I'm working on creating a new race with the Advanced Race Guide and I see the various "Spell-like Ability" traits and I can't decide if the sleep spell counts as an "attack," since the ruling for the SLA is "Choose a X-level or lower spell that does not attack a creature or deal damage." Sleep doesn't deal damage, but I'm not sure about the "attack" part and I could use some help.

Thanks,

Skredli.

kevin_video: I apologize for this stat block. Somehow "ooze traits" got taken out of the "Immunity" section. And, for the record, there is no 'i' in the name of the monster. It's "Rellumm," not "Relliumm."

I took a base creature, added a template, and then changed its size and Hit Dice and some stats and honestly, the math just got away from me. I had calculated the DCs and Skills before the size change. Basically, the size change screwed me up. After looking over what you said, your numbers are correct and those are the DCs that should be used. The DCs for Horrible Constriction and Engulf are supposed to be 41.

The DC for the Chaos Aura should be 27, as I was basing it off of Rellumm's Charisma (10+11+6=27).

Hey, guys. I think I'm actually going to sit this one out.

In preparation for my next session, I'm looking at templates to use in order to keep things fresh. One of the templates says that "if [the creature with the template]s spell resistance negates a spell, the creature gains its choice of the following [ability/stat increases]."

The cleric on the team has the Fire domain and the domain power for fire is Fire Bolt, "a scorching bolt of divine fire from your outstretched hand."

Does this Fire Bolt count as a spell in regards to spell resistance? There's nothing in the Core Rulebook that says spell resistance does or does not affect Fire Bolt. My initial inclination is to say that no, it is not a spell, but I'm not entirely sure. Thoughts?
