Unchained Barbarian Rage Powers

Rules Questions

2 people marked this as FAQ candidate.

The rage powers provided in Unchained replace the ones found in the core rulebook, and selected powers from the APG & Ultimate Combat. There is also a list of rage powers from these two sources which can also be selected.

Can an Unchained Barbarian take other Rage Powers which appear in other Paizo products, such as Player Companions or the Advanced Class Guide?

The text in Unchained make no specific reference to rage powers from any other product.

Sorry for the resurrection from the dead, but I have a question regarding Rage Powers for the Barbarian Unchained. It concerns the Lesser Spirit Totem power. It doesn't say how many spirits surround the Barbarian nor the amount of damage they do. In one reference it says they do 1d4 of negative energy, and in another it is listed as 1d4-4. So which is it?

Well, for this one ...

These spirits make one slam attack each round against a living foe that is adjacent to the barbarian. This slam attack is made using the barbarian's full base attack bonus, plus the barbarian's Charisma modifier. The slam deals 1d4 points of negative energy damage, plus the barbarian's Charisma modifier.

'Spirits' are a general collection of them, and you get ONE slam out of the entire collection of them. It does 1d4+Cha, so that 1d4-4 source is rocking a 2 Charisma or something.

As far as the original question? I don't actually think any rage powers have come out post-Unchained. If they have, it'll likely be up to table variation at that point. General guideline: if the theme doesn't change, and it isn't a 1/rage thing, it should be OK.
