male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Someone get the crash cart stat! clear! zapp! again! clear! Zapp! should we call it? Too bad I liked this character.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Anybody seen our GM? I am begining to get worried about him.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

sylvan will carry this gear with him into the crypt in the morning.

Leather armor,
Bamboo shaft arrow (9),
Dagger,
Rapier,
Tube arrow shooter,
Belt pouch (Sap, Thieves' tools, Flint and steel, 43 GP, 5 SP, 6 CP) Backpack (22 @ 22 lbs), Chalk (5), Grappling hook, Piton (10), Silk rope
Trail rations x2
waterskin
Oil x2

I have a hooded lantern that I can also carry but I am at medium encumberance without it so if someone else wants to carry it or has one of their own to bring that would be better.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

sounds like pretty good plans, but we really won't know what we can and can't do until we get there. we should probably turn in early and make sure we have all the equipment we will need.

This said Sylvan finishes the last of his meal and stands up. He belts his Rapier back on.

I am heading back to the Caravan camp to sort out my gear and turn in. Don't stay up too long.

Sylvan waves good by too Ameiko and heads out the door.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Thats good we won't have to lug a lantern around with us then. How long does this spell last?

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

No one has any problems with going down into some dark creepy crypt infested with goblins and who knows what other kinds of vermin?
Sylvan asks.

we are probably going to want lanterns or torches tomorrow. Lanterns last longer but clearing out the goblins shouldn't take too long. The crypt can't be that big.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

I am supprised the goblins showed up at the festival at all. There weren't near enough goblins to make an effective attack on the town. we only kill . . . eight of them. Now that I think about it the whole attack doesn't make a lot of sense.

@NicatI would be happy to teach you anything I know about blade work but I think Ventus still has a lot he can teach you. Unless you plan on abandoning your shortswords for a rapier my style of fighting won't fit well. With a rapier you rely on the point to inflict harm. Your shortswords and Ventus longsword rely on the edge.
Sylvan leans back in his chair.
what you might want to do is make a trip to the south. I once saw a dervish out of Qadira in Magnimar. I have never seen a pair of blades move that fast. It was amazing.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Noro! So this is where you were, I didn't see you at the garrison.
Sylvan calls out to Noro as he comes in with the others.

What are you eating? Nicat said he was paying tonight. Sylvan sits at the table with Nicat, Zella, and Ventus. He waves for Noro to come join them.
come sit with the rest of us. How much have you had to drink?

Ameiko! That salmon at lunch was incredible! what is for dinner? You haven't seen Elric have you? He looks around at the mostly empty Inn. not much chance of a game tonight after all.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

After several minutes of searching Sylvan give up on finding Elric to report on the fight with the goblins. He hasn't seen him since morning so goes instead to find the sheriff and Father Zantus. He arrives in time to hear sheriff Hemlock ask for help the next morning.

Zestlian wrote:
"I'll not make promises for anybody else, but you can count on my help. If goblins are capable of threatening Sandpoint then travelers in the area cannot hope to be secure."

I will also be happy to help in the morning. Is there anything else we can help with tonight?

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Sylvan is looking for the Caravan master Elric. I think it would be likely that he would be with the sheriff and other town leaders dealing with the aftermath of the goblin raid. So Sylvan could end up at the same place as the people taking the goblin in but arriving by a different route. Sylvan wants to let Elric know what his people did during the raid and find out if there is anything he wants them to do now.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Goblins aren't known for thier intelligence or restraint. just don't let it get it's teeth near your backside lol

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

I hope the goblin doesn't bite you ventus.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Ah come on Zella, you no neither of us planned this. At least I didn't plan this. I was planning on spending the evening playing cards in the Rusty Dragon. I think Ameiko may be sweet on me. Nicat! now he may have planned this. You planned this whole thing didn't you Nicat? Thought it would be a lark to be stabbed in the belly by a goblin didn't you?

Sylvan gives Nicat a wink and a grin to show he was only teasing.

Thank you Zella for fixing us up so quickly. You are an angel!

Sylvan give Zella a brief hug.

Do you fix pants too?

I am going to go find Elric and see what he wants to do.

Sylvan heads off to find the Caravan Master.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Sylvan cleans and sheaths his rapier. Now that the fighting is over his injured Knee is starting to hurt more and he grimaces at the pain. He looks down to see how badly he is hurt but he doesn't seem to be bleeding too badly.
I don't know how may of the towns folk are injured but I could use a little attention from a healer. Nicat could probably use it more than I.

He limps over to Nicat and offers him a shoulder to lean on. As they walk back to the town square he rubs the young mans head.
I think you need to get Desna to give you another kiss boy, this doesn't seem to be working very well anymore. How bad are you hurt?

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

All but Arduino, Eleshanto, and Zella:
Sylvan rushes to help Ventus defend Nicat. He lunges at goblin with his rapier, but slips in dead dogs blood and missing his mark.

attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 >>1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4bloody Hell!! We are all going to die because the dice hate us!

Damn it Nicat!

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Sylvan, Zestlian, and Eleshanto are right behind them. we should all be there to help in a round. two at the most.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Sylvan dashes around the corner after Nicat, and Ventus. Rapier at the ready.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Seeing that there are only two of the second group of goblins still alive, Sylvan will leave them to the those already near them and run after Nicat, Ventus, and Noro.

All we have been doing is reacting, if there are goblins all over the town we are going to have a problem when it gets dark. Which it is going to do soon. How did the goblins get into town without anyone noticing them?

A stab of pain from his knee reminds Sylvan that he is hurt and needs to be careful.
I forgot about the hit I took. If this cut on my leg doesn't get me some attention from the girls in town I am going to be disgruntled lol. current HP 4.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

while you guys do that I am going to be a ruthless bas**** and execute most of the rest of these sleeping goblins. I will try to save the smartest one.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Arduino's sleeping spell has been really effective. Maybe he isn't the useless lump I thought he was.

Sylvan kills the last of the first set of sleeping goblins with his rapier.

coup de grace:
automatic crit
damage 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 6) + 2 = 12 +1d6 ⇒ 3 total damage 15.

Good work with those sleep spells Arduino. We only spare the smartest looking one of these little vermin. Kill the rest.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

oops I guess I should leave the other one alive then. any ideas on how to secure it quickly so I can come join the fight?

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

we are working for the Silver Crusade not the Shining Crusade. The shining Crusade was responsible for the founding of Lastwall.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Seeing Adventus slay the goblin he was moving to combat, Sylvan turns and goes to stand over sleeping goblin with the nose ring.

I think here is where the other goblins would show up.

The others can deal with the new goblins for now. I don't want these things waking up and attacking us from behind.

Sylvan uses his rapier to kill the sleeping goblin with the nose ring.

coup de grace:

full round action automatic critical hit I am not sure how to roll damage.
Rapier +3 (1d6+1/18-20/x2)
I think think this is right 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8 +1d6 ⇒ 3
total 11 damage
extra 1d6 is sneak attack damage.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Anders will follow the others in to meet with Auntie Baltwin.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Sylvan attacks the goblin that is still awake with his rapier.

attack:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 poop!

damage:
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

I hope someone has the presence of mind to dispatch those two sleepers before they wake up.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

No problem here if she is a witch. Who or what her patron is might be a problem. Same thing if she is some other type of magic user, Cleric, of what diety? What she is doing with the silver Crusades resources is what we are supposed to be discovering if she isn't using them on the kids. If she is selling them then we let the crusade know that she needs money not medicines. She doesn't seem to be doing a bad job with the kids.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

I was thinking that for the goblin to have it's prey suddenly vanish leaving it standing there in confusion would be a good thing. goblins aren't that bright I would think the confusion would give you all some bonuses when you go to attack it. you have to be within 30 feet of the goblin to pull the trick. so I see it happening like this. you vanish the girl. the goblin has to make a saving throw to avoid being confused. if he fails he stops in confusion. you and Nicat reach him and cut him to ribbons before he gets over the confusion and can fight back. just a thought.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Eleshanto could you use your disappearing act on the little girl? you are probably not in range to do that yet but can you only use it on cooperative characters or can it be used on anyone?

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Sylvan draws his rapier and advances on the goblin he fired at. Trying to get into melee range before the creature can run off to attack someone.

Come on then you ugly little beast! Your father liked to read, and your mother was a dog. He called to the goblin. He didn't know if it could speak common but hopefully the insults would keep its attention on him.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

one of my traits Friends and Enemies grants me a trained and equiped heavy horse that I think needs some background with it. It may be utter crap but I hope you all enjoy it. lol

Three years earlier Friends and Enemies trait backstory
Goblin Squash Stables
The first time Sylvan returned to Sandpoint

Daviren Hosk?

The question from the shadows stopped the owner of the Goblin squash Stables in his tracks. The stable had been closed for several hours and there should not have been anyone there but him. He was just there to make a final check on the horses before retiring for the night. He knew who ever it was wasn’t there to rob the stable, if he had been he wouldn’t have called attention to himself. That meant he was here for some other more personal reason.

Are you Daviren Hosk?

The voice from the shadows asked again. There was a soft scuffing sound as the speaker drew closer moving out of the deep shadows into the dim light. The appearance of the man that emerged from the darkness stopped the old rangers whirling mind.

Jal? he asked the man in the shadows. Is that you Jal? He raised the lantern in his hand higher and squinted at his visitor.

I am afraid not Master Hosk. the man said as he stepped further into the light. Fully in the light Daviren could see that this man was not his old friend Jal Quinn. The resemblance was striking but this man was too young, too young by at least twenty years.

My name was Korr, I am Jal Quinn’s son. I am sorry about coming to see you under such strange circumstances Master Hosk, but I couldn’t risk having this conversation in public.

Well you look enough like your father that I can believe you are who you say you are. You scared me half to death boy, hiding in the shadows like that. the old man looks his young visitor over. He was definitely Jal Quinn’s son he looked exactly like his father did at eighteen when he hired him to work in the stable, but Jal Quinn never carried a rapier like this boy did. Can’t be more than eighteen, that makes him the same age little Korr would be now.

What do you mean you couldn’t risk having this conversation in public? The older man turned and continued to check the horses in their stalls, expecting that the younger man would follow him, which he did after a moment hesitation.

Master Hosk, my name is Sylvan Hawke now. I had to change my name. There are some people in Magnimar that are looking for Korr Quinn. I couldn’t risk you recognizing me and unintentionally giving me away.

People looking for you eh, and I will bet they don’t mean to do you well if they find you, do they? the old man stopped and turned to the younger man. Well lets, go to my office were we can sit down and you can tell me your story.

Sylvan followed Daviren Hosk to his office. Over the next couple of hours he sat and told the older man everything that had happened after his family left Sandpoint. His father being crippled, his mother dying of fever, Hawke Whilwren, his father’s death, and the events leading up to his fleeing Magnimar. He held nothing back. When he finished he sat still and waited for Hosk to respond.

I can’t tell you how sorry I am to hear about your parents boy. the old man said after sitting quietly for a long moment. Your father was a good man. He saved my life when we were fighting the bonegrinder’s. Your mother was a good woman too, a bit foolish about somethings, but a good woman.

Daviren Hosk leans back in his chair and studies the young man sitting across his desk from him. So, how can I help you? What do you want from me?

All I need you to do is keep my secret Master Hosk. Don’t let on that I am anyone other than Sylvan Hawke. That’s what you can do for me. That and tell me who else might recognize me as Jal Quinn’s son. Sylvan leaned forward anxious to hear what the older man’s answer would be. Hosk frowned, and stared at the young man, the boy really. Hosk stood and smiled at Sylvan.

I think I can do a bit more for you than keep quiet. Come with me boy, if you are going to be travelling with a caravan I got something that you will find useful.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Sylvan enjoyed most of the day. Lunch was provided free by Sandpoints taverns and all of the food was excellent. He was one of the few that actually preferred the venison from the white deer to the curry Salmon. He is pleased that Nicat won the part of the prize for guessing the number of beans in the jar, but he hopes he won't spend it all on something foolish.

The sound of screaming pulls his attention away from the start of Father Zantus's dedication of the cathedral. He starts to move in the direction of the screams, loosening his rapier in its scabbard as he goes.

Quote:
a sudden surge of strange new voices rises high-pitched, tittering shrieks that sound not quite human. The crowd parts and something low to the ground races by, giggling with disturbing glee as the stray dog gives a pained yelp and then collapses with a gurgle, its throat cut open from ear to ear. As blood pools around its head, the raucous sound of a strange song begins, chanted from shrill, scratchy voices.

perception:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

A Goblin Here! Sylvan can hardly believe what he is seeing, but his surprise doesn't keep him from acting long. The dog collapsed not far from Sylvan. He pushes past the few people still in between him and the goblin and fires the arrow shooter concealed in his sleeve at the goblin

Attack:

ranged attack1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Damage 1d4 ⇒ 1x2=2 yikes hope I didn't hit any of the crowd.

GOBLINS! Into the Cathedral! Quickly! Sylvan shouts at the crowd around him.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

part of me was hoping that the role would come out badly enough that I could have hit you Nicat. That would have been hilarious.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Nicat! Sylan calls Which squishy little goblin head do you bet I can't hit? The one in the tree or yours?

Sylvan turns to the Bowyer. Do you mind if I try out this bow, and humor the lunatic.

The Bowyer laughs Go ahead, maybe you be lucky, and hit that fool boy instead of that poor melon.

Sylvan takes an arrow from the table and sets it to the bowstring.

Last chance to back out Nicat! he calls to the young man in the tree. Not waiting for Nicat to reply he draws the shortbow. The fletching of the arrow touches his cheek and he lets out a slow breath before releasing the string.

Ranged:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

The arrow speeds on its way neatly spitting the melon and knocking it from its rest in the tree.

Now bring the arrow back! If it is broken you are paying for it.
Sylvan thanks the Bowyer for the use of the fine bow and compliments him on the smooth draw.
damn fool boy! I could have killed him if I had missed! Sylvan takes a deep breath to steady his nerves and does his best to ignore the reaction of the surrounding crowd.
Next time, I am not going to go along with his foolish game. He promises himself.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Having no luck at the dice Sylvan gives up and starts wandering around the square examining the items the merchants have on display. He spends a few coppers on a pastry, and stops to examine the bowyers wares. He can't afford the bows on display but he enjoys handling them and testing their draw.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

arrgh you can't add more dice rolls to the middle of a post without messing up all the rolls that come later. I hope the dice are kinder the next time I do some gambling if not I am going to have to change my profession to beggar.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Sylvan had been shocked when he had first returned to Sandpoint three years ago to find the chapel he remembered from his childhood gone. Those few years in Sandpoint so long ago had been a happy time for him and he liked to think that if his family had stayed in things would have been better than they were.
The new Cathedral was impressive though. The builder the town contracted to construct the Cathedral obviously new his trade.
Sylvan was at ease among the crowd confident that no one would recognize him as the five year old boy that once lived here. He had already spoken to those that remembered his father well enought to see him in his son. They knew his story and he had no fear of betrayal from them. The local sczarni might betray him to Jaster Frallino but none of them had known his father and so would not recognize his son.
He wandered through the crowd stopping to play a few of the games, and Make a guess at the number of beans in the jar.

bean guess: 173

Sack race: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
target booth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Sylvan was able to easily win one the sack races, defeating several locals and adventus another man from Elrics caravan. It was nice to see him lightening up and having some fun he was usually so serious. Sylvan also tried his hand at the target booth but could not hit the target with the sling bullet.

Charisma check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
12/3=4

Sylvan spends a few minutes talking to Father Zantus. The priest is a good friend and one of the few people that know who he really is. Sylvan compliments his on his new cathedral and teases him telling him to try not to burn this one down.

He spends a few minutes flirting with Ameiko Kaijitsu a beautiful Tian woman that owns the Rusty Dragon tavern.

does she flirt back? Charisma check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Sylvan also manages a polite introduction to Kendra Deverin the mayor of Sandpoint and Sheriff Belor Hemlock, both good people to know. After mingling with the crowd for a bit Sylvan finds a dice game and sets to trying to make some money for the caravan.

profession gambler 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Sylvan will wager up to 20 silver pieces in the game. POOP! looks like the dice are against him

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

@ventus: This is something sylvan will point out frequently

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

yes. dot!

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

I am okay with that. after all the best place to stab someone is in the back.

male Human(Varisian) Rouge (Swashbuckler) lvl 1 (Perc +3, Init +2, AC15, hp 11/11, )

Hooray! I am excited.

Okay, so Sylvan has been with the caravan for four years. Elric will know about his past, I don't see Elric as the type of guy that would let him be with the caravan for a long period without telling him at least about his past. So Elric knows who he is and why he is hiding. Sylvan tries to keep a fairly low profile (he will leave seducing mayors daughters to Eleshanto)and when ever the caravan gets close to Magnimar he becomes a ghost.
There are others in sand point that know who he is and what his story is. He looks too much like his father for them to not recognize him. Daviren Hosk is one(see campaign trait Friends and Enemies), and Father Zantus would be another.

He has spoken to the others about his past but avoids specifics about Hawke and why he had to leave Magnimar.

He would probably get on pretty well with Adventus,Zestlian,Nicat, and Eleshanto. I am not to sure about Arduino, the lazyness might get on his nerves.

@Zestlian-Zestlian would have to endure a bit of good natured harassment because of his peity.

@Adventus-Adventus will get teased about being grumpy.

@Nicat-he will go along with Nicat's profession of being blessed by Desna and take to rubbing his head "for Luck".

@Eleshanto-Eleshanto would be given the nickname songbird or maybe peacock.

@Noro-If he has had a chance to see Noro fight he will have asked her to show him some moves.

If you guys okay with this I will work these ideas into RP. If not let me know.

The gypsy vibe of varisians just seems to fit Rouge characters. The way I envision the caravan is about 30 to 40 people with 10 to 12 wagons. An extended family group would form the core of the caravan (leaders and owners of around half of the wagons). The rest would be small families or individuals. there would probably be a lot of fluctuation among the group that doesn't belong to the core family. Some would leave and others would join. The longer they are with the group the more they are trusted and accepted. Sylvan has been with the caravan for four years and would be a trusted and accepted member of the community. They would probably have a regular route that they follow. you can get other races involved. A halfling working as a cook. A dwarf that is a smith or tinker and joins the caravan for a certain part of the journey every year or two. Half elves and Half orcs would find acceptance once they proved themselves. Elves probably wouldn't be a part of the caravan unless they found it amusing to travel with them for 10 or 15 years. We wouldn't be the only caravan arriving for the festival. Sandpoint was supposed to be an important camping area before the town was built. So it could be assumed to be a frequent stop. maybe every year or every other year.

Sylvan is the type to hang about with Eleshanto. Bards tend to attract girls and there is also the possibility of starting a game of chance with some of the crowd. Sylvan's role in the caravan would be a gaurd and general laborer. Loading wagons, setting up camp, hauling water and cutting firewood. Sylvan is pretty good with a blade and would definately be willing to give Nicat some pointers. Sylvan uses his gambling to bring a little extra money to the caravan, but keeps the games freindly so as not to draw any unwelcome attention.

Okay I now have a background up in the profile. I can make adjustment to parts that don't work to fit the party better.

I would like to submit a Varisian Rouge swashbuckler. I think having the link between the players be they are all members of the same varisian caravan is a good idea. It gives the group the ability to come from diverse background but still know each other well and share a family type bond. The Caravan leader being played by the GM gives him a NPC that all the players recognize as an authority figure.

I will write up a background when you decide how you want the players linked.

I am also willing to roll up something else if we need to fill a role in the party.

this is the Character I would like to play, I would welcome any suggestions as I am very new to RPGing

I am always ready for an adventure.
