4714 AR
15th day of Rova

The City of Tephu, also known as the City of Reed People, is surrounded by tall, swaying papyrus reeds and towering orchards of date palms. Teeming with movement and commerce, the city is known for two main things: its papyrus trade and the Great Library. The former places Tephu as one of the most wealthy cities in Orision. The latter contains millions of words of recorded history and academic texts all carefully collated and cross indexed and draws visitors from all over Golarion.

This morning you find yourselves at the modest estate of Irizi Evenglow, a well known halfling scholar in Tephu and financially successful rug merchant. She is a well known devotee of Desna, who has a reputation of hiring adventurers to advance her scholarly pursuits. She has hired each of you in the past and always maintained a professional, if not friendly, relationship with each of you, impressed by your martial and intellectual skills.

You received a summons from Irizi to appear at her estate today this morning as a personal favor and you have complied. You have all been escorted to a study in Irizi's home by her servants and requested that you await her presence. The room has a homely feel of having been lived in and visited often and contains several figurines in honor of Desna and the halfling's free spirit.

Feel free to introduce your character to the rest of you. With his Knowledge (local), Marius immediately recognizes the other adventurers present by their reputations. Anyone trained in this skill can make a DC (12) check to know about the other players.

Hello all, congratulations on your selection! Feel free to create your aliases and finalize your characters. You can edit your character sheet as you see fit to complement the party. Please format your main stats in the Race/Class Tabs to help me view your main stats without clicking on your profiles. Any questions, please let me know. Let's have fun!

Hey all, I'm back! I love high level play but don't have the patience for running the AP's first 2-3 books (that's months, if not years, on the boards) before getting to the meaty action. So why not jump into it at 9th level, a good juicy part where the power level is still manageable? So the AP for this game is The Mummy's Mask - gotta love the desert motif and mummy madness! Looking for a band of 4-5 brave adventurers who like exploration, rp, and combat! The party will not have run through the prior books of the AP. The game will start out in Tephu.

Character creation guidelines:
20-point buy - no stat lower then 8 after racial adjustments.
9th level
Posting rate: At least once a day
No VMC/No elephant in the room
Background skills in effect.
Alignment: Play well in a group
HPs: Max + 1/2+1 per level
2 traits, one must be campaign. No drawbacks.
Wealth level for 9th level: 46,000 gp
Classes: No summoner and no occult classes.
Races: Core only.
Personality: Have some - provide a brief history (1-2 paragraphs): why you're in Osirion, what makes you tick, and how you've made your living so far. Also discuss your appearance - people from this region are quite colorful in their demeanor and manner of dress. There are not too many European shining knights around here - at least not with the stereotypical look.

Any questions, let me know. I will leave recruitment open for a week to give you plenty of time. Hope there's interest.

Introductory Post

18th day of Erastus 4713 AR

Demons have ruled the Worldwound for over 100 years, since the death of Aroden and the opening of the Worldwound in 4606 AR. Fearsome fiends of every stripe—their mottled skin harder than iron, teeth like serrated blades, and eyes burning with Abyssal flames— roam the ruined lands that were once known as Sarkoris, leaving their mark wherever they go. Four Mendevian crusades have attempted to cleanse the land, but each seems to meet a worse fate than the last. Were it not for the line of magical wardstones along the eastern and southern borders, the demons would have long ago overrun northcentral Avistan and beyond.

The Fourth Crusade didn't really end six years ago as much as it petered out, yet some refuse to accept that. Though the demonic occupation of the Worldwound is growing, as is corruption among the crusaders, a dwindling minority of paladins and priests maintain that the Fifth Crusade, whenever it starts, will be a game-changer.

Some excitement has been begun to build in Kenabres, however — Armasse is only a month away! Traditionally an opportunity for scholars and priests to come together to study the lessons of history from wars past, since Aroden’s death, this holy day has become more about training commoners in weaponry, choosing squires, and ordaining new priests. Over time, Armasse has grown to encompass jousting competitions, mock duels, battle reenactments, and other festival events. In Kenabres, the festival (which takes place on 16th day of Arodus) is eagerly anticipated, for it provides distractions from the horrors of being on the front line of this apparently losing war effort.

Welcome to those chosen! Feel free to introduce yourselves to the rest of the party, ask any questions, and finalize your characters. I know the party is lacking arcane support, so I am open to any ideas.

The plot hook I have for this game is that you've all been recruited by the Kenabres government to form a "holy squad" to aid in the battle against the forces of the Worldwound and root out evil. Hope that works with your character concept.

Hey all! I saw this recruitment for a similar campaign a few years ago but the game died out shortly after character selection. Now with the success of the video game, the time is now to refresh the idea (have permission from the original poster to run this). The thematic pitch for a WotR recruitment: an all Aasimar party of four gestalt (non-mythic) characters fighting the forces of the Worldwound! The beginning of the AP will be different also from those familiar with this AP or video game - no fighting maggots and cave vipers, flies, etc.

Character creation guidelines for 1st level characters:

1. Races: Aasimar only - variant heritages in play (variant abilities will be rolled if you are selected)
2. Attributes: 20 point buy
3. Gold: 300 gp
4. Background skills in place
5. Alignment: Good only
6. HPs: Max at 1st level
7. Classes: All Paizo sources allowed as long as you can reasonably tie them to campaign.
8. Traits: 1 trait and 1 Campaign
9. Post your timezone. I am in EST.
10. Gestalt rules.
11. Looking for four characters.

Character submission: Physical description with emphasis on your otherworldly nature (images from internet are encouraged)- background dealing with your Aasimar nature and heritage - motivations to adventure? - outlook on life? - what makes you tick? Are you hated or loved or ignored by the populace?

Hope there’s interest in this.

Year 4715 AR, 10th day of Rova

Deep in the bowels of Janderhoff, the sound of your boots resonate off the stone floors as you make your way down the halls, passing dwarven armed guards at their posts. Each of the guards nod at you as you pass, certainly aware of the prestigious honor that you each merit as members of the Sentinels, an elite dwarven band responsible for the safety of the Citadel and the region's protectors.

Two massive dwarven double doors open in front of you, revealing the All-Seeing Chamber, a room you have become quite familiar with, since you joined the Sentinels a year ago. It is after all in this room where you receive your orders and missions. You see the familiar circular table with five chairs arranged around it, ale and treats laid out on the table for your enjoyment. You look around and see the familiar faces of your fellow Sentinels. It seems your last 2 weeks of reserve duty are over...time to jump back into the action!

Feel free to dot and make an introductory post, with your physical appearance, mannerisms, thoughts, and anything else you would like to contribute.

Hello all! I am looking forward to a fun game. You may alter your skills, traits, equipment, etc. to fill any deficiencies. When you're complete, let me know so I may review your sheets. Any questions, please let me know!

Hey all! I love dwarves and would like to run a dwarven-centric reskinned Giantslayer Adventure Path for a party of dwarves from Janderhoff (Mindspin Mountains). Looking for a band of 4 brave dwarves!

Character creation guidelines:
20-point buy - no stat lower then 8 after racial adjustments.
6th level
No VMC
Alignment: Play well in a group
HPs: Max + 1/2+1 per level
2 traits, may be but do not have to be campaign traits from GS AP. No drawbacks.
Wealth level for 6th level
Classes: No summoners or occult classes.
Races: Dwarves only!

I hope people are open to this idea. I think it will be fun! Any questions, let me know.

Please assist on how to unlink game thread for my RotRL game on these boards.

Welcome all! Let's have some fun!

I've decided to run Rise of The Runelords, Anniversary Edition. Yes, I know this is the oldest AP and must have been played to death here on the boards. But strangely, I've never run this game in any form and would like to do so as it was intended: Core races and 15 point buy. I've never run an AP like this either so very intrigued. I'm running a high level game on these boards, so want to run a low-level one too.

I'll be looking for four characters with an accurate statblock, interesting personality, distinct appearance, and some tie to Sandpoint. No need to post an alias - a summary is sufficient.

Character Creation Guidelines:

Races: Core races only.

Classes: Core, Base, Hybrid, and Unchained classes as detailed on PSRD.

Alignment: No evil.

Stats: Stats will be generated via 15 point buy, with no stat below 8 after racial modifications.

Traits: Three traits can be chosen, one must be a campaign trait. No drawbacks.

Gold: Average.

HPs: Max for 1st level.

Will leave recruitment open for 1 week or until I have enough applications. If I amend the deadline, I will post a clear notice. Any questions, let me know.

Prelude....

And so it was that Tar-Baphon was cast from the heights of Gallowspire, his
smoldering body still clutching the sliver of the Shield of Aroden as his spirit
retreated to his phylactery somewhere far beneath the dark tower. The great
high-priest Narthoc, most blessed of Aroden, stepped forward past the wounded
General Arnisant and drew down the three great seals fashioned on high, saying unto
his hosts: “Take these seals far from these dead lands, into the world of the living
where the undead cannot venture. May they pass beyond the immortal sway of
this imprisoned tyrant, so that he may never come forth again.”

—Penned recollections of the squire Adolfus Drusilliath, 3827 AR

And so it begins.....

Congratulations to those selected and looking forward to a fun game. Please introduce yourselves, discuss your characters, etc. You can make small edits - i.e. change feats, skills, spells, etc. to be a more in-tune party. However, you cannot edit your class/race/etc. I know it's going to be hard without a cleric but you have some channel energy. I am sure you will make it work.

High level play is a lot of numbers crunch, so please try to assist me as much as possible. I love links to uncommon feats, abilities, spells, magic items. In combat, please post your modifiers and penalties to hit and damage as well as any buffs.. Also format your characters with hps, ac, saves, perception, etc. to make it easy for me to just take a view at your character profile and not have to click on your sheet.

I will roll for initiative/perception/etc. to speed things up and keep the game moving.

Also decide if you would like to be strangers or a members of an existing party at the intro to the game in Caliphas.

Any questions, let me know!

Hi all, I am 20 year veteran of RPG fantasy games but new to these boards. I really enjoy high level play. but realize that PbP games take years to reach the "sweet spot" levels I enjoy if I started this campaign from 1st level. I don't have the patience...lol. So I thought to just jump to the conclusion of the Carrion Crown campaign, where the payers have to prevent the rise of the Whispering Tyrant! Sure, it may not be fun for some players to design 12th level characters from scratch, but I hope you can indulge me. Looking for 4-5 players who can post daily at least once. I promise consistency, fun, vivid action, and fair play.

Character creation guidelines:
Races: CRB + aasimar + tiefling + Dhampir
12th level
20 point buy
Alignment: No evil - I like heroic characters and this AP really shines for the valiant characters standing against the forces of evil/undeath.
Wealth: 108,000 gp (no more than 40k can be spent on one item)
Background skills in effect
No VMC
No 3rd party
2 traits (do not have to be tied to this campaign)

Basic plot: The players, an established adventuring group of heroes, have been contacted to prevent the rise of the Whispering Tyrant and save humanity.. you know, the normal plot for high level games! ;) The party starts in Caliphas in Ustalav.

Concept: Looking for character's appearance, brief history and the moment that defined your character as a hero/anti-hero, and why you would be interested in preventing the Whispering Tyrant's rise. What actions have you done to garner the attention of the power players in the world? Let me know your time zone also. I am in EST.

Recruitment will end in 2 weeks or sooner if I receive enough qualified applications. I will post 48 hours in advance if I change the deadline. Let me know if you have any questions.
