Ah well, back to the drawing board.

Congratulations to all those that got chosen for particpiation or stand-bye.

Patience is one of the virtues you need on the road to perfection.
Patience will help focus your mind and focus your hand to victory.
Irori's teachings, scripture 1

You're not the only one Roondar, been wanting to play a monk for some time now. Not counting my one level dip I did.

It's too soon to say of course, but I can see a few faces with whom I could form a bond.

Here's my half Tien, half Shoanti Monk. Rocan's alias.

I made him a 25 pt buy already, hopefully my background supports that.
Sorry for the long text however, re-using an alias, I tend to only add more text.

I might try to write up a story or such of him in the wilds, but that is restricted to time.

Sure thing, thanks for the explanation.
Guess I didn't have that much inspiration for him yet.

Good luck with the campaign everyone, I'll be sure to check in on you from time to time.

A dang shame, good luck to you all guys.

I'd wager a guess in why I wasn't picked, my story didn't allow to many tie-ins.
Leinathan would you mind to elaborate for my future applications in your games?

Updated Korham's backstory, few things added now.

Kyra:
Kyra and me could have been at odds once in the four years I have been in Sandpoint, either she fought in the Rusty Dragon inn and I was the one to restrain her or she noticed my monk teachings as I protected people from thieves.

If I had restrained Kyra once we could have a bit of a (friendly) rivalry going on between us, who is the better monk? The Defensive Mountain or the Forceful Kicker.

Khalbar:
Besides the obvious shared Shoanti heritage, when Khalbar and Korham met, Khalbar would have been upset that I've decided to settle in Sandpoint for the last few years. Though my tribe was a bit different from the other Shoanti tribes, very rarely bothered because of the many shamans around, Korham could understand the rage Khalbar felt and the regret of not being there to protect his family.

However Korham is more prone to not let emotions cloud his judgment and tries to comfort Khalbar in his rage of grief. If he comes across an opportunity to help him out, he will do so.

A'letta:
As Korham has made it through his early life protecting shamans of his own tribe, A'Letta, as a Shoanti seer, would have been a welcome comeback to his earlier bodyguard duties. She would not have to ask for guidance or protection from him, he would have offered it readily. A'letta could be his protegé in Sandpoint.

Xogar:
As we both fight for the law and righteousness, we may have crossed paths a few times. Though not a truely devout follower of a god, he keeps Erastil close to his heart as a reminder of his ancestral home and its values. He often comes to the gardens around the newly erected cathedral to meditate and offer a small prayer to Erastil. At times he witnessed Xogar coming to the cathedral himself, he wondered how an half-orc became a paladin. As a bodyguard to the weak and needy, he stood in the way of many thieves before back-up showed up, often in the form of a few lawmen, but Xogar appeared many times as well. This cemented a friendship between the two.

Pick:
I think Pick and Korham will not have had much conversation, mainly glances at night as Korham is startled as he hears/sees Pick scurrying about close to him and Pick being intrigued by the loyalty Korham shows to his protegés. Korham knows about Pick and knows he is not that evil, just skittish, therefore he is more relaxed as he sees a glance of something moving around at dusk knowing it is Pick and knowing he can be trusted.

I'll update Korham's background in a few minutes

A'letta that's why I'm taking my monk down the immovable fortress and combat maneuvers road. Grappling and Bull rushing if I don't have a full-round attack but a standard attack.

He should get into his own with a little bit of help from a caster or a rogue to team up with.

Well, perhaps I should give my Oracle of Stone another thought through, monks tend to be somewhat underrated still.

@leinathan
Do you have an example of a character you definitely wanted into your campaign? You make me curious as to what kind of application that would be.

Also if we have some more time I'm giving Korham's background some more thought, perhaps elaborate on some events some more.

It's not a real problem for me Dien. Haven't been able to play a monk yet, so I'm alright anyhow.

@Rhanloi you could type dice=Comeliness for instance between brackets to do so.

Had I not seen already a rogue in the entries I would have made a dwarven Oracle that could do a kind of lockpicking. But my monk should be able to work fine with a rogue now, Stunning Fist, Sneak Attack combo anyone?

Updated Korham's gear, quick question though, I would like to have a chess board or something as another keepsake from his father. Would that be allowed and how much would it cost?

Also total comeliness of Korham is 12

What would you think of a LG Shoanti Monk? (okay half-blooded Shoanti)

Comeliness: 4d6 - 2 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 4) - 2 = 14

@DM Tadpole:

The sorceress would give gifts like orders or manuscripts with explosive runes written on them, convincing her enemies to read them and then leave the room, things like that. Of course if such a thing wouldn't work, she has to resort to other spells.

Of Korham I understood his last name sounded foreign, and yes Korvun, his father, adopted another name when he took up residence in Lastwall. His actual name was Dawuya Asiha, though not difficult to pronounce, he thought it better to adapt to his new life.

@DM Tadpole:

I always forget to put in ethnicity, but Tian-Min would certainly be more flavourful, compared to the rest of his backstory.

His father, Korvun, came to Lastwall after the merchant ship from the Minkai islands he was on, got shipwrecked in a storm on the Inner Sea. When washing ashore he felt terrible guilt of having saved himself instead of his friend and employer Zaiho Miyani. Wandering the lands with his trusted guisarme he searched for a new worthy cause to put his skills to good use, eventually finding solace in Lastwall, guarding the world against orcs, undead and the Whispering Tyrant.

His sense of honour and duty he has tried to imprint on his son Korham as well. Korham is not totally of Tian-Min blood. His mother was a Taldan woman, hence his first name and last name don't match, he does however have a tattoo of a large lizard on his back, with its paws on his shoulders and its head on his neck. This symbolizes his heritage of the Minkai and the tutelage by his father of striking first.

I agree with you on the 'frontline' story, that would suit him better, his new orders may be best left up to you I think, story-plot driven. I'll edit the story on his page later today.

Note on his Heirloom Weapon, I'll keep only the +1 on AOO's than

Seems we need an arcane and/or divine caster with us, at least a healer.

Sorceress:
I have an idea for a sorceress I'd like to try out, though I'd need to know if it is possible or this is the right campaign for it. Would be a sorceress with high Bluff and Diplomacy, trying for enemies to accept certain 'gifts' she offers them, else she would take on a more supporting role
