Interested. 2e and Forgotten Realms is just about perfect.

Very interested. I’m thinking investigator (but we’ll see where my imagination takes me).

Select a stat array equivalent to 15-point buy;
S: 10 D: 17 (15+2) C: 12 I: 12 W: 10 Ch: 14 (12+2) (2, 7, 2, 2, 0, 2 = 15) After racial adjustments

Pick a class from among the Core classes, the Base classes excepting Summoner, the Hybrid classes, and Unchained Summoner (starting HP is maximized, starting wealth is average);
Vigilante (Teisatsu).

Pick a race
Halfling.

Pick a campaign trait from the Hell's Rebels Player's Guide, but it will not have any mechanical effect;
Historian of the Rebellion.

Pick a reason to protest from the Hell's Rebels Player's Guide;
Meeting a contact.

Set forth how you learned about the Aria Park demonstration (i.e., through word of mouth, from a handbill, from a poster, etc.); and
Word of mouth from one of his fellow servants/slaves at Aulamaxa manor.

Summarize your political sympathies and how you came by them, and what organizations you are a part of or orbit - the factions represented at Aria Park will include at least, in no particular order, liberals, radicals, anarchists, and Ravounel nationalists (these terms to have roughly the meanings they had in about 1850 in Europe - if you would like further explanation, please feel free to ask).
Mix a subjugated halfling population, repressive government, and instruction in Desna’s precepts and you get a liberal halfling looking for freedom. He is anti-slavery and anti-aristocracy and wants liberal reforms in Kintargo’s jurisprudence as well as the economic opportunities that come with these ideals. He has been trying to hook up with the silver ravens and has contacts with the bellflower network as well as desna’s hidden faithful.

I intend to stat him out and go into a more detailed origin/background sometime tomorrow (Tuesday, I am on US eastern time) afternoon

Still running through ideas. Quick question, is vigilante considered a base class?

Interested. I’ll see what I can cook up.

I haven’t submitted anything (and I’m not going too) but here are my thoughts:
1. Four weeks is a long time and two weeks is just about perfect.
2. I wouldn’t just end the recruiting I would give 24 hour notice.

Just my thoughts have fun.

Hmmm… I am thinking about submitting a Druid. I’ll throw out some ideas over the next couple of days.

I’ll have my warpriest done today

Nice rolls. Also, with lay on hands, smite, and heavy armor paladins are great frontliners. I think brvheart thinks we might need more than 1.

I am not sure yet, but it looks like we have melee and divine covered. So I am thinking arcane or Striker type.

Magus?

Thanks that is helpful!

Edit: requested access to map.

Since I’ve settled on a class I should roll hit points
hp lvl 2: 1d8 ⇒ 7
hp lvl 3: 1d8 ⇒ 4
hp lvl 4: 1d8 ⇒ 8
hp lvl 5: 1d8 ⇒ 3
hp lvl 6: 1d8 ⇒ 1
hp lvl 6 Reroll: 1d8 ⇒ 5

Edit: I assumed max hit points at 1st level. Let me know if I’m wrong.

I will be putting together a Warpriest of Mitra.. more to come.

Dotting. Not sure what I’ll cook up … let me put some ideas together.

My advice is always play what the wife wants. ;)

I’d be interested in dark tower too. And if can’t get the band back together for your Razor’s Coast game I could wip something up.

Lice

Ripostes

Thrust

I’d be interested in of the frog god games stuff you’ve run (except rappan athuk I don’t feel like a dungeon craw). You might get more interest if you started a new recruitment. I’ve poke around your alias a bit and looks like you are using pathfinder rules and not swords & wizardry correct?

I am going to dot. To be upfront I have absolutely no experience with Starfinder but I’ve been looking things over and will try to put something together before the deadline (I still have a couple of hours). Right now I’m thinking a mechanic of some sort, possibly an android.

Hello again. I withdrew Bug-eyed Thom from from your other kingmaker recruitment because I didn’t think he was a good fit. I have another idea for a Skald. Painting in broad brushstrokes he will be an Ulfen hired as a bodyguard/fixer for a member of house Labeda. The member of the house wanted a bodyguard to be more like the Taldens and their kings by the use of an ulfen as a bodyguard and few having one as a status symbol.

Apologies to all in advance but I will put things on hold for now, while I mull over if this was actually a good idea or not in this format.

Sorry to hear that. Let us know what you decide.

Thaumaturge, perhaps?

Like others have suggested thaumaturge could work. You could also go with oracle with the battle mystery for a similar gish like personality.

Those both looks good. Thanks for your help!

Nice resource pinvendor. At the very least it gave me some ideas. Also, I’m still looking over the 2e classes trying to figure out what classes best captures my concepts.

Whoot. Thanks for running this! I’ll have something ready tomorrow still running through ideas.

@ HeIaman -think you get 6 non-combat skills. 3 for your class, 1 (trade or knowledge, pg35), 2 for your 8 intelligence (learning skills, pg35).

Unlike the optional extra combat skills based on intelligence the non-combat skills appear to be part of the core rules.

SO would it be possible to be a dwarf fighter/cleric?? Was looking over the character and thought it might give us a little edge with a dwarf in the group!!

I mean a dwarf’s axe will necessarily be smaller than a human’s…

I was mulling over being an elf or half-elf F/MU but I’m not sure I can bring myself to do it, and the 4 Wisdom really doesn’t help. For those of you familiar with Sarn, my low-Int cleric in Helaman’s OSR game, I’m quite interested in the difference between his “wise enough to recognise a good idea, but not smart enough to generate one” and this nascent low-Wis fighter - “super smart and capable of generate intelligent solutions, but not exactly wise enough to know whether they are actually a good idea to go ahead with.” Which makes both of them kinda irritating to be around socially. Sarn endlessly gets the wrong end of the stick, while this guy won’t know when to stop telling you things he’s thought of.

But generally, they are both friendly, helpful and love to hang out. And beat things to a pulp, because, you know…combat etc…

Looking forward to this. Sarn is great.

I like it.

If Alina ever gets class levels majordomo investigator might be a good fit.

Still working on my bard. I should have it. Done this weekend.

Daniel - I’ll check. I have the World of Greyhawk campaign setting books. I’ll see if I can find them.

^^ What he said.

Probably won’t be submitting any thing for this but I just wanted to drop in and say thanks for the guides you’ve done!

Helaman wrote:
So... reroll 4d6 and re-assemble as desired?

I think Reroll and switch one pair of stats.

Eric Swanson wrote:
I could swap out my CON for INT if you want a magic-user in the group ;)

My thoughts are play what you want. Party balance is overrated in my book.

No worries. Thanks for the update.

So…everyone who has revealed their age is 50 or older. That leaves you and me, Obermind…my profile lists my age but is out of date. But how out of date is it? And is the GM the youngest of us all?!? Inquiring minds wish to know! Well, ok, OSW does…

My guess is that OSW keeps his profile pretty up to date so I’m thinking you are 47. As for the GM I do think he is the youngest about 45ish.

Sounds good. I’ll go thief or maybe a multi-class thief of some sort. Unless someone else has their hart set on thief then I’ll pivot to something else.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Once the GM decides about adjusting stats I’ll decide what to play….. luckily probably not a gnome. I am leaning toward something thief related but want to see what everyone else decides as I have several ideas percolating.

Just throwing out some ways I’ve seen stat adjustments work:

Reroll one stat.
Allow minus 2 to one stat to plus 1 to another stat (max -4/+2) no stat adjusted to lower than 8.
Switch 2 stats.
Reroll dice that come up as a 1
Turn one rolled 1 into a 6 (or 4 or 5)

I am also fine with anything else including rerolling (or not doing anything at all).

So, Paladin maybe?

Edit:
Ability Requirements: Str 12, Con 9, Wis 13, and Cha 17
Prime Requisite: Str and Cha 16+

Ah, well. Guess not.

I think you still can as the GM wrote earlier in character creation about “Removing ability and race requirements from individual classes, but keep the XP bonus for high main stat”

Looks like:
STR 12
DEX 16
CON 14
INT13
WIS 12
CHA 10

I don’t see different time zones being an issue. Plus, if I ever get to Europe, Canada, or Australia I’ll have people to visit. :)

Edit: posted while you posted about rolling

4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 4) = 13
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 5) = 20
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 6) = 16
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 6) = 16
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 1, 3) = 13
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 2, 5) = 12

Thanks again for running this!

Here is a bit about me… I’ve been playing rpgs since Jr High in 1982 with basic, expert, and ad&d. Along the way I’ve played a bunch of other systems (Star Frontiers, Boot Hill, Gangbusters, Marvel Superheroes, Traveller, GURPS, Mouseguard, and many more) but fantasy settings are my favorite. I’ve made lifelong friends through gaming and have been playing pathfinder 1e, biweekly, with the same group, and some of our grown kids now, since 2010.

On a personal note I’m a 53 years old male originally from NY but have lived in the Midwest (Indiana) (UTC-5)for the last 28 years. I have 2 kids (one in college) and have been married for 23 years. I too work from home 2-3 days a week. As far as other hobbies go I am a voracious reader, very amateur guitar player, firearms enthusiast, and avid board gamer who likes to cook (I know, my wife hit the jackpot). I also enjoy playing Baldur’s Gate ee on my iPad when I have time.

For pbp I have the time to post everyday and my life is pretty scheduled so I will be able to give you notice of anything that will impact my posting.

Dot. Thinking about some thing bardish

Thanks for the invite!

Looks like fun. See comments below
===========================

These are currently under consideration (compiled from several different sources):

Character Creation
Sounds good to me. Either stat generation method is fine

Miscellaneous
I think dual class for humans only is fine.
Always wanted to try weapon speeds too.
Critical hits & misses yes. Max damage is fine.
Perception stat is worth a try. It can be changed later if needed.

Overall it sounds like fun! Let’s give it a go!

rolling rampage suspended :(

Mostly, the rules will be secondary to the story and the roleplay, so don't fret too much about it. Just bring the adventuring spirit.

With that approach I’ll play anything you run but I think some APs naturally lend themselves to this. My first vote would still be curse of the crimson throne for this reason. However, I haven’t played it so take it for what it is worth.

Nice! I’ve always wanted to play curse of the crimson throne, hell’s rebles, or war for the crown. I’d be interested to see how 2e’s changes affect the social aspects of these APs.

Good luck.

I’ll take a look at it too.
