With heroism, if Sharton takes 10 on Spellcraft he can get a 36 +1d6, let's call it a 39 average. This pales in comparison to Ezren's +40, so his Take 10 is a whopping 50! Identify tomorrow can add another +20 for each wizard, which should be far beyond anything necessary.

We'll definitely want both wizards' spellbooks and the sihedron book.

Sharton disappears and then reappears in the air above the platform where we arrived.

If you have true seeing up you know that it's an illusory projection of Sharton, much like the ones that Karzoug was casting spells through back in the tower.

"He's somewhere down here, starting in an arc wrapping around in front of me and between here and the cavern entrance, but I can't see him. I know he has mind blank so magical searching won't work if he's invisible. Let's find him!"

Sharton's projected image location and actions depends on the answer to my question about the invisibility purge, which is why he tried to go invisible first. If Sharton goes invisible, he can be pretty sure Karzoug is over 100 feet away. If he's still in the purge zone then Karzoug is closer to us than we'd like. Sharton will also glance at Griff's last location to see if he's still visible or has gone back to invisible. If Sharton is invisible but Griff is still visible, that will really narrow down Karzoug's possible location. Just how far does the cavern go?

To speed things up, if Sharton fails to go invisible then the projected image will be at C*12 and focused back toward the group, looking up and down as well as into the nooks and crannies to the sides. If he does go invisible then he'll project out to A*12 but focused away from the group.

As a swift action, Sharton reactivates his greater invisibility and then moves a little south. Are we still in the radius of Karzoug's invisibility purge?

Sharton pulls out a Sharton action figure and casts project image, creating an illusory duplicate of himself at the far end of the cavern floating in the air above the cloud. Using the duplicate's senses, he looks around to see if Karzoug is hiding in some nook or cranny down there. He could also be in the cloudkill. Is the location of the cloud on the map accurate?

Don't forget about the summoned azata with inspire courage, +2 to attack and damage. On top of all the other buffs, and those that temporarily don't work, etc. :-)

It would certainly help move this along, if you're OK with using such a valuable spell on daylight. We can proceed either way but Karzoug will still get at least one more turn. We have two equally effective plans right now.

We've all acted. I believe Sharton just went last with the passwall, then the imp came out of delay and shot a magic missile, and now we're waiting on Karzoug. Grognar is the first to go after that. No idea what Karzoug's going to do this round. If Grognar can't attack Karzoug, I believe he should delay until after Sharton casts daylight, then let Ezren have first shot at the dispel. If that doesn't work Grognar might want to come out of delay to dispel the wall or let Sharton take a shot at it, but hopefully it'll be gone and you fighter types can go to town on Karzoug!

I'd hate to see anyone use a 7th or 9th level slot on it. It really depends on what Karzoug is about to do. If he comes out Grognar should obviously attack him and I'll do the shadow evocation daylight.

Even if Grognar has nothing better to do on his turn, maybe he should delay because you guys all have better caster levels than Sharton and will have a better chance on the dispel attempt. I'll do the daylight then you guys come off delay to start dispelling.

Sharton can cast daylight using shadow evocation (I know, it seems completely counterintuitive, to cast a shadowy daylight, lol), but if the rest of you knock down those colors then we can start trying to dismiss the wall, which will probably take some strong rolling to beat Karzoug's caster level.

Sharton taps into his bonded item in order to prep passwall from his spellbook, then moves forward above the globe of invulnerability to get within 20' and casts it so that it tunnels into the prismatic wall.

"Someone cast a magic missile at the wall, then daylight, and last we have to dispel it!"

Utterly impressive work taking down a pit fiend in a matter of seconds!

Dropping his invisibility, Sharton casts his other disintegrate near Karzoug, but intentionally just missing and hitting the prismatic wall instead to eliminate the yellow color.

Is the cloudkill cloud still where it is on the map? It should be moving away, but if it's still there Sharton can just reach it in one move action and can hide inside. Assuming it's 30-40 feet further away, Sharton will fly and hide behind the big pool of molten golden whatever, or behind the big green crystal above it. Hopefully those are too valuable to Karzoug for him to attack me there.

Staying invisible, Sharton casts cone of cold at the wall and catching the devil, too, knowing that Grognar is safe inside his source severance bubble.

He yells out "Gust of wind is needed next!" and then moves down and closer to the throne, lining up behind Grognar and his bubble so that any arcane effect from the devil will be blocked. If you can't beat it, use it to your advantage!

Cone of cold: 15d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 1, 2, 4, 5, 5, 3, 2, 5, 5, 1, 3, 5) = 52 cold damage, DC 25 Ref for half, but the primary purpose is to take out the red color of the wall

Spell penetration vs pit fiend: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (14) + 20 = 34

While I'm at it, Knowledge planes: 1d20 + 29 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 29 + (6) = 38 for the pit fiend. DR, special attacks.

Source severance, very interesting spell I wasn't familiar with. Does it block line of effect of an arcane area of effect spell, or just suppress it as it passes through that particular globe but then the spell continues out to its natural area?

Sharton wants to ready greater shout, hoping to catch both Karzoug and the rune giant. However, Karzoug is the priority. There's a small chance he could be stunned, plus the damage will force a concentration check and the deafness requires a separate spell failure chance. Where Sharton currently is he can easily catch both foes and Grognar should be protected in his bubble, so when Karzoug moves to cast a spell he'll be outside of the source severance. Would Grognar's spell block the greater shout from hitting Karzoug like a boulder blocks sunlight, or would it wash harmlessly through Grognar's bubble and still be at full effect on the far side? Knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 22 + 1d6 ⇒ (12) + 22 + (6) = 40 to know, +4 if Spellcraft is more appropriate.

If necessary, Sharton will move to the far side of the rune giant and ready his spell (move speed 70' with haste), but after getting critted by the other rune giant he really doesn't want to get that close.

Dice rolling:

Greater shout: 10d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 6, 6, 5, 6, 5, 4, 4, 3) = 46 sonic damage, 1 round stun, and 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6, 5) = 17 rounds deafened. Fort 28 for half damage, no stun, and half duration of deafened.
If necessary, Karzoug spell penetration: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (16) + 20 = 36
If necessary, Rune giant spell penetration: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (18) + 20 = 38

Edit - It's all moot if Karzoug steps behind his prismatic wall by the time he comes out of Grognar's bubble, since he'd be protected from all forms of attack. In that case, Sharton would prefer to cast cone of cold at the wall to tick off the Red color instead, but he can't ready two spells. I guess he'll cast greater shout either way (moving if necessary to set it up), even if Karzoug is behind his wall, to help take down the giant. Sharton will also tick off another round of greater invisibility.

Sharton moves forward, focusing his arcane sight on Karzoug and trying to decipher what auras he has on him. His actions will depend on the results of his analysis. He's not doing the "study as a standard action" part of the spell, he's quite convinced that Karzoug is an arcane caster of the highest power.

He is considering feeblemind, greater shout as a readied action when he gets within 60 feet, or greater dispel magic, either as a counterspell or to try to knock down some of the runelord's buffs. However, Karzoug is probably well protected and Sharton doesn't want to be on the receiving end of an unpleasant surprise.

How many of these do I need to roll? It's one per aura.

Don't forget the +2 to initiative for being "underground" in this large cavern. I copy-and-pasted all the benefits of Grognar's Hunter's Blessing into the Party Buffs spoiler just above, since I couldn't remember what it did, either.

I had to look back to see what Hunter's Blessing does. A +2 sacred bonus on Bluff, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks attempted against creatures of the selected type, a +2 sacred bonus on attack rolls and damage rolls made against creatures of that type, and +2 sacred bonus on initiative checks, Perception, Stealth, and Survival checks while in the type of terrain designated.

As a swift action, Sharton overwrites his vanish with greater invisibility, then with his persistent metamagic rod casts phantasmal killer on the dragon. DC 24, roll twice per save.

Spell Penetration: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (4) + 20 = 24

After that he flies up and back left off the platform.

Griff, if you want haste you'll need to drop your invisibility for a few seconds.

When everyone has finished last minute buffs, Sharton will cast haste after giving Griff time to drop out of invisibility, then he'll cast vanish right before joining the party as we (presumably) enter the globe.

He wants to be invisible in case Karzoug is waiting for us, but he doesn't want to use up his valuable rounds of greater invisibility if this doesn't work or we end up having to travel.

Sharton will cast true seeing combined with arcane sight to see if there's some way to gain access to the inside of the globe.

Obviously, there's no way in. Is the globe actually solid? Sharton will cast resist sonic just to complete the list, warn everyone what he is going to do, and then try to reach into it, relying on the fire resistance to protect him from being burned.

Sharton activates his greater invisibility as a swift action and plunges into the fog. He double move flies to the far side, moving to about 30 feet up assuming the ceiling in this giant-sized building allows it, and does a quick glance around. On the next round he'll probably cast arcane sight to analyze the sphere, unless the battle requires his attention (which seems unlikely if there are only three giants).
