"It all began around 7 days after the fires. While there were numerous other protests beforehand, this one was the important for Three reasons. One: It was the biggest organized movement so far, one that couldn't be simply pushed aside by the dotari. Two: It was happening in Aria Park, right outside of Kintargo Opera House. That's the building Barzalli seized to become his personal abode in the city, so he'd have listen to their cries for freedom whether he wanted to or not. Three: It was the first known instance of the city's future saviors gathering together in a single spot."

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Even with the cobblestones of Argent Avenue and the foliage of Aria Park still wet from the morning’s light rain, dozens of Kintargans have gathered along the facade of the opera house to protest the city’s new lord-mayor, Paracount Barzillai Thrune. The city’s new leader was appointed by Her Infernal Majestrix, Queen Abrogail II, in the wake of the previous lord-mayor’s sudden flight from the city—an event that still has local rumormongers whispering furiously. In a scant seven days, Paracount Thrune has instituted martial law, a curfew, and seven outlandish and polarizing proclamations. These actions and more have called many of Kintargo’s dissatisfied citizens here on this overcast morn. There’s been no sign yet of Barzillai Thrune himself, and the opera house’s doors remain tightly closed—as they have since the man chose the landmark as his new home—but judging by the growing sound of the protesters, he surely can’t ignore the scene on the streets below much longer.

All around, different groups of different people screamed and shouted, coming together in a cacophony of chaos in an effort to make their voices heard, their opinions known, their points of view expressed.

"Hell no! Thrune must go! Go back home!" Cried the local partisans, their intent made clear.

"No new taxes! No new taxes!" Whined a gathering of both wealthy merchants and local businessmen, seeking to undo what Barzalli has done to their business.

"What do we want!? Elections! When do we want them!? Now!" Called the advocates, wanting democracy to win out.

"Rise up! Resist! Rise up! Resist!" Spurned the anarchists, trying to goad the crowd into a riot.

"Hell is here to stay! Thrune will lead the way!" Shouted the loyalists, approving of Cheliax's attempt to curb the city's rebel spirit.

While the new Lord-Mayor himself had yet to make an appearance, at least a dozen nervous and edgy dotarri along with a scowling, fiendish-looking human stood in front of the entrance to the building, preventing anyone from entry or approach.

DC 20 Perception Check:
On the balcony, behind a curtain, you can see the figure of a man drinking what appeared to be wine from a glass goblet. This man appeared to be short-haired with a receding hairline, wearing a breastplate with pauldrons and an exceptionally pointed neck-guard big enough to make a paladin jealous. What wouldn't make them jealous was the pentagrams adorning his wear, signifying him as a member of the Church of Asmodeus. Putting two and two together, you could probably tell that this imposing figure of a man was none other than Barzalli Thrune, nonchalantly listening to the protests with little care for their presence.

DM Expositions:
Alright. This is it, people. The game begins with this post. Your tokens are on the map and the map itself (labeled Aria Park Protest) should be in the short description of the campaign. You're free to move them wherever, even moving some of the civilians out of the way if you want to start off in the crowd some place. I'll let you make an initial post or two to establish yourselves before getting on to the proper crunch of the campaign and allowing you to manipulate events to your whimsy. With that out of the way, let the fun begin.

Welcome, my chosen champions of Kintargo. Congratulations for making the cut and thank you for your time. I hope to make this worth your while and full of interest. Feel free to introduce yourselves in greater detail, establish character connections if you wish, all that good stuff while I set up the gameplay thread.

If you need or require certain information about certain characters and your reasoning justifies it, I can PM you a basic list of notable people the PC would logically know about. (i.e Notable nobles for nobles, famous figures for the curious, shopowners, etc.)

With that, have at it and post away.

“Daddy!” a young girl cried, restlessly moving about in her bed. The sun had long disappeared over the horizon, but the world of dreams held no appeal to her. She was waiting for something else, but her patience was wearing thin.

She continued calling and calling, and before long a figure opened the door and peered into the room. “You're up pretty late..." he sighed.

“I can't sleep!” She fussed. "You promised to tell me a story!"

“Did I now?” he questioned, stepping into the room and taking a seat by her bedside. "Well, I'd hate to disappoint my favorite audience." The girl giggled and started bundling up her covers as her father stretched his neck and cleared his throat. "So... what'chu in the mood for tonight, kiddo? Drama? Romance? Adventure?"

"Tell me how you got that funny bird statue!" she requested, pointing at a silver figuring that sat close to her bedside.

The elder gave a chuckle and grabbed it to show it off. "My dear, this 'funny bird' is a lot more then he seems. This is a Silver Raven Figurine of Wondrous Power... and where it came from is quite the tale to tell."

----------------------------------------------------------------------

“It all started with the Silver City of Kintargo. It was a quaint little port that sat along the Cheliax's northern border, in the Archdutchy of Ravonuel. Now, Ravonuel was well-known in the fiendish nation for its silver, salmon, and some of the best artists, actors, and theaters in the Inner Sea. Biggest problems with the place were the giant mountain range cutting it off from the mainland... and its rebellious streak.”

”The city had always stood strong against the Thrice-Damned House of Thrune. Even when the family had done its best to quash its desires for independence, the Kintargans bore the brunt of it and kept trudging on. But it wasn't until Her Infernal Magistrix appointed her cousin Barzillai to the region's leadership that the city's spirit was truly threatened."

"Not long after he took charge, things in the Silver City took a turn for the worse. It started with the disappeance of the city's lord-mayor and a popular opera singer and ended with the destruction of a noble family, a bar popular with dissidents and troublemakers, and said opera singer's music store. This event became known as the Night of Ashes... and the protest that followed marked the beginning of the end."

Welcome one and all to my recruitment thread for Hell's Rebels, the first AP I ever had the pleasure of completing and the one that brought me into the Pathfinder fold. I had a lot of fun with this campaign as a player, so I hope I can share that fun with any who are willing and able to stick it out. As such, I am looking to share it with 4 to 6 players

General Guidelines:
- Minimum 1 post a day. Will be more lenient about this when combat breaks out, but still want things to not come to a complete standstill. We're gonna be in this for the long-haul.

-This game will be rated PG-13. As adults, I expect things to be handled in a mature, respectful, timely, and tasteful matter.

-APs, as published, are considered first drafts. As such, DM fiat will be in full swing here. Some rules will be overlooked (within reason), certain aspects will be changed. and others are optional to change due to player creativity.I can't predict everything you're going to do, so maybe you'll be able to talk your way out of a fight or two. Don't expect it to work for boss fights though.

-Bad formatting and grammar loses you points.

-Basic knowledge of playing is a requirement. Adept knowledge of the lore is good. You needn't be an expert or know everything there is to know because I don't either.

-Have fun. Seriously. If you're not having fun, I'm not doing my job as a GM. If problems are had, come to me about them. We'll work things out somehow.

Character Guidelines:
-20 point buy.

-300 Gold to start.

-No 3pp content please.

-Good/Neutral Alignments. Hearts and minds people. Cooperation and teamwork are the keys to victory in this game.

-Background Skills are a go.

-Item creation feats are allowed so long as it's not abused to all hell. That being said, depending on player actions, your future HQ can have the means to create and upgrade items.

-2 traits. One must be campaign and the other can be anything. One more can be included if a drawback is taken. The more diverse the campaign trait, the better your chances of getting in are.

-No templates, score adjustments due to age, ect.

-I am lenient enough allow optimization, but don't dip heavily or dip more than one stat if possible.

-Core races, Tieflings, Aasimars, and Tengu are allowed. Probably willing to accept nearly any race so long as it's justifiable. If you don't think you can justify it to me, then pick something else.

-Give your character some background. Nothing too detailed to leave things open for later, but enough to pique my interests. Show, don't tell.

-Due to book reasons, you will also need a reason to show up to the protest.

I will wait until 1PM CST next Saturday for applications. Plenty of time to come up with concepts and ideas for your character. Any other question With that said, I look forward to seeing your characters.
