Iron Priest is obviously tailor-made for the AP, but that might be kinda boring.

Can I give you a really interesting suggestion? Warsighted Oracle. Exotic Weapon Proficiency is a combat feat, meaning you can take it as a move action 4 times per day right off the bat (assuming you will even encounter tech weapons as early as level 3)...and if you choose the Nature Mystery, you can get a touch attack that does serious damage against constructs. You also can get 1) CHA to AC and CMD and 2) an animal companion. 25 points is MORE than enough for pretty much ANY build. Take the Elemental Imbalance curse to gain some interesting spells could be fun as well.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

As someone who is about to move onto book 2 of Kingmaker as a DM...

Intimidate will only be as necessary as your DM decides to make it. Frankly, as written Book 1 really only requires Knowledge (Nature), Perception, Swim, and Survival. Anything else is just gravy. I had to do a lot of tweaking to Book 1 to make something I thought would be really engaging to my players (and be something I actually was excited to DM).

So I'd actually say it's literally dependent on your DM. If your DM changes things to emphasize social interaction, then CHA.

Yeah, I'm regretting telling one of my characters to get Burst of Radiance and another I've pestered to scribe that scroll of Glitterdust into his spellbook...

Don't want to be TOO necro about it, but I think it's pretty relevant. The Deep Marshal is actually a fairly decent archetype for a strength Magus who isn't looking to crit-fish, in my opinion. You lose a single point at low levels, two by the time PFS ends. But in exchange, you gain medium armor at level 1 AND the ability by level 3 to boost your caster level by at least 1 as long as you've got an enchanted weapon OR (I assume; that's how I've been interpreting it) using your arcane pool to enhance your weapon. You'll have at LEAST the same AC as a dex Magus.

This assuming you're comfortable figuring out how an Elf became a Deep Marshal.

First, bumping like that is frowned upon.

Second, I would say it would completely destabilize the game. At the TOP of the Greenbelt? Let's just say that an experiment warps the spire to the top of the Greenbelt. Now Brevoy's civil war will kick off with both groups trying to get sophisticated weapons.

Iron Gods and Numeria to some extent "needs" to exist separate from the Kingmaker setting I think because of the political reality. It's like the movie Bright. How is it possible that magical creatures have been around for at least 2000 years and yet human history (the Alamo, for instance) seems more or less unchanged? I'd say you need to come up with an entirely new backstory as well as plot going forward.

Or Skald! That is even more 1) than the arcane duelist bard. But magician bard is also good if he/she is higher levels. Although Spell Kenning also serves a similar role.

Bard then. My level 4 Skald has effectively a +9 to Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, and Sense Motive and that's not even being fully optimized. The Bard will have 8 more skill points to put into stuff and still have that (my skald has a 14 Cha, his could have more)

I have a game coming up in a couple weeks and I really want to play a Melee combatant that has a lot of skill with pole-arm type weapons

I will begin at level 5 and have no clue were to begin with such a build. I want to have a good DMG out put but have some cool weapon tricks and combat abilities beside just smashing face

Its a 20 point buy game and i need advice on My stats and race

I am not sure if i should try to get a dex build going or if i should just go str with a little Dex

I was wondering if there was any builds that dip a couple levels here there and would make a good build for this?

Going with my username, a Skald would definitely help enhance your party since they are mostly melee characters you said. I'm also going with reach weapons although I'm building towards the Hurtful/Cornugon Smash combo.
