Hi,

I seem to have been missed off the November order for my Pathfinder Companion subscription.

I've checked my emails to see if something went wrong (no emails), and my subscription seems to be active. But there's no order in my account, no book in my mailbox, and no pdf in my downloads; which is annoying as Blood of Beasts is a book I've been waiting for for some time!

Can anyone let me know what's happened please?

Hi all,

The payment method on my subscription will work now, please could you give it another try?

Thanks.

The rage powers provided in Unchained replace the ones found in the core rulebook, and selected powers from the APG & Ultimate Combat. There is also a list of rage powers from these two sources which can also be selected.

Can an Unchained Barbarian take other Rage Powers which appear in other Paizo products, such as Player Companions or the Advanced Class Guide?

The text in Unchained make no specific reference to rage powers from any other product.

As it looks like there isn't going to be an official version of the Ninja updated for the changes in Unchained, i thought I'd go through the class and do it myself.

Alignment, hit dice, proficiencies and class skills should all remain unchanged.

The original Pathfinder Ninja had surprisingly few alterations from the rogue, trap finding is lost for poison use, Evasion makes way for a Ki pool. Trap sense is swapped for No Trace, and rogue talents are swapped with Ninja Tricks. All this could remain the same in an Unchained Ninja.

The only real issue with a Ninja based off an unchained rogue is that the unchained rogue loses trap sense for danger sense. This isn't really a problem though, as we swap the new Danger Sense for No Trace, as it appears at exactly the same place and has the same progression as the old Trap Sense.

So the difference is in the new rogue abilities. All you need to do, is add them in at the same levels the Rogue would have got them. I don't see any of them being thematically out of place on a Ninja, in fact, they all fit perfectly.

The last issue would be Ninja Tricks. Any Ninja tricks which share a name with an existing Rogue talent would have to use the new Unchained version of that talent. And if the Ninja selected the Rogue Talent Ninja trick, then they would be restricted to selecting from the valid Rogue talents listed or mentioned in Pathfinder Unchained (Talents are on pages 20-22 and the sidebar for other talents is on p.24.

Firstly, I'm really sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I did have a good look around first and couldn't find confirmation.

if someone could confirm whether I have this right or not, that would be awesome.

When a PC uses a piece of timeworn tech for the first time in that scenario, the item has a 50% chance of glitching.

Is that also the case for timeworn tech in their possession, I mean on their inventory list, bought, and all that. You roll the 50% chance each scenario. Is that right?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi All,

My payment method is showing as declined due to insufficient funds.

I have checked, and there are the required funds in the account. The card in question is a Visa debit card from a New Zealand bank, and it's not the first time it has been declined by your payment system when there are funds present.

Is there something we can do about this?

Many thanks,

Steve

EDIT:

Have just tried changing payment details on the order, and the system won't let me. It doesn't let me enter the verification number.

Sorry to bother you,

The above order is a subscription and some Golem Sale items, and has been in pending for 8 days. Is it still pending because something's up, or is it the Golem sale items slowing it down?

Thanks very much!

Steve

The spell states that it "is able to affect nonmetal weapons."

And it affects 1 "weapon" per level.

Can this spell be used to affect Unarmed Strikes (which are considered weapons if you have IUS) or Natural Attacks?

Sorry if this seems obvious (it does to me), but several people seem to disagree with me on this one.

Will a Page of Spell Knowledge increase the number of spells prepared for an Arcanist?

The Arcanist Spells ability includes the text:
"Feats and other effects that modify the number of spells known by a spellcaster affect the number of spells the arcanist can prepare."

That wording (to me) suggests that a first level Arcanist could prepare two 1st level and four 0th level spells from their class ability, and an extra spell for using a Page of Spell Knowledge.

Thoughts?

Can a member of an ACG class use an existing Archetype from one of its Alternate Classes, so long as the class has all the components altered or swapped by the Archetype?

So for example; The Bloodrager has the Bloodrage ability (listed as functionally Rage for feats/spells etc) and Fast Movement, so could you apply the Urban Barbarian archetype to a Bloodrager character?

Sorry if this has come up before, I've had a look around but I see nothing.

Sorry if this question has already come up, I couldn't find it when I searched.

I'm running a bunch of 7-11s in my PFS group to give the VC & VL some high level play opportunities. Now although I have a level 9 PC, I'm only planning to apply one of them to that PC.

Now a player playing a pregen could apply a 7-11 chronicle sheet to a brand new 1st level PC with cash reduced to 500gp and access to the boon. Can I do the same thing with my GM credit?

I have a question regarding this item.

[link]http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/a-b/brace rs-of-the-avenging-knight[/link]

The effects of the item for someone with the Smite ability are fairly straightforward, but if you don't have smite it doesn't seem quite right.

The description says if you don't have smite - "once per day she may make one smite attack". Now that attack gets +5 damage, so it's like a 5th level Paladin. So in that way it functions like a Monk's robe & Bane Baldric (which both bestow class abilities on PCs without that class).

But the text says one attack, is that one single attack? One round of attacks? Or a single use of smite ability as a 5th level Paladin?

Given the cost of the item (over 11,000), which is in line with the Monks Robe & Bane Baldric, I would have thought it should give the wearer the Smite ability as per 5th level Paladin. Otherwise it seems a very expensive item for a non Paladin. I know a non paladin could just not buy it, but that's besides the point.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

I know about the Monk's Robe and the Bane Baldrick, but are there any other magic items out there which do the same thing for other class abilities??

Firstly, I apologize for creating another thread about spellstrike.

This may seem a fairly obvious question, and I didn't see any contention regarding it, but there you go. The description of the spell Mirror Strike says you are literally splitting one attack into two, "You briefly alter the flow of time to split a melee attack into two attacks". So,

If a magus casts Mirror Strike, and then in the next round successfully strikes two targets using the Mirror Strike, is all damage attached to that strike equally split? So for example, Weapon Damage + Shocking Grasp (via spellstrike) + any other damage such as sneak attack or weapon quality is all halved and each half applied to the lucky targets.

Is this right?

I thought it would be fairly obviously yes, but others think not.

Liberty's Edge

Hi all, sorry if this has come up before, but I searched & couldn't find anything definitive.

The Advanced Race Guide describes Tengu as follows: "They have broad beaks and both their arms and their legs end in powerful talons."

Now the Claw Attack racial trait is worded:

"Tengus with this racial trait have learned to use their claws as natural weapons. They gain two claw attacks as primary natural attacks that deal 1d3 points of damage, and are treated as having the Improved Unarmed Strike feat for the purpose of qualifying for other feats. This racial trait replaces swordtrained."

Now that trait uses the word "claws", but the description of the Tengu uses the word "talons" to describe both the hand and foot claws.

So my question is this: Do the 2 claw attacks of a Tengu with the claw attack racial trait have to be made with the claws on the Tengu's hands?

The rules in the ARG don't seem to specify.

Regards to all, & thanks for any help.

So for example, would an Arcanist benefit from using a Page of Spell Knowledge, and how?

The description of the item says the page allows you to cast the spell as if it's on your list of known spells. So would it count as prepared for an Arcanist so they could cast the spell using their daily slots?

Does anyone else have any item-class interactions they've spotted?

Can a one-handed weapon with the double quality be used, as a double weapon, in one hand?

If a magus uses Spellstrike on let's say, a spear, and then sets the spear to receive a charge (so the spear does double damage), does the discharging spell also do double damage?

Probably not, but if other modifiers to damage are doubled... why not this?

Sorry if this has come up before, or if I'm asking a dumb question but….

If a climbing PC loses their Dex modifier to their Armor Class (because they "can't move to avoid a blow"), then why does a mounted character still get their Dex modifier to their AC?

Their movement is certainly hampered, they're sitting in a saddle. Maybe it's not hampered as much as when you're clinging to a wall, but your movement is definitely restricted.

Or does a mounted character get their full Dex modifier to AC? Have I missed something?

Or do the rules not say either way??
