you mad, sir? I've never seen you before in my life." The Gymnaga woman exclaims.

"Please, Sir, I did not learn your name," she slithers up next to Edward. "Take who, exactly? Do you think we should follow the instructions of this curious speaking foreigner? Is there some menace you are aware of? I don’t see anything.”

Finally she turns to Marvin and exclaims, ”Oh, yes I understand now what you are saying. The sound came from over there,” she points to the alley.

she moves to D,5, and peers around the corner

”We have an advantage in numbers and the disadvantage of not knowing what we are up against. Should we separate? I think we should stay together. Don’t you?” She looks at Marvin, and then at Edward, and then glances over her shoulder toward the shadowy figure by the sea. ”Should we trust that one?”

Tess stops at the end of the pier near the shore, and turns when she hears Mario. "They all can't be right," she smiles and slides back toward everyone.

"But we do need to agree on a plan. And there is the matter of all this gold. Do we just leave it hear on the pier? Does it belong to us now? How do we decide what we are going to do?"

"How is this supposed to help us?" Tessrimea shrugs her shoulders and then turns toward Sasithorn.

"You were saying something else, when you first came over here, it wasn't about this gold. There is something else you've puzzled out. Tell us why this island is a discovery of a lifetime?"

Hearing a voice cry out, Tessrimea moves into action.
“Lady, I don’t know your name, please, stay here and try to hide, and you sir,” she addresses the waiter, “follow me as quickly as you can.”
And then with those words, she turns, lowers her body until it is only a foot or so from the ground, her hips almost touching the rocks, she drives her single leg into the pebbly beach and moves forward with surprising speed. Her tail makes quick side to side motions, creating a loud sound as rocks are sent flying to either side.
The Basconde waiter is left behind.
She comes up behind the Holdandun, and sees the smoldering, and huge lizard.

What can I do? She thinks as she fights away her fear.

Once everyone is awake, Tessrimea hears the Holdandun say something about exploring the island, and then does not understand what he says after that. She is not sure if it is a good idea for people to wander off, but she does not say anything. When the Beauvingian mentions everyone’s need of some form of healing, she exclaims, “I’m so sorry, where was my heart? She sits on the edge of the boat, and slowly draws her tail over it until she can turn and “stand” on the shore. On her ‘knee’ she is 5’ 3” tall, and her tail, now visible in the light is not the color one would expect of a reptile-hybrid. Her tail is golden yellow with white speckles.

”I am exhausted, tired, but uninjured,” she answers the man who asked if everyone is alright. She then slides noisily across the beach toward the man, and extends her right hand. “My name is Tessremea, I am happy to meet you, even in these unfortunate circumstances.”

Adelaide

She then turns to look at Adelaide, and smiles, ”A priest of the Xetas, of The Church at Ses Theeth, I have heard of the followers of your god, but I’ve never met one. I am a priestess of our people’s patroness, the daughter of Xetas, Nerimexetas, the Virgin of the Seas. As soon as everyone is out of the boat, as tired as I know we all are, it is best that we do as the Drasbian woman says, and pull this boat into those trees. I don’t know if it is high or low tide, but if we aren’t careful we could lose the boat on the changes of the tide.”

"Is everyone alright," a quiet, and calm vice comes from the rear of the lancha. "I think we've run aground. Was I sleeping? Shouldn't we pull the boat to higher ground?"

The voice, melodic and soothing, comes from a Gymnagaopthian woman. In the faint light of a few stars and a sliver moon, you can see that she is fair skinned, and has dark hair, an elegant face that is small and heart shaped. He body is curvaceous, and her form is striking. Her lower body, a reptilian looking tail, is nearly eight or nine feet long. She wears a long white frock, of heavy cloth that extends below her waist by almost a foot, and a wide belt. She is drenched, soaking wet, but her eyes shine, and her smile is reassuring.

Her upper body is nearly the same size as that of a Basconde woman of adult age, but she is characteristically "heavier" that is to say, she is not overweight, but she is very curvy.
