Do we have to apply with the same concept as in the original? Somehow I don't think my ranged character will get picked over chillblame's.

Glad to hear you have your meds sorted out. I imagine that would be quite frustrating to find out the meds you expect to help you are having the opposite effect.

"Your statements would indicate you dont know much about the history between dwarves and orcs. I dont think either would save the other, it would be one less they would have to kill themselves. Bur I'm not a murderer, so I dont have a problem leaving them here to let the dungeon finish them off. They dont look like they have any fight left in them so I don't see them as much of a threat. If you insist on them coming along, they will be your responsibility to watch over them.

"Huh, well I'll be. Never knew some of them were smart enough to learn to speak something I could understand. Like I said, not used to talking to them," he says surprised that the orc can speak common.

He nods in agreement to questioning the orcs for information but doesn't divert his gaze from them until the halfling speaks up. Stunned, he looks over at the halfling like he just suggested that ale was bad for you. "You may not have a bias, but I certainly do. Unless they're going to walk in front of us to set off any traps, I'm not interested. From the looks of it, that's probably all they're good for anyway. They can't be trusted and would turn on us at the first chance," he says defiantly.

Shae stops when he sees the orcs and eyes them warily as he clutches his battle axe. "Can't say I've seen orcs in this shape before. Normally they would have attacked as soon as they saw us. I wonder how long they've been here. I'm used to fighting them, not talking to them. Can any of you communicate with them?" he asks his companions, never taking his eyes off the orcs.

"I assume who or what is out there can see our light and is either sitting in darkness or has darkvision. Perhaps beginning a dialog will reduce the chance for a hostile interaction. Does anyone object?" he says looking at the group.

World's Largest Dungeon - sweet! I was wondering if that was the case with that doorway. Fitting that I ended up the cleric. Shae gets another chance at the dungeon. I played the same character through a few encounters back in 2016. Tried to use Roll20 for mapping, showing only the area we were in and I know I felt lost.

I hope Thomdril reconsiders.

Granted it doesn't appear we have any other options than to step into the darkness, I hope this group is always charging ahead without investigating first. I'd be spending a lot of time healing them up, Shae thinks to himself before following the others.

Relieved to find everyone is still alive, he scans the barren room. As he picks up the torch he threw, Shae hears the cough and quickly looks in the direction of the noise.

"Seems we are not alone. Let's be careful," he says to the others. He waits for Gertrude or Linx to lead the way, and follows, battleaxe in hand.

Shae watched as the gnome created light. "That seems familiar. I wonder if that has something to to with these words going through my head, " he says as he picks up a torch and starts to recite the words he referred to. Suddenly, a ball of light appeared at the end of the torch.

"Well I'll be," he said with a smile. "Let's test something out." He walked over to the doorway and tossed the torch through, trying to see what happens to the light.

Shae looks around at the assembled group. "Does everyone have everything, or at least something? I have a sense of a strong connection to some greater being and I have a holy symbol in my backpack so I must be some sort of holy person. Hopefully more will come to me as we go along."

He points to the door by the racks. "It looks like this is the only way out. Anyone have an the ability to check for traps?"

While he waits, he tries to peer through the opening at what is beyond.

A dwarf sits up, grabbing his head in pain. What the ... What did I drink last night? Wait a minute, I don't remember anything from last night. What happened and where am I?" he thinks to himself as he looks around the room, noticing the current situation.

Even more confused than before now that he realizes he's a prisoner, he tries to clear his head enough to remember what happened to him, but his memory is blank.

As the floating skull explains the situation, his demeanor sours. Is this for real or am I dreaming? This seems too elaborate to be a prank. How did this happen?" he thinks as he gets up once the chains fall off. He walks over to the equipment, glancing at the faces of the others to see if it helps jog his memory.

"I'm not sure how we got here, but it appears we will need to work together to get out. You can call me ... well, I don't remember my name. I guess just call me Dwarf for now," he says as he looks over the equipment to see if anything looks familiar.

Shae nods his head in agreement. "Yes, it appears that this was several battles, so something could still be out there. Do you recognize any of these creatures?" he says pointing to the strange hyena-like creature, the strange insect-like birds, and the flat, octopus-like creatures specifically.

Once he gets his answer, he points to the door to the north. "Let's start with the door next to the one we came through. Jamadar, can you do the honors?"

Shae listens to Jamadar's report on the layout of the room. "I'd rather not have these doors at my back. Let's at least check them first before moving on to the others," he whispers. "Does anyone recognize any of these odd creatures?" he adds.

Before moving on, Shae inspects some of the bodies nearest him, trying to determine if this was one big battle and these creatures killed each other, or if this was a series of smaller battles and these creatures were killed by something else which may still be out there.

Assuming there is only 1 suit of dwarf-sized chain mail ...

Shae smiles when he sees the suit of chain mail his size. Just as he starts to reach for it, he remembers their new found companion, Klevum, and calls him over. As he walks up, Shae sizes him up. "Look what I found," he says, pointing to the armor. "It looks like both of us could use this, but I imagine you could use it more. The armor you have on now would be an improvement over mine."

Shae dons his new armor and takes the heavy shield, leaving his old armor and shield in its place. He glances around the room again, making sure he didn't miss anything and then looks over his new equipment. He then says a prayer to Bolka and sends healing energy out to the group.

He looks around the group to see how everyone is faring and then turns to Jamadar. "How are you feeling after that jolt? Do you feel you can continue now, or do you require more healing?'

Shae wanders around the room looking at the various equipment. He finds a light crossbow and a quiver of bolts that he takes. He then looks to see if he can find a heavy shield and a suit of armor that will fit him and give him better protection.

Would want breastplate, chain, or scale.

Shae instictively pulls turns his head and closes his eyes at the sight of the flash. Upon hearing the crackle and Jamadar's groan, he turns to see him slumped on the floor. He pulls him out of the doorway in order to treat him. First, he calls on Bolka to bring Jamadar back to consciousness.
