Saélihn nods as Aubrin tells of the redoubt. "Yes, it would take a while to get to it, so we'll need a more solid camp sooner. While I was hunting, I came across what looks like what's left of an abandoned farmhouse, mostly a tumbledown chimney and an overgrown stand of apple trees, but it might be worth exploring. At the least, we can add to our food supply."

We're not likely to find a great base spot all that quickly, though it should remain among the top priorities. I think finding the Chesenardos would add aid, help with food, tents, and shelter all at once, so overall primary goal.

Saélihn stands watch, bow at the ready to cover their retreat as Lizzie, Skalla, and Gronilda blow the bridge. Putting her skills to use, the scouts the best possible place for the refugees to set up camp, given their limited resources.

Nodding along as Gronilda gives an inspiring speech, attempting to lift everyone's spirits, the takes in Aubrin's revelation of her impaired vision, resolving to take the lead in ensuring the refugees survive and find safety and shelter. One everyone is settled and watches set, she and Ghost set out, hunting in the outlying forest, to supplement their food supplies.

"Get along in the wild. Move up to half your overland speed while hunting and foraging (no food or water supplies needed). You can provide food and water for one other person for every 2 points by which your check result exceeds 10". So the results of Saélihn's hunting should be able to provide for 9 people, lessening Provision consumption.

Rushing over to check on Gronilda, Saélihn checks on the fallen cleric's wounds, breathing a sigh of relief as more of Aubrin's healing banishes them.

"We've got the stump remover concoction from my Mom and Oreld, that should be able to destroy it!" she replies to Kining, taking a moment to strip the hobgoblin captain of anything useful after Gronilda is back on her feet.

With Skalla getting up and joining the fray, Saélihn finds no opening for a decent shot, as her arrow goes wide to avoid hitting her companions.

Her sharp eyes quickly assessing the devolving situation, Saélihn lets out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. With Gronilda down, and still unmoving, Skalla on the ground as well (she seemed to be moving slightly but she'd dropped her weapon), and that bi+<# of a hobgoblin setting her sights on Aubrin, the huntress locks onto her prey, calling a command to Ghost to kill her, as she sends an arrow streaking across the bridge.

I mean, a crit's a crit, and these hobgoblins are hard to kill and hit pretty hard. It's why I've been keeping Ghost out of melee since he got hurt. Next round he'll join melee again.

Anyone with Spellcraft should probably try to identify the last couple potions and any unidentified wands we have. They might come in handy depending on what they are.

As the group advances toward the bridge, Saélihn tries to keep her focus on the task at hand, readying herself for what would likely be a hard fight to defend those that they were determined to get out of town safely.

Going through the gathered gear and supplies, she swaps her bow out for one of exceptional make, the heavy draw would allow her to impart her better than average strength to the flight of her arrows.

As they arrive she scans the area, taking a deep breath, before forcing her eyes to skip over the bodies, focusing on instead, spotting enemies.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Taking the composite longbow (+2 str) if no one has any objections.

Saélihn glances over at Lizzie with a look of utter compassion. almost feeling guilty as her own mother stands beside her. She didn't know what she would do in the same situation, but at least she still had family around her...Saélihn's mother was all she had other than Ghost.

Pulling her attention back to her mentor she nods, gathering up anything needed and handing additional supplies to others to carry. "C'mon, let's get everyone out of here. No one else falls tonight."

Wordlessly dashing to the door, she puts aside the grisly scene, focusing on her prey as she sends an arrow streaking across the chamber at the hobgoblin standing near the statue, for now leaving the speaker to the deadly dwarves.

Moving into the smithy, Saélihn's keen eye for detail notices a loose floorboard behind the counter. Taking a moment to pry it up, she finds a buckler, embossed with an arch of stone, with a fire burning beneath it.

Adding it to the collected gear, she smiles at the sight of Lizzie's reunion, her thoughts again worriedly turning to her mother, hoping she'd choose to head somewhere like the shrine to find safety.

Same here. Saélihn's mom is an herbalist, and still unaccounted for. Part of our current goal is a sweep through town to gather our families and anyone we can save before getting out of town and blowing the bridge,

Awakening with a start as the healing energy washes over him, Ghost pads over to Saélihn, licking his wounds.

The huntress drops to her knees, throwing her arms around her companion before looking over at Gronilda, whispering a heartfelt 'Thank You'.

Standing up, she focuses on the burning thatch roof, concentrating on her connection to the natural world and the elements within it, drawing water out of the air, to send a couple of gallons of water falling onto the burning roof. Concentrating intently she repeats the process, hoping to put it out.
