Oh, hey. I'm at 6hp and have no way out of the flank without provoking. I wonder what I should play next? Torch barely registers the massive wounds at first, so quickly do they cut and slash at him. He looks down though, and thinks, "That's quite a lot of blood. I really don't think I hit him that hard..." just before he staggers slightly and nearly falls over. Forcing himself to stay upright, he focuses his full attention on the wounded spriggan, hoping to at least escape their trap before he dies. Ranger's focus on the wounded one. Also, praying. Scimitar 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19, damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9; cestus 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19, damage 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Difficult terrain makes this a rather unpleasant situation, but oh well. Torch turns toward the spriggan Ralf managed to wound and follows up with blade and fist. Full attack. Scimitar 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25, damage 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10; crit confirm 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18, crit damage 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8; cestus 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11, damage 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Torch drops his scimitar and grabs for his bow, firing a pair of arrows at the necromancer. First shot gets sneak attack, I believe, since he's stunned - I think he's technically not stunned as soon as he finishes his turn, though, so I don't think the second one gets it. With those assumptions in mind... First arrow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9, damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 plus 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5 sneak.

Torch turns to the necromancer. "Not sure who you are," he says in Polyglot, "but I already know I don't like you." Since I appear to already be in flank...

"Fall down, monster," Torch grunts angrily. "Your existence is abomination!" He cuts and jabs, trying to keep the thing's claws away from him. Scimitar: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23, damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Torch continues to lay into the undead troll, leaving the shaman to his friends to deal with. Scimitar: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26, damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10; crit confirm 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11, crit damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Looks like I've got a charge lane on the troll - let's use it. Torch rushes forward, bringing his blade down on the undead monstrosity before it can threaten his allies. Swift action to declare the troll my ranger's focus target, then charging two-handed attack with the scimitar. Attack 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17, damage 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 plus 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11 sneak. I end up in J15.

Torch launches a full attack at the demonic crocodile, knowing that he has real wounds despite what Ralf claims. Scimitar: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22, damage 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
male half-elf ranger (guide) 2 / rogue 3
Adjusting his position to take advantage of the ape's focus on Aerys, Torch slashes again with his sword and also pummels it with his cestus. Should be able to five-foot into flank now, yes? With that assumption in mind... Scimitar attack 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19, damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 plus 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11 sneak attack.

If Aerys fails and runs, Torch will move up to take her place - otherwise he will circle to try to get into a flank. "Face me, slave of Angazhan!" Torch cries, hurling himself forward. Leaning a bit on my Mwangi Scholar and Scholar of the Great Beyond traits there, but I think it's the assumption Torch would make. No idea if he's right. Swift action to declare the ape my hunter's focus, then move and two-handed attack with the scimitar. Scimitar attack 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13, damage 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9. If I can flank with Aerys, add +2 to the attack and 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8 to the damage.
male half-elf ranger (guide) 2 / rogue 3
My damage was a total of two points too high last time (1 point regular, 1 point crit) because I was using the two-handed version of my scimitar damage. My mistake. Torch continues to pummel the hippo, hoping that Ralf can help Aerys the way he helped him. Scimitar attack with flank and ranger's focus: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26, damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 plus 2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6 sneak.
male half-elf ranger (guide) 2 / rogue 3
Torch staggers under the hippo's assault. He feels ribs fracture within, and spits out blood. He throws a mute glance at Ralf, hoping for aid, but then he returns all his focus to the fight. Full attack, since Aerys moved into flank for me. Swift action to declare the hippo the target of my ranger's focus. Scimitar attack with all the bonuses: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28, damage 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 plus 2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8 sneak; crit confirm 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27, crit damage 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10.
male half-elf ranger (guide) 2 / rogue 3
Torch matches her swing for swing. Scimitar and cestus full attack, with flank.
male half-elf ranger (guide) 2 / rogue 3
Sounds like time to turn the tables on that then. Torch turns toward the last two, circling to put the wounded man with the axe between himself and Aerys. He slashes again with his sword, hoping his luck holds. Scimitar attack with flank: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13, damage 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 plus 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 sneak.
male half-elf ranger (guide) 2 / rogue 3
Turning his attention to the other archer, already burning from Gelik's spell, Torch slashes again with his blade. Move to the other one. I'm assuming there's enough distance between them I can't 5 ft step. Scimitar attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24, damage 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7.
male half-elf ranger (guide) 2 / rogue 3
Neither Ralf nor Aerys have any special night vision, so how about having them double-up on their watch? And if possible, Gelik and Ralf should get an uninterrupted 8 hours, so how about this: Gelik first, Torch in the middle and Aerys and Ralf the last one? Perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
male half-elf ranger (guide) 2 / rogue 3
"Sunken treasure?" says Torch musingly, waving his hat at some buzzing flies. "We're on time, or maybe even a little ahead of schedule... I know we've got some trouble on our trail, but we've handled it so far, and I'd hate to pass up the chance to learn what secrets the lake might be keeping. We might well never get another opportunity for this kind of exploration! What do you say we give it a shot?"
