DM Anselth

Spoiler:
I like the look of your current map, the shadows and lighting in the main area have a cool effect, and gives the sense of an eerie vibe. Or maybe it's just an effect on my ipad lol.

"Be careful little ones."

Sallandrya will trail the smaller demi humans, and keep her sight line just above Podo and Gnobby and watch for any signals or reactions the two throw back to the party.

I think I am missing a post, I rolled a search roll and it was not as good as the roll I remade but I can't find my post, I think I rolled a 12 then lost the post while I was editing, the re roll is better but I can take the original roll to be fair.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

edit - I seem to be missing a post that I rolled a search for.

Gnobby the Gnome wrote:

Gnobby looks back at Sallandrya.

"You are a real elf. You can shoot that bow and everything".

"To thine own race be true Gnobby," Sallandrya tells Gnobby with a slight smile. "How do you fare?"

The Elven huntress is searching the tower room for something to clean off her blade with, as well as looking for anything of interest or use for the party.

search

1d20 ⇒ 6

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

Sallandrya walks over to the carcass of the bloated Ungol Araneae while deliberately drawing out her Elven long blade, she pauses above the head of the vermin and plunges her blade deep into the brain cavity of the foul beast, then even further a second time for good measure.

With the light from Sir Galavain's torch her eyes search the room for something she can use to clean the rancid ichor off with.

"Good Gnobby, do you require assistance?"

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

Sallandrya makes it barely into the doorway of the tower ... and her movement and intake of breath are abruptly halted. The Elven hunter-priest sees a Great Ungol Araneae, a twisted and foul vermin that is said to be the (un)holy totem creature of the dark goddess that betrayed the Elven gods, made war of the Elven people and then took a full fifth of the Elven race deep into the dark bowels of the earth.

But the moment of fear and trepidation passes, replaced with steel and resolve. For those who would chance a glance at Sallandrya at this brief moment would see the fearsome visage of Elven princes and high lords of times long forgotten, in an past age when the Elven race first mastered magic and when they flew atop the backs of Dragons.

But a single Elven word is uttered on the archer's lips, ::"GURTH!":: (DEATH)

1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 + 2 = 20

1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8

Sallandrya flatens her body against the wall to allow her allies inside to withdraw or her allies outside to enter the tower to join combat but continues her attack on the abomination in front of her.

1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 2 = 19

1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

DM Aneslth: If there enough of a commotion/noise to justify me coming in to support our friends in the tower I would like to do so ...

Although keeping vigil with Tarmin, Sallandrya chances a glance to where her friends had just disappeared into and asks of Tarmin and Pettry, "maybe we should see what the little ones have found, or what may have found the little ones ---" and with bow at the ready, starts to move a towards the tower.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

In a whisper, "the tower or the stairs my friends?"

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

Sallandrya will leave the searching of pockets to those with the skill and knack for it and steps to the rear of the group to join Tarmin's side, all the while keeping her bow half drawn.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

Sallandrya takes careful aim at the voulge wielding brigrand only to see him fall to Andre Girard's deft blade.

Angling her shot towards the opposing crossbowman and gauging his skill nowhere near her own, prepares to loose an arrow into his chest, but Sir Galavaine steps into the line of fire. As Sallandrya moves to adjust her shot, she stills her hand as the enemy falls to the ground, not the first (nor the last) foe to have a halfling's simple sling stone lodged into his body.

A half smile, unseen but genuine nonetheless, briefly comes to Sallandrya's lips as she comes to realize the measure of her allies prowess.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

When a DM repeats himself, it's best for the players to at least pretend to listen ... :)

Keeping a tight grip on her drawn bow with her hands, Sallandrya still manages to uses her lithe fingers to motion to her allies.

Taking the lead and mindful of what the shadows cast by the surroundings may be hiding she whispers, "Where to then? Podo keep close, your my good luck charm," throwing the Halfling a wink.

Still at a whisper, "Pettry, keep an eye on our backs, and mind those stairs, I don't want us all flanked from that side."

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

roll

1d20 ⇒ 7

Keeping a wary eye while moving like a great hunting cat, bow half drawn, crouching low to the ground and maintaining a very small silhouette, Sallandrya will take the lead.

"Will you be my shadow and watch my back, brave Podo?"

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

----

After surveying the groups handywork against the Anuras,

"If we are worried about the obvious entrance being trapped or guarded then we should make quickly for the ruined wall, there may be trip wires or guards there too but let us make haste before any within the moat house have more time to steel themselves against us."

Sallandrya will notch another arrow and offer to take point and be in the lead as they enter the moat house.

GM Anselth, did Sallandrya (Podo, Gnobby or Pettry) see any signs of activity from within the moat house during the brief combat?

Roll for any skill check that may be needed to observe/scout the area or climb the debris

Taking arrows off in my inventory.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

DM Anselth:

Spoiler:
Thank you for the extra shot! Although I hope our party dosn't get surprised by 4 segments in the future. For some reason I actually understood exactly where you had us all on or off the map, so no jokes about girls and asking for directions!

For Tarmin

Spoiler:

Tarmin: I don't mean to keep being the big sister with you, I promise! :P I really am not a nit pick rules lawyer at our table games lol, believe me, there is a guy who already does that, but you get +2 to damage for each of your arrows that hit. I am just looking out for my sister in arms! Your a better shot too!

---

Are we focussing on the frog closest to Podo because he exposed himself sooner than Gnobby?

Switching to another target a half a second after the larger frog falls proves to be a bit much for the Elven huntress, angry at herself for misjudging her second shot, one an Elven child would have been able to make had she not had the heat of battle excite her, Sallandrya tries to gauge the range and let's lose another shot, trying to make best of thier surprise.

To Hit 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 2 = 13

Damage 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8

Sallandrya is too intent at trying to keep an eye on the inside of the moat house and this may prove her undoing if that's another miss.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

edit: had a post but lost it, if it turns up that was the original

I am not sure if we are still shooting during the surprise round or waiting for the regular round but here is my next shot, Sallandrya will fire to support Tarmin again.

"Tarmin, Podo has given his position away, the Anuras may not be intelligent but they still may head towards him, shall we aim for the the one closest to our friend?"

To hit 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7

damage 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10

edit again: phooey! that's a miss I bet.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

DM Anselth

Spoiler:
Do we get only a single shot in the surprise round? I don't fully understand segments. And there are no rules for rolling 20's right? Save it being a hit.

---

Tarmin

Spoiler:
I actually looked at your rolls to see if I was doing it right, I think you should have +3 to hit (DEX + Elf + Specialization) and a +3 to damage (STR + Specialization), we trained together after all.
:)

---

Despite engaging the 'foe', Sallandrya is keeping an eye for any movement or signs of activity from within the moat house as best she can.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

I will give Tamrin the honor of the first shot as well as selection of the target, Sallandrya's shot will go half a second after her friend, and will steak towards the same target.

:::Great Hunter guide my aim ...:::

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5

Edit: NATURAL 20!

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

For the group:

Spoiler:
Out of character - I misunderstood the plan, I thought we were going through the fallen wall to take advantage of surprise/cover and fire at the frogs from the inside. This 'strategy' of going head on is a tad too familiar, my real life group does it all the time :) But if that's how you boys want to do it ...

----

Before Sallandrya follows Tarmin,"Our gallant warriors should lay in ambush, we will flush our quarry out into the open, we will fire upon the Anura and then Tarmin and I will move back and lead them towards you as they come forth, if they remain at a distance, then they will fall where they stand."

To our Wizard, she quietly says, "Pettry, while I am not a master of the Arcane such as you, there is a measure of understanding of The Art among all my people. And while I have no doubts you will rival the Archmages of old one day, today I think it best you watch our backs, keep an eye on the INSIDE of the moat house while we deal with the beasts. Save your arcane bolt, we may have need of it to distrupt any malign spellcasters our foes in turn may have. Should any of us fall I think you would be the best at keeping us safe from further harm, it is up to you to protect our 'heroes'" and gives Pettry's hand a tight squeeze.

Sallandrya will advance and take up a spot about 10 ft to the left of Tarmin, aiming to be about 50 ft from the closest frog. She is keeping an eye for any movement or signs of activity from within the moat house.

In Elven::: Sister, between us we should be able to bring at least one of the four Anura down before they even advance, should we aim for one of the smaller beasts or the largest one? Our blades and other hand weapons would be more effective on the large one once in comes towards us. We should focus our attacks as best we can, and pull back and have the Anura chase us into the waiting mercies of our companions.:::

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

1d20 - 4 ⇒ (9) - 4 = 5

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

I don't think Pettry should disappear, I rather like him and its good to have a full Wizard in the party and it gives you as the DM a voice as well.

Suggestion:

In our table top games if there is an DM/NPC who is a member of the party he/she gets some of the treasure but the XP is divided only among the full PCs and the DM NPC levels up only when the last/slowest (XP wise) PC levels up (which will work here because Pettry is a Wizard). Maybe he can level up with our Paladin?

Also two quick questions before combat:

In OSIRIC -

Do spell casters (Wizard, Clerics and Illusionist) lose thier spells if brought to negative hit points?

Also if a PC goes into the negatives (crossing my fingers this won't happen) can they no longer come back into combat even after being healed? What is the time necessary time for the PC to be active again? I know 1st Ed was very hard on downed PCs.

In our 2 Ed home game we have this home rule:

Spoiler:

For every negative hit point there is 10% chance of losing ALL the memorized spells, less the PCs prime attribute in percentile.

For example:

Wizard with 18 INT is brought to -4 HP. That would be 40% chance to lose all remaining spells for the day less 18% for hight INT which is 22% chance to lose all his spells. If in the next round he is not stabilized and the Wizard is at -5, he will then have a 32% chance of losing all his spells. On the 3rd round and still bleeding the Wizard, now at -6 has a 60% chance less 18% of losing his spells for a 42% chance of losing memorized spells. And so on.

In regards to reviving fallen PCs, for every negative hit point, the PC needs a full minute of rest to recover before coming back to his/her senses. So at -4 HP, a revived PC needs 4 full minutes of non combat or active movement/exertion.

I think the above is less of a drain on the PCs, still keeping to the older edition feel, and were just possible suggestions.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

"I can not vouch for the stability of the stonework on the West side of the keep, nor if the defenders have laid any traps or trip wires to alert them of any intrusion, but by the main gate has the largest Anura I have ever seen, easily the size of a hound, whether it was set there as a guard, or it decided to make its home there and the occupants of the keep do not know how to rid themselves of the beast, I can not say.'"

Podo translates for the non Elven speakers, "She means FROG, but you should see the size of this THING! I bet Gnobby could ride it!"

"Yes ... F r o g, I have heard tales of foul creatures who make temples to these large Anuras in the Dark Places beneath the world," Sallandrya visibly pales at the memory of unpleasant childhood tales.

I of course did NOT mean to exclude our fellow demi human stealth users!! I was just typing along and forgot to add the names of the smaller members of our fellowship. They are truly masters of stealth because they made me forget they were here! : ) So we are not waiting for the cover of darkness then?

-----

After a few paces away from the group, Sallandrya asks, "So brave Podo, do you know any good Dwarf jokes?"

Elf and halfling start heading left (West?) of the party towards the moat house, either presently or later if we wait for dusk time.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

@Anselth/the party

Spoiler:
Is there a tree line that we can use that we will prevent our discovery as we scout around the moathouse? Are there high vantage points/battlements and windows that can spy us from above the tree line? Basically I like the quick scouting idea but do not want to give ourselves away by doing so. That would give the defenders ample time to ready for an attack.

-----

Sallandrya asks her newfound allies, "Should we wait for the cover of darkness? Best not alert the 'tenants' of our visit. And we can remain here to see if we can detect actiivity inside, perhap's lay an ambush for any patrols or raiding parties that come forth into the open, that would decidedly weaken the enemy force as a whole.

Sallandrya will scout ahead with Tarmin whenever the group decides is best to push forward.

Whether doing the scouting presently or later in the evening, before she departs Sallandrya will utter a prayer to the Great Hunter for herself and her allies in Elven then quietly switch to Common and say: "May we strike swift and our aim hold true."

Sallandrya will draw a single arrow, steel her bow arm and head in the most favorable direction for scouting the base of the moat house, never within range of crossbows or longbows, nowhere near any obvious points of entry (for surely those will be guarded) and keeping her body and silhouette low as only slightly built Elven Ranger can.

Edit: just saw the picture, thank you.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

Spoiler:
I could have sworn the original party already had horses coming into Hommlett when I read your thread.

Sallandrya does not have any rights in regards to the fate of the horse, but if it is given/sold to Ostler she will ask that the good Inn keeper not re sell or use horse for a few days, just in case Jozan/Zert's allies may be keeping tabs, best wait until we have seen to who Jozan was reporting to.

In order to keep up appearances, Sallandrya will not join the party at the Druid's Grove but will inconspicuously trail the party to the right and faaar behind of the group, keeping note if anyone else is doing likewise or paying close watch of the party.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

@ Sir Galavaine
Despite herself and the akward foreignness of having a bearded human kiss her hand, Sallandrya is actually a little charmed by Sir Galavaine's gesture - perhaps all those tall tales about Half Elves running around may have a small grain of truth after all.

@ Anseth then @ Tarmin then @ Group

Sallandrya will offer to share her room with Tarmin for three reasons:

1. Safety in numbers, and they can start a pattern of keeping watch, while one is in Reverie the other can keep guard, might as well adjust to each other sooner (and in the comfort of an Inn) than later. And not many things are going to get a chance to surprise TWO Elven Rangers!

2. Sallandrya has a plan; the small town (hamlet) of Hommlett, for the most part, knows of the Viscount's team of new arrivals, as they did not keep their purpose hidden - most, if not all of Hommlett does not connect me with the group. Tarmin and I will determine a spot some two miles outside of town where I will meet the group later, I intend to let the group leave, hang back and WATCH to see who takes a keen interest on the groups departure, or if the group is even followed from town, I will then leave through a different route and meet up with the group. I will not even leave the Inn with them.

Since the group will be traveling at the pace of Podo and Gnobby (little guys with big hearts but small feet), I should be able to catch up even after counting for the delay of keeping watch. Does that seem sound?

3. Its GOOD to see a trusted and fellow Elf so far from Home, despite her confident outward appearance, her being away from Celene unnerves Sallandrya.

Anselth wrote:

Spoiler:
I like your descriptive text Anselth, I can really picture that scene in my mind's eye.

'Is there anything we should look into futher? Or perhaps we should consider the benefits of eary rest, and reconvening our inquiries ere break of day.'

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

I would like to make quick inquires with the Inn keeper if Jozan was seen here having dealings with others, how long he has been in residence here, and if there is anyone else staying here by the name of Zert, also if he does have contacts, we have the advantage (for the time being) that they are unaware of Jozan's fate, I'm sure we can find ways of using that to our group's advantage. Perhaps the party's 'diplomat' should make said inquires. And how about posting some of us in Jozan's room just in case he's associates make their way here tonight?

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

I just noticed your XP Gnobby, I think your thief level gets a little extra for High DEX.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

We should make quick inquires with the Inn keeper if Jozan was seen here having dealings with others, perhaps how long he has been in residence here, and if there is anyone else staying here by the name of Zert, also Anselth, did the party notice anyone at the inn take special interest on what was going on when the commotion occured?

Spoiler:
I am asking as a player and not Sallandrya, I don't think she would have had a chance to look, but were there any special markings on Jozan's weapons?

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

In Elven:

::: It is good to see you here then 'sister' Tarmin, may it be the Hunter's providence that has brought our paths together far from Home. And if these are your comrade in arms ... :::

shifting to the Common tongue:

I am made happy and filled with relief that I pass your scrutiny Andre Girard, for the wrath and blade of one such us you should not be taken lightly. Sallandrya says with a wink and a wry smile. Then she continues to the group:

I know not what has transpired here, but you have with you one I have come to trust and admire.

I will assume that some brief yet intriguing explanations are made between the party and Sallandrya, just to speed up this part.

I am Sallandrya Iramnine of the House Thalanderond, the Lady Tarmin can vouch for me for the moment, just as she has just done for you with me, my word and deed and bow will show my worth should our paths continue on. And since your comrade has gone to fetch the inn keeper, have you ascertained where his allegiances lay?

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

The look of surprise on Tarim's face is matched by the one on Sallandrya's. Yet she had just seen an armed man disappear into the air, perhaps some other enchantment was afoot, and now targeting her. Sallandrya, showing a smile on her lips but still on her guard spoke in quick, rushed Elven:

::: 'Sister' Tarmin, by all the stars in the night sky, how have you come to be in such a place, you are a long way from our Homelands, and yet here you are ... Just as on the night I last saw you!:::

Sallandrya has set a verbal trap to ascertain if this is indeed the true Tarmin.

Surely any man may wear any symbol and trappings he wishes to ... Only the naive and foolish would take things a face value. - Sallandrya's thoughts are not evident on her face, but her concerns for the fallen man are out weighed by her now growing concern for herself, the fact she has been invited to enter a sealed room where there at least three 'men' who at first glance seem like talented cut throats ...

"When does the 'hush-hush' part of this 'business' begin? I am sure there are those in Verbobonc who heard your 'business' just now." - Sallandrya's dry humor wins few new friends.

With one hand out stretched to show she has no ill intent, and with the other baring her still sheathed sword Sallandrya steps halfway through her door way ...

"I am ... a priest," the word seems uncomfortable for her to say "I know not what has transpired here but I may be able to aid the fallen man."

Sallandrya does not know that Jozan has taken a mortal blow, but keeps a wary eye on those who still bare arms.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

After that scene by the stairs I should just close my door and let the other Non Elf patrons go about their curious business ...

: D

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

Is there anything Sallandrya can use to determine who is striking whom, and to what purpose? Or if these men are authority figures in the town or mere hire swords? Sallandrya is a long way from home and she is fully aware she has no 'jurisdiction' here. She readies herself but does not reveal herself either.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

Sallandrya in Elven Reverie state.

Spoiler:
In her minds eye, Sallandrya saw herself as she had been when she was some two score winters younger, walking through a moon lit copse of tall and looming fir wood trees. Behind her stood her stern Lord-father and loving mother, and with them stood her older brother Solonius, who by writ and word of the Fey Queen would one day be patriach of House Thalanderond. A small noble house to be sure, but ancient and full of history as any in the Elven realm of Celene.

As for Sallandrya herself, on this, the first day of her hundered and first year of life, her naming day, she would be brought into the ranks of the Order of the Fleeting Hart, a branch of the clergy dedicated to the Great Huntsman, Solonor Thelandira. And while many would consider this a great honor, Sallandrya found herself with feeling for antipathy for her Lord father who had decreed that she would join the ranks of Solonor's priests.

"She is still a childe" her mother had said these past months, words unspoken by Sallandrya herself, but that echoed in her heart. She had no desire to be part of any organization where duty and doctrine would need observance, much less an ancient priesthood. Her Lord father and his advisor had retorted with "but she has the Gift" ...

"The Gift" - as what was called of her near mastery of a bow, for even before Elves twice her age had learned how to notch an arrow on training bows, Sallandrya had feld her first deer from nearly 1000 paces off with but a single shot. And her skill continued to grow. A skill Sallandrya had at first shown off in her youth but over time had resented for it led her down this path. How she resented her talent with the bow, almost as much as she resented her Lord father ...

The sounds from outside her door roused Sallandrya from her near trance state, with her keen Elven hearing and vision she readily attuned herself to her sourroundings, and with a fluid motion stood up, taking her sheathed sword from the bedstand table and made for the door. The sounds were on this floor, that she could determine. The Ranger unlatched the lock of her door and gently opened it to see ...

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

I cleared my earlier relationship with Spaz/Tarmin via PM, his character being part of the Border Wardens probably had joint training/field operations with the Order of the Hart.

I guess we can add that I learned some bow skills from his PC and she in turn learned some tracking pointers from me (being a devotee of the god of the Hunt).

Added last touches on equipment, feathers for arrow fletching and writing quills in a pinch, cloth bandages for wounds and possibly to wrap around arrows to set alight. I added soap but realized already had it on there.

Took ogre as an additional language, left two language slots open for now.

@Anselth

Did not know how much silver arrows were, since it's 1 gp for 12 normal arrows, may I assume 1 gp for 3 silver headed arrows?

Re the Archers's bracers, thanks for allowing my holy symbol on them, the symbol of Solonor Thelandira is readily seen on them, which I will need for casting spells and turning.

I'll post on the game thread tonight.

I can post on the game thread at least two to three times daily, but Fridays and Saturdays are heavy work nights so please feel free to post as me as needed to move the story along.

Again, thanks and see you all on the game thread!

Here's hoping we roll more 20's than 1's.

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

Thanks for the wait and for everyone's help!

@Anselth, I sent you a final Private Message.

Sallandrya is almost ready to go, I know you guys play pbps but this is new for me I'm a little excited, I'll begin posting in the game thread after work tonight. What time of day is it in game?

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

Thanks for all the help (and patience!) Anselth!!

And I understand the reasoning behind your ruling, it's just fair to everyone that way, so all's cool.

I had my heart set on playing a bow wielding Elf (cliche but if it worked for Tolkein and Jackson ...) so I am leaning towards a Magic-User/Ranger, But if the party needs a Cleric I'll play a Magic-User/Cleric, what do you guys think? I'll be happy to fill the role in party that is most needed.

(I was willing to drop armor and Turn Undead in favor of the bow as a Cleric, do Magic-User/Cleric's cast spells in armor under OSIRIC like they did in 1st Ed, I would be willing to forgo armor I just wanted to know what this ruleset changed.)

I'll roll up my character when I get home from work, this is hopefully my last question, in 1st Ed Grey Elves got +1 to Int, +1 to Dex, -1 to Con, that is not true for OSIRIC?

Also FYI, Solonor is an Elven god in Greyhawk so he's in keeping with the campaign.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Female Grey Elf Cleric 1/Ranger 1

Thank you DM Anselth!  I appreciate getting a chance to play, this is my first pbp.

I did some digging and I think I found the link to the original character creation page.  I guess there was a DM switch that's why I could not find the character creation rules on your listed posts page. I was going crazy trying to find it that way.  Horrible search skills!

I still need help trying to figure out how to use the dice roller, is there a page where I can go to? I am sorry I am new to this. If you want to hand roll my scores that's fine (just don't roll too low : ) I am sorry I am adding a level of difficulty). I will be happy to use the dice roller once I figure out how to roll 4D6 on it - I promise I am a quick study! Thanks for your patience.

Also did you see the link for Solonor that was in my original post?

Since Rangers can in your game can not specialize (they could in Unearthed Arcana) I would like to play a Grey Elf Magic-User/Cleric of Solonor Thelandira. She is a scout/tracker from the Elven Kingdom of Celene, a junior member of the Order of the Hart who was sent by the Elven Queen's advisors to gather information on the rumors of the resurgence of banditry and turmoil in the area around Homlet.

I wanted to see if you would please allow the Priest Class I have tanken from 2nd edition.  I gave up the ability to Turn Undead, have very limited armor and limited spell selection in favor of a more 'Elven god of the Hunt' feel, but with bow bonuses.  Please tweak or drop anything you feel is over powered! Basically it boils down to this - it's a lesser Cleric who can use a bow! LOL

Since my Magic-User half will only have a single spell per day in was thinking I would be able to support the party with some missile fire.

And I am fine with your ruling on no weapon specialization.

Spoiler:

Elven Bows
If used as an emergency melee weapon, the elven bow acts as a staff, causing 1d6 points of damage to S- or M-sized creatures, 1d3 to L-sized or larger creatures. Elven bows weigh 5 pounds and typically cost 150 gp.

Elven Long Knives
Basically short swords but can be used for both Piercing and Slashing. Can not be thrown. Normally used as a paired set of two.

Priests Can Not Turn or Command Undead

• Rangers dedicated to Solonor must be elves or half-elves.

While most rangers in Solonor's service are Wood elves or Moon elves, elves and half-elves of every subrace are called to be specialty priests of Solonor's clergy.

• Rangers in Solonor's service, whether they are elves or halfelves, are allowed to multiclass as cleric/rangers.

Thanks for taking the max negative hit point house rule into consideration, I hope we don't need to use it often!

One last question regarding that, to 'stabilize' another PC, back in 1st Ed it was automatic, no rolls were needed but it did require 'an active action for an active PC to bind the wounds of the fallen PC', is that how you will rule it?

@French Wolf: thanks for the well wishes!

@Chainmail: in 1st Edition Unearthed Arcana Rangers were allowed to specialize in any bow, any one handed sword, spears and hand axes.  Paladins did not get this benefit. But If Anselth does not want to have Ranger's to have access to this for game balance I am quite happy to just play a Magic-User/Cleric.
