I'll go ahead and drop out at this point. Quite honestly, I've gone on posting sprees and been quite patient when either the GM or other players are slow to post. It's the nature of pbp. I'm finding myself annoyed at being told to post more often or seeing the game canceled twice in as many weeks.

I also agree with Ardan in that feedback is often vague and difficult to interpret. Sorry folks, maybe I'm getting crochety in my old age, but I feel like I know when to just walk away, and I think this is it for me. Good luck everyone, in your gaming lives and in your RL endeavors!

Sebbik nods at Ardan and Kol, is that a gleam in his blood-red eyes? "I myself had a fair amount of luck at the game earlier. Perhaps it will carry over into the tournament. At the very least, maybe we can find our quarry there if nothing else."

Sebbik is good with that idea, while the others are using the Force to find Donavann's trail.

Sebbik grins at Ardan, or at least the human think it's a grin. Very hard to tell with a duros, after all. "Well, it wasn't so difficult, after all, you see the video feeds are all routed through..." The slicer continues to chatter as he continues to work, and the noble might notice it's an unusual thing for the duros to be this talkative. Perhaps it's a nervous tic or the like, he might decide. In any case, Sebbik does what he can to hack into the flight manifest, now that he's at least got his foot in the door of the network, so to speak. He is determined to figure out where that particular shuttle was headed and when it left.

This task is proving difficult, and eventually Sebbik stops talking and focuses on his work.

Tempting to use a Force Point again... but I'm thinking I'd better save what I've got - maybe this is enough to get us something anyway.

Sebbik gives a nod to Ardan and Waylon's suggestions and ignores the two strangers. It seems those mysterious individuals will have to search for Donavaan on their own. "I can see to the camera feeds, perhaps we can see where they went - whether toward another ship here in the landing bay or somewhere else in the station."

The duros helps as best he can, being unable to detect the missing Jedi through the Force - though he idly wonders if his mother might have been able to help. Instead the slicer does what he does best, trying to hack into the station's database to find some video feeds that show the other areas of the landing bay as well as the adjoining corridors. Maybe he'll get lucky...

Again, using the Master Slicer ability to allow me to use the better roll. Hmm... Going to go ahead and use a Force Point to give that second roll a boost over 30. Or... even better! To 35!

If that's the decision, Sebbik will go along with it. As a non-Force user, he will see if he can hack into the database in order to try to grab some video feeds that might help us track down a direction they went.

I'm a little torn... OOCly, I know that these strangers are strong in the Light path of the Force, even though Waylon hasn't mentioned it yet ICly, so Sebbik has no clue. Are we not going to trust these two? Doesn't seem like they're involved with the Inquisitor that was hunting us down.

In the gameplay thread, the options seem to be doing more of the same that we've tried already - that is, asking random people what they've seen and/or trying to hack the security feeds - though now our target is Donavaan.

If we're not going to trust these Light Force strangers, then I guess Sebbik will go along with the idea, but it seems like looking for a needle in a haystack when we could simply show our video and see what the newcomers think. Maybe they'll have an idea?

I'm up for continuing, especially now that tax season is over! As a player I was feeling a bit lost recently in terms of how to advance the plot, but seems like we have a good lead now. At least, if we trust these strangers who seem to be strong in the Light side of the Force.

Sebbik shakes his head as he watches the video feed. "Whoever this is seems to either be working with Donavaan or, more likely, did something to his mind to compel him to follow without any resistance." He looks to the others. "If these two that have come seeking our friend are not allied with the Inquisitor, perhaps they can assist us in finding him now that he's gone... elsewhere?"

Though Sebbik is not privvy to Waylon's knowledge, at least not yet, I'm thinking we need to put some trust into these two strangers and get their help. They might know this hooded figure, or might have some other means of tracking Donavaan. I mean, they tracked him to us, right?

Seeing the others now moving into the ship, Sebbik moves away from his place of hiding, his hand away from his weapon, as he follows. He pauses as the one pulls back his hood, revealing his alien features.

Sebbik will play a few games of sabbac with the seed money he was given, mostly trying to learn the game and also keep an eye out for their quarry.

I'll make a couple rolls, one general INT roll for gaming (if needed) and another for Perception in case I run across him OR hear talk about him.

Sebbik frowns, which really isn't much of a change of expression on the duros' face. "The docking information has been erased. Looks like we'll need to venture down to the docks if we want to find it - but that could take days, unless we find a helpful dockhand." He glances at Ardan. "A bribe might help, but as I recall, the port authority didn't seem very helpful until we paid a heavy fee for the privilege. And if they paid for protection, our efforts might gain unwanted attention. Though a sizable bribe might do it as there seems to be a strong sense of corruption here."

Thinking a big bribe might be needed to pin down the ship's location. I'd suggest whoever has the best Gather Information add a large bribe to get a bonus to the roll.

Sebbik nods distractedly at Waylon's offer. Still, it seems working with computers is preferable to the Duros. He does what he can to access the data they need, and accompanies Waylon when he isn't working. Sebbik tries out a few games of sabbac, in case that cover story is ultimately needed. Learning the nuances of the game would probably be advisable

"Good thinking. Why don't you and I head out and see what we can find. Thanks to Ardan, we have some funds to spend." If the others are in agreement, the duros suggests they meet at one of the fancier restaurants later that evening.

Sebbik will spend the time sitting at tables every now and again, sharing the chips that Ardan purchased with the human Jedi, though his bets are restrained and small so he doesn't punch into his funds very much. He will spend more on tips (or bribes) to the various dealers and servers, telling them he's looking for a friend he wants to surprise, having recently arrived with no idea of where he might be.

Will see if he can find the majordomo with a Gather Information (Locate Individual) check, and will roll a Persuasion as well to try and minimize the amount of 'bribes' he needs to spend, if he gets a lead. Also just keeping a sharp eye out, so rolling a Perception also.

The duros nods in agreement. "We should try that first before resorting to methods that might bring us trouble. Though I think we should go in pairs. Just in case..."

Maybe spread out, but go in pairs in case we run into trouble? Perhaps Kol with Ardan, Sebbik with Waylon and Dreams with Donavaan? Thinking we just do Gather Information at this point, to try and 'Locate Individual' [find a specific person or someone with a specific skill, possibly using small to moderate bribes [DC = Variable]; Can take 10, can’t take 20 – a successful persuasion check can reduce the monetary cost, each check involves 1d6 hours]. Then we've got three groups, each with some money to spend on bribes (the two nobles and Sebbik, who was already bankrolled by a very kind Ardan.)

Sebbik grins at Kol, which is a bit creepy given his sharp teeth and the fact his facial expression is normally quite impassive. "A good idea. They're certain to have such security measures in a place like this. Could be tricky though... and if we're caught, getting tossed out would be the very best option we could hope for." Still, the duros likes the plan and tries to assess the best way to go about it.

That idea definitely has possibilities! How about it, Quen? Can Sebbik look into slicing into the security cameras?

Yes, pretty much posing as gamblers and keeping an eye out as Kol says. If Ardan can bankroll some funds to play, Sebbik will step forward to try his hand at the game to maintain their 'cover' and maybe get the attention of the major domo if he manages to win.

Luck is a factor I cannot control, of course, but I'm willing to roll the proverbial dice. Hopefully this will let us all into the gaming rooms so we can find our wayward major domo while keeping a sharp eye out for the inquisitor."

I'm thinking INT is the prime attribute for these card games, and even if not Sebbik is thinking it should be. Though Sebbik doesn't have huge modifiers in Deception, Perception and Gather Information he's trained in them all, so they don't stink. I'm gathering the plan is to benkroll one of us into a game, which will allow that gambler and his 'entourage' to roam around the gaming rooms?

Sebbik considers Ardan's words. "I have some skill at mechanical engineering, as does Kol, I've seen. Though perhaps the work could be done more quickly at the starport on Alderaan, if we have the time to do so. In any case, such upgrades are likely beyond my own skill level."

If we've got some downtime, I certainly wouldn't mind upgrading the ship a bit to make it more able to hold off an enemy starfighter. What are the restrictions for making purchases? I know we have some inroads for Restricted items and such, but can't recall the details.

When the duros finds out the rescued prisoner is conscious, he seeks her out and adds his own question. "When you were aware of your surroundings, did you hear anything about something called the Sarlacc Project? I suppose it is possible they were referring to you, though I see no connection to the name." He would ask if this Jedi had ever heard of his mother, but given that she was captured many years ago, he figures she would know nothing of the matter.

Totally agree with that ruling! Not just one '1' on the d20, but two '1's? Talk about bad luck!! Maybe someone can give an Assist on his next Use Computers check? I'm figuring Sebbik will make the primary roll (if we live that long) since his modifier is +12.

Any actions needed to evade the destroyer? Wasn't sure since you posted 'as we begin to enter hyperspace'. Sebbik has a good Pilot modifier and can reroll as a racial ability (keeping the second roll, even if it's worse) if needed. Just not sure whether it's needed or not. Or maybe a Computer check to 'Astrogate' quickly? Just let me know!
