It's reasonable to be disappointed in the delay, maybe even frustrated by how it was communicated, but attacking the company and it's employees over a 7-day delay and the inconveniences it's placed on you tells a little more on you than it does on them.

Taken as an individual incident I would absolutely agree. If we are unable to wait seven days for a luxury item, we have much bigger problems. However, Paizo often takes actions or fails to do so that at minimum disappoint and at times aggravate and irritate their customers. It is at these times that we take the opportunity to express our feelings which is exactly what social media like this forum is for. Not everyone believes that Paizo is some kind of sanctified entity impervious to criticism, but there are some that clearly do.

This is just another example of the poor communication and management that Paizo demonstrates on a regular basis. We enjoy Pathfinder in spite of Paizo as often as because of them.

One thing I notice with some regularity in the message boards, users who insist that even when discussing a topic as varied as this one, only their opinion is right and others are wrong. It demonstrates a lack of understanding of what an opinion really is and that while we can disagree with someone's conclusions, it doesn't make their opinion more "right" and yours more "wrong." Don't invest too much time on those folks. Its not worth it and you'll just end up frustrated. Unfortunately, they exist in large enough numbers that it can be a challenge to avoid them entirely and they are generally good at sucking you into their arguments. Good luck!

Is it repeatable for society credit?

I hope not, but I'm sure there is a good number of Pathfinders who hope it is.

Double-points is next weekend March 12-14, so people can have a chance to sign up and play for them.

By "this" I meant the same weekend as out convention. I know Paizo cannot plan around all the events in the community and I understand Aaron's comment, but it still would have been nice for some more than a week's notice. As we all know, adding slots to an existing con that late in the process can be incredibly challenging.

Explanation of Disappointment, albeit minor:
I am only thinking about the GMs/players in attendance that will miss out on a "bonus" session of elevated AcP. Since they are at the convention, they will be getting the increased AcP already that weekend for their play. So, even if we added Sundered Waves to the schedule, they would not gain anything they aren't already getting. However, when they do get around to playing it, they won't earn the elevated AcP. So, while everyone else has a chance that weekend to earn bonus AcP unassociated with any other event, those in attendance won't. Its a minor complaint to be sure, but had we known about the plan in advance, we likely would not have scheduled our event for the same weekend. In the grand scheme of things, it is not really a good idea to schedule an event to compete with an official Paizo one. You will almost always lose participation to the official event.

But, I have expressed my feelings and can now move forward. It is what it is and it is done. So, thanks for listening (or ignoring) and...

Its great that org play is sponsoring a double-points weekend, but a little more notice would have been nice. We have a convention this weekend and those players will not have the opportunity to get the increased rewards since they will have to play this at a future date. A bit of advanced notice we could have included this offering in our schedule.

For example, Lord of the Rings.... 45 minutes into the first film, Frodo stops on the road and says to the leader of the Ringwraiths, "Hey, stop following me." Rolls Intimidate, and succeeds. Casually walks to Mordor, intimidates the gate men into opening the gate, walks to Mt. Doom, tosses in the ring. 1 hour of movie time, no character development.

Or Gandalf just has one of those cool huge eagles fly Frodo to Mount Door and he drops the ring in. DONE!

Screw you Sauron :-)
