Siraaj stands arms akimbo as he holds firmly onto Dashki as Ahnekhet and Almah get into a somewhat heated discussion. He keeps his grip firm on Dashki as the two discuss matters related to the gnolls inhabiting their midst.

As Almah finishes speaking and waits expectantly for Ahnekhet's response, Siraaj speaks up,

I would just rather run these ragged creatures out from us. Let them live for now, as they do not seem entirely untrustworthy, but I have no desire to team up with these beasts.

Siraaj drags Dashki to the entrance of the monastery and as he yells in his ear, the barbarian becomes visibly angry and slams Dashki up against the wall.

ENOUGH, DASHKI! You have proven you are a traitor with these words! Keep your mouth SHUT, for I will not listen to your insane ramblings any longer. Consider that your only warning!

Siraaj then pulls Dashki off the wall and hauls him indoors.

Siraaj will immediately begin binding Dashki with the rope and then proceed to drag him to back to the monastery!

Exasperated, Siraaj begins to give chase after Dashki.

Charge attack (80 ft. double-move)... CMB to grapple: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

Siraaj growls in anger at Dashki's words and immediately tightens his grip on the man, swinging his other arm over to grasp at Dashki's arms.

Rage
Grapple(CMB): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Bloody well figures.

Siraaj will go with Dashki's lead in that he will stop maintaining the grapple, seeing that the man seems to be resigned at this point. However, he will ready an action to initiate a grapple should Dashki attempt to flee or make any sudden moves.

Siraaj turns to Lotus after she speaks Misunderstanding or not, Dashki is a fool. Even if his intentions were good, he is still siding with mongrels who could turn on us at any moment. They are not to be trusted.

Siraaj continues to escort Dashki to the monastery entrance, staying prepared to forcefully grapple him should he make an attempt to flee.

Siraaj takes advantage of the more subdued Dashki and lets loose of his grip, but continues to lead him towards the entrance of the monastery.

With an less intense tone Speak, Dashki. Why are you working with the gnolls? Why would you bring these filthy dogs to our doorstep in the middle of the night?

Despite the lessening of his grip, he maintains it and readies himself to regain full control over him should he attempt to wrestle free.

CMB: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Yeah, you're right. I was reading under the "If you're grappled" section.

CMB: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Knowledge: Nature 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Errr... unnngh... You will answer for this, Dashki, whatever your aims!

Siraaj will continue dragging Dashki towards the monastery entrance.

Re-reading the rules, it looks like I don't need to roll CMB to maintain grapple; Dashki would need to beat my CMD to break free which is 19.

Siraaj turns his head with a look of disgust on his face as he is far too close to the man's stench for his own comfort. Still, he holds Dashki up against the wall with nearly all his strength.

Pathetic wretch! Do you think we need the likes of those fly-infested dogs to fight at our side?! I'd rather team up with gnomes! Still, I'd trust a Lamia before I believed a word that you say, coward!

With that, Siraaj will take Dashki, in a full headlock, back towards the entrance of the monastery.

He can move up to half his speed, so 20 ft. back in the direction he came.

CMB to maintain grapple if needed: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

No need to think, kill them all! They're gnolls... you hate them!

Siraaj will initiate a grapple with Dashki in an attempt to pin him eventually.

Fool! Your scheme is up, Dashki! You are working with the gnolls! Tell us of their plans! NOW!

Grapple CMB vs. I'm assuming Dashki's flat-footed CMD: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

That's a pretty sweet little spell.

Sage:
Siraaj will lift up his hand, forming it into a fist to signal the two women with him to stop moving. He will then begin to slowly creep towards Dashki.

Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Once he reaches the "skanky fellow," he will ready an action to both rage and then initiate a grapple on Dashki should the man attack him. Also, as he reaches him, he will place a hand on Dashki's shoulder and say in a loud commanding whisper,

Intimidate 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
What are you doing out here, Dashki?

If Siraaj fails to successfully sneak up upon the man, he will also have readied an action to attempt to trip him with his meteor hammer should Dashki threaten him with an attack.

Now, admittedly I don't know if it's legal to ready multiple contingencies depending on what might happen, but after my reading of the rules, I don't see why you can't. I could be wrong though, and it's your call, chief!

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Oh, snap! The siblings snap their heads in whatever direction the daring object of perception-inducing spot-titude is located!

Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Maps are good, they always help to see things out easier. Go for it!

Siraaj moves his meteor hammer over to his left hand, and wraps it up tightly around his palm, preparing it to strike quickly if needed. He takes the lead ahead of Nadia and Lotus and sets a jogging pace until they reach the outside. At that point, he slows down and slides up against the wall, creeping towards the east.

Stealth 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Siraaj will nod at Nadia and Lotus and head off to the east of the monastery to see if they can determine what the gnolls are looking at or for.

Siraaj turns his head to peer out the window one last time before he begins to move towards the nearest entrance.

Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

He listens to Garavel speak to Almah as his brow furrows. His hand brushes over his unconventional weapon, almost to remind himself that it's still there.

Where is the nearest entrance to the chapel? Siraaj will head in that direction to prepare to fight the rats head on. Nadia will follow close behind.

Siraaj lets go of Anekhet's shoulder. Perhaps you are right. If you head off and take the five torch-bearers as easily as you say, then perhaps some of Almah's scouts would be enough to locate Dashki, if he's even here. I am not as stealthy as you, and so I would serve better by being on the front lines of whatever attack is imminent.

Siraaj grasps Anekhet's shoulder with his larger, human hand.

Let us look for the skanky fellow. We'll allow Almah's men to scout for any sign of a flank. I have a feeling we won't find this scum, but we will at least be within earshot of the scouts in case they spot something while we look for him. What say you?

Siraaj stares out the window as he sees what he counts are five gnolls carrying torches in each hand approaching the chapel. He listens to Anekhet speak with Almah, mentioning his theory that the gnolls wish to be seen as they approach.

Anekhet, I think you might be on to something. These gnolls may be a distraction of some form, if they are truly able to see clearly in the dark without any aid of light. I see five so far.

The barbarian grasps at his meteor hammer and removes it from his belt. He wraps it around one hand and allows one end to thud on the hard stone floor.

These creatures are close and they are getting closer. Despite the appearance of mere distraction, they carry weapons. Both ranged and melee. They seek to engage in battle. We must prepare to do likewise. Without delay!

Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Siraaj overhears part of the conversation as he arrives in the hallway. He steps over towards Kallien, folding his arms up on his chest. At her prompting, he follows Almah over to the window and peers out.

Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Siraaj watches Garavel as the he gestures with his head and reveals to the companions the threat which approaches.

He sighs and stands up, picking up his meteor hammer with him. Shaking his head, he chuckles to himself and then looks up at the two men at the door.

Well, what are we waiting for? Let us go send these rodents to whatever foul demon god they worship!

Siraaj, arms crossed, sleeps soundly despite the turmoil raging through his mind. His body is like a statue, solid and without movement, and the look on his face is one of restless determination.

I will worry about our future some other day. He assured himself prior to sitting down to lean up against the corner of the room, closing his eyes after watching his beloved sister lie down on a hard bedroll.

At the knock, he opens his eyes without moving a muscle, and they follow Anekhet as he answers the door.
