Nok-Nok is mightiest of knife wielding heroes and on this day has defeated the worst that the Runelord of Wrath could throw at us! Nok-Nok claims title of Vicious Blade, and Slashing Blade having bested them one on one in combat...couldn't find the last one, but party mates took that one down too. Just finished up our run on Season of the Runelords today which we started as part of the first PbP online PACS convention, Cards Against Gnomanity. Took us a long time but we got there. Party was Arik/Red Raven, Mother Myrtle, Grazzle, and Nok-Nok. I had so much fun with Nok-Nok and my build leaned heavily into his second chance and soaking damage. Anyway, with us wrapping up, wanted a place of honor for him.

Turn 21, Blessing of Erastil

Nok-Nok is ready to teach more blade guys who the real blade guy in town is...and his name is most definitely not Vicious, although that is a pretty great name. Nok-Nok fakes a run into the warrens, (forgoing free explore), and then get's Wayfayer advice on how to sneak in best. Explore, adding 2d6 to all checks.

Vicious Blade-BYA: Fortitude 12: 1d10 + 4 + 1d4 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (8) + 4 + (4) + 2 + (6, 6) = 30 Success, Nok-Nok is immune to cold.

Razorglass Knife for combat, +2 for location, adding for knife trait, wayfarer explore, Tears of Death, Grazzle's Staff of Darkflame

Staff of Darkflame reduction: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Vicious Blade-CtD: Combat 22 (28-6): 1d8 + 3 + 2d4 + 2 + 2 + 1d4 + 2d6 + 2d8 ⇒ (7) + 3 + (3, 3) + 2 + 2 + (3) + (1, 3) + (6, 3) = 36 Success!

Reveal Burglar's Buckler to add die to disable check.

Same check as before, but adding Shadow Cat and Blessing of the Demon Queen.

Vicious Blade-CtD: Combat 26 (30-4): 4d8 + 3 + 2d4 + 2 + 2 + 1d4 + 2d6 + 2d8 + 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (8, 8, 5, 8) + 3 + (3, 4) + 2 + 2 + (1) + (3, 4) + (3, 3) + (7) + 6 = 70 Success again.

Reveal Burglar's Buckler to add die to disable check.
Tear's: Disable 12: 2d10 + 2 + 1d4 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (10, 2) + 2 + (4) + 2 + (5, 2) = 27 No effect from poison.
Mental Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Recharge Tears of Death, Boots of Alacrity, discard Galvanic Chakram +1 for last point. Draw Belt of Strength after recharging damage.

Nok-Nok enlists aid of allies, and wades in to cut down Vicious Blade. He shows Vicious who is most vicious here. His name is Nok-Nok! He makes sure Vicious Blade will remember it...well maybe not...since he's dead.

Turn 17, Blessing of the Gods

Nok-Nok, Head Drum is healed for 1 for not moving: (Forensic Physician). Deck shuffled.

Nok-Nok eyes Sharpening Blade and thinks that guy has really cool name...but is he worthy...Nok-Nok also has sharp blades and he'd like to introduce the them to this guys and see who is more worthy.

Monsters here was 4 originally, adding for a check not against, also adding heroic d6.

Sharpening Blade-BYA: Fortitude 12: 1d10 + 4 + 1d4 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 4 + (1) + 4 + (3) = 18 Success.

Nok-Nok dodges Blade's initial strike, frees up his first knife and let's fly. It strikes true! But doesn't drop him. Nok-Nok is a bit impressed at his resilience. Fortunately, Nok-Nok has lots of knives so he preps another and also lets fly. Sharpening Blade acknowledges Nok-Nok's superiority and flees the field like any smart goblin would do when faced by superior foe. Nok-Nok has to admire the tactic.

Nok-Nok's Deckhandler | Party

Turn 6, Blessing of Desna

Nok-Nok heads deeper into the dungeon and comes across a spell that even Nok-Nok can tell radiates with power. Demon Queen will help Nok-Nok gain arcane power...surely.

Blizzard-CtA: Intelligence 12: 4d4 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 4) = 13 Success!

Ultimate Cosmic Power!! But the Demon Queen gives nothing for free.

Demon Queen Tribute: 1d4 ⇒ 2 2 mental damage, Nok-Nok recharges both - Blizzard and Blessing of Irori, draw Razorglass knife for using recharge power.

Fortunately, Nok-Nok is used to Demon Queens loving hand and just embraces the mind numbing pain to enhance himself.

Reveal Forensic Physician heal random from discard (Blessing of the Demon Queen!), then discard him to explore. - BotG

After patching up a bit Nok-Nok continues exploring and finds shrine, it's generic, so Nok-Nok naturally assumes it's for him. He takes the offerings that are there. Unfortunately Muck Graul is not happy about Nok-Nok taking his offerings, and he charges while Nok-Nok has his backed turned.

Auto-acquire BotGs. Discard to explore. - Muck Graul

Recharge Stormrune Knife for combat. +3 due to barriers in location. 1d4 for knife fighting.

Muck Graul-CtD: Combat 16 (15+1): 1d8 + 3 + 1d4 + 2 + 1d4 + 3 + 3d4 ⇒ (4) + 3 + (1) + 2 + (2) + 3 + (1, 4, 1) = 21
Defeated but no fire, undefeated so face again. Dagger of Doubling is a little worse, only adds 1d4+1+1d4. Search deck to grab Stormrune Knife back.

Muck Graul-CtD: Combat 16: 1d8 + 3 + 1d4 + 1 + 1d4 + 3 + 1d4 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (4) + 1 + (4) + 3 + (3) = 20 Beaten, but not defeated, Muck is recharged.

Muck Graul is a wily opponent, Nok-Nok was sure there were two of them, but while he wasn't able to score a direct hit, Nok-Nok put the hurt on him enough for him to know Nok-Nok isn't typical goblin he can boss around and Muck has to slink off to hole, leaving shrine spoils for Nok-Nok.

Turn 9, Blessing of Irori

Nok-Nok takes turn in Deeper Dungeons when he suddenly hears thunder approaching. Nok-Nok pretty sure this isn't something normal, thunder usually doesn't move so much as just boom out...and why is it getting so dusty in here.

2 dice from Blessing of Abadar, Nok-Nok adds 3 due to barriers at location.

Stampeding Aurochs-CtD: Stealth 16: 1d8 + 6 + 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 6 + (6, 4) + 3 = 20 Success, take 2 combat damage (recharging Mighty Steed and Belt of Strength), drawing Tears of Death. Banished.

Nok-Nok realizes at last possible second that it's a stampede and ducks over to the side. Despite hiding as best he knows how, he still is tossed about, but when they finally pass, he finds that they have knocked his poison out of his sack that he thought he had lost.

Discard Kupmuk to explore.

Nok-Nok is about to explore on, when he hears a high pitched whine coming from a nearby chest. Nok-Nok peers at it and sorts out that it has a Necromantic Deathtrap on it.

Reveal Burglar's Buckler to add a die, Nok-Nok power adds 3.

Necromantic Deathtrap-CtD: Disable 14: 2d10 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (6, 4) + 2 + 3 = 15 Success, banished.

Nok-Nok, pulls out Burglar Buckler and sets to work, cheerfully whistling a tune, imagining the riches he might find inside. In sort order, Nok-Nok pops the top and looks inside. He is horribly disappointed that it's empty.

Sulking a bit, Nok-Nok takes a moment to reset his gear before moving on.

Nok-Nok wakes up from long sleep, bleary eyed...he has grown long scraggly beard. Peering around he tries to remember what it was that he was doing when he feels a cool healing wind roll through.

Nok-Nok, Head Drum is healed for 3: (Kupmuk, Blessing of Kofusachi, Wayfarer). Deck shuffled.

Turn 5, Blessing of Gozreh

Nok-Nok thinks he not wise like friends so opts to not delve deeper at Gluttony...instead he heads off for Deeper Dungeon.

Where he finds nice man with strangely pointed teeth. But Nok-Nok also have pointed teeth so he seems like a nice man. Until he tries to bite Nok-Nok.

Skulking Vampire-Wisdom 16: 1d4 + 1d4 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + (2) + 4 + 3 = 11 Check is 4 harder.

Reveal and recharge stormrune knife for knife combat, revealing 3 weapons. Discard Lamashtu for a die. Discard Chaos Stone for assistance. Site adds 3.

Skulking Vampire-CtD: 27: 2d8 + 3 + 1d4 + 2 + 3d4 + 3 + 1d4 ⇒ (3, 3) + 3 + (3) + 2 + (2, 3, 2) + 3 + (1) = 25

Chaos Stone: 1d4 + 1d6 + 1d8 + 1d10 ⇒ (3) + (3) + (3) + (3) = 12

Hrm, apparently I'm adding 3 and taking 3. 25+3 = 28! Success!. 3 force damage to me - 2 as recharge (Tears of Death and Venomous Dagger) and discard BotQuartermaster for last point. Draw a card for power - Burglar's Buckler

Nok-Nok snaps to as the Vampire sinks it's teeth into him, lashing out with all the tools at his disposal, doing as much damage to himself as to the vamp. But he walks away and the Vampire isn't that lucky.

He takes a moment to patch himself up with lore learned from Forensic Physician. Reveal Physician to heal, than discard him.

Physician Heal: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Nok-Nok, Head Drum is healed for 2: (Blessing of the Quartermaster 1, Blessing of the Demon Queen). Deck shuffled.

Nok-Nok's Deckhandler | Party

Nok-Nok ponders smart thinking and decides maybe killing where old woman is the best plan for now. She can do her icky harvesty thing and prepare for the future. With that thought in mind, Nok-Nok sets to clearing Crypt again.

Nok-Nok immediately finds shrine to gods. Nok-Nok almost like family, so they greet him with assistance in the form of a new door to explore.

Acquire BotG automatically, discard BotG to explore.

Behind door is another shrine, this one explicitly for Irori. Nok-Nok tries to reach out using wisdom from Salty Man. Nok-Nok find him to be smart, so maybe Irori will be impressed.

Recharge Old Salt.

Blessing of Irori-CtA: Intelligence 4: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Success, acquired.

Nok-Nok feels pleased that he has learned to navigate a bit better in god house, but he quickly continues towards next door.

Discard Boots of Alacrity to explore. Hrm, going to use Arik/RR's Blessing of Zon-Kuthon for this one.

Door Spike-CtD: Disable 12: 3d10 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3, 5) + 2 + 3 = 16 Defeated, banished.

In his hurry, Nok-Nok doesn't notice the trap in the door util it's nearly too late. Fortunately Arik is more aware and calls out a warning at the last minute. Nok-Nok turns to ask what and the spikes just graze his back. He winces and allows his natural healing kick in.

Nok-Nok decides to follow aged wayfarer's advice and proceed a bit more cautiously.

Discard Wayfarer to explore, adding 2d6 to checks.

Door was guarding another trap!

Hrm, should have saved good con blessing for later trap..oh well, discard one of my blessings, discard Blessing of Kofusachi for a die.

Nok-Nok rush pillar that is charging with energy and rams it with his head. It's unconventional, but it audibly cracks and the energy dissipates.

Nok-Nok shakes his head and then heads further drawing on knowledge of Kupmuk, sure that a fight is coming...why else did he stay here...

Nok-Nok might be sure, but apparently all the traps are just guarding a belt. Looks nice, so he tries it on.

Nok-Nok knows he will need all the help he can get with the barrier, so he goes and recruits wayfarer's help to guide him through the explody runes.

Forgo free exploration, discard Wayfarer to explore, adding 2d6 to checks.

With the Wayfarer pointing the way, Nok-Nok sets about disarming the runes.

Wayfarer adds 2d6, Nok-Nok's ability adds 3.

With that dealt with, Nok-Nok asks for the Wayfarer's advice on how to close the Crypt.

Nok-Nok continues winding through this particular portion of the Crypts and stumbles across a very large pillar with a handle Nok-Nok gives it a keen eye and is able to deduce it's some sort of shield?

Fortress Shield-CtA: Fort 9: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Success!

Nok-Nok tries to heft it and finds it's lighter than he looks...however it's still taller than he is. He shrugs and drags it behind him.

Discard Old Salt to explore.

Nok-Nok follows old wisdom passed down by salt encrusted man at last port. He said to seek the gods...Nok-Nok doesn't know about these other gods, they seem puny in comparison to Lamashtu, but since he happened to stumble across Desna shrine...it couldn't hurt.

Blessing of Desna-CtA: Int 5: 1d4 ⇒ 4 Banished.

Nok-Nok tries to reach Desna, but she doesn't give good feedback. Nok-Nok instead reaches out to Lamashtu to provide guidance.

Discard Blessing of the Demon Queen to explore, adding 1d6.

Demon Queen smacks Nok-Nok upside the head for bothering her with directions and points out that there is a Deathweb around the corner that he could deal with.

Mental Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Nok-Nok takes 3, recharging 2 points (Sai and Venomous Dagger) and discarding Fortress Shield. Draw Chaos Stone for the trouble.

Nok-Nok is staggered a bit and manages to drop the newly acquired shield on his foot, which reminds him of the shiny rock he has stashed in the toe of his boot. Nok-Nok thanks Lamashtu for guidance and engages the Deathweb.

Nok-Nok pulls up Burglar Buckler to bounce off initial Deathweb attack. Nok-Nok smiles in return, pulls knives and wades in among the many legs.

Reveal Razorglass Knife for combat, adding +3 for barriers and 1d4 for knife, 1d6 from Demon Queen.

Deathweb-CtD: Combat 17: 1d8 + 3 + 2d4 + 2 + 1d4 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + 3 + (2, 3) + 2 + (3) + 3 + (1) = 25 Defeated and banished.

Nok-Nok is lost in Crypt, he knows somewhere his friends are nearby, but all these Crypts look the same. He kicks a piece of paper. It has writing on it, so he kicks it again.

Haste - autofail, banished. Discard Boots to explore.

He knows he just heard Grazzle recently warning about a sneak, but so far, all he finds for is Nok-Nok. He chuckles to himself at the joke, which distracts him from the Sneak making off with his new stuff.

Sneak-BYA: Wisdom 8: 1d4 + 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + (1) + 2 = 6 Discard Chaos Stone.

Reveal Razorglass Knife for combat, knife trait add 1d4, barriers add +3
Sneak-CtD: Combat 15: 1d8 + 3 + 2d4 + 2 + 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 + (4, 4) + 2 + (2) + 3 = 23

Nok-Nok realizes his special stone is gone shortly after and starts searching the deep shadow pockets and quickly discovers the Sneak. New glass knife makes short work of Sneak and he reclaim shiny rock.

Nok-Nok is about to move on when he notices the belt the sneak is wearing. It clearly has been well cared for, so Nok-Nok attempts to find the buckle to remove it.

Belt of Physical Might-CtA: Dexterity 9: 1d8 + 3 + 1d4 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (3) + 2 + (3, 3) = 16 Acquired!

Belt pops off pretty easy, it clearly wanted Nok-Nok to have it. He tries it on and feels amazing! He scans the room for something to stick a knife in.

Reveal Forensic Physician to heal back Chaos Stone, then discard him to explore.

Unfortunately in his excitement, he lets out a little cheer that carries up the mountain and is just enough sound to cause an Avalanche. Nok-Nok recognizes the sound and starts running!

Avalance-CtD: Dexterity 16: 1d8 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 3 = 14 Spend Blessing of the Savored Sting to reroll, adding 2 dice.

Avalanche take 2-CtD: Dexterity 16: 3d8 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (2, 6, 5) + 5 + 3 = 21 Success, banished, 1 point of cold damage - Belt, drawing a card for power - Blessing of Demon Queen.

Nok-Nok thinks he finds a safe place to hide, but as he's heading there a large rock tumbles down ahead of the snow and smashes onto table shattering it...Nok-Nok veers off and finds a crack in the wall that he can wiggle into just in time for the snow to thunder past.

Turn 9, Blessing of Nethys

Nok-Nok hoists his Trident ready to go do battle, when suddenly the weapon experiences some weird advanced aging effect and it disintegrates in his hands. Nok-Nok's eyes go wide and he decides maybe he had best hurry.

He goes tearing down a corridor in the Runewell, looking for something to fight, but as per normal his eyes snags on the shiny thing first.

Scorching Ray-CtA: Intelligence 6: 1d4 ⇒ 4 Failed, banished.

Shiny thing was just paper with "writing" on it, it was clearly an evil thing so he leaves it behind. Not content with the speed of his feet, he whistles up the Mighty Steed to make tracks away from the area that causes weapons to disintegrate!

Discard Mighty Steed to move to Shimmering Veils of Pride and encounter Hungerer.

Mighty Steed is swift, but doesn't understand task of stay in Runewell and goes scooting off to Grazzle and deposits Nok-Nok at the foot of disgusting looking Hungerer beast.

Clearly it's in need of stabbing to fix it!

Reveal and recharge Stormrune Knife, revealing two total weapons. Discard Demon armor for 1d4+1 and Fire.

Hungerer-CtD: Combat 22: 1d8 + 3 + 1d4 + 2 + 2d4 + 1d4 + 2 + 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + (4) + 2 + (2, 2) + (4) + 2 + (1) + 1 = 28 Defeated! Recharge Sai due to location text.

Hungerer looks like it might need extra stabbing, so Nok-Nok turns new Demon Armor to flame broil and sets to work stabbing with armor providing extra flame kiss to the process. Hungerer goes down to death of a 1000 cuts.

Nok-Nok gets burnt on the acid in the weird things veins, but he hardly notices as it heals up. Recharge instead of discarding for damage - Gem of Physical Prowess.

Nok-Nok is about to go find some things to fight, but lizard friend has pointed out some shiny loot. Clearly it was left for him.

Nok-Nok moves to Runewell.

Nok-Nok immediately finds the armor Grazzle mentioned, he picks it up frowns since it looks familiar. He then tries to put it on but doesn't get very far before looking quizzically to an Old Salt, who sighs and offers to try and fit it to the goblin.

Recharge Old Salt to add 6

Demon Armor-CtA: Fortitude 11: 1d10 + 3 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 6 = 17 Acquired!

Nok-Nok admires the armor as he slips it on, it makes him look big and mean. He approves and happily tromps over to see about that warhammer he also knows is around here.

Nok-Nok spits on his hands, claps them together and then tries to live the hammer. It doesn't budge an inch. He gives it a couple more tugs to no avail, clearly someone fused it to the ground. Nok-Nok leaves it behind, praying to the gods for something of more interest than a stupid hammer.

Discard Blessing of Lamashtu to explore.

Perhaps predictably, Lamashtu places a vicious trident in his path. Nok-Nok remembers this weapon being surprisingly good, but prone to dealing some damage back. Unfortunately, it's not a knife, so Nok-Nok only halfheartedly attempts to pull it from the rock wall.

Clearly it's meant to be, he holds it over his head as some music plays. He tries to tuck it behind his back held on by his bandoleers of knives, it drags on the ground as he continues to explore.

Nok-Nok tries to ponder the godhood of Gozreh...but it's too difficult, not nearly stabby enough for him. He passes by the shrine he finds, stalking any potential prey as taught to him by Kupmuk.

His stalking only turns up a wand, it looks interesting if only for potentially poking people in the eyes with...

Nok-Nok has hands full, time to go fight some things! Nok-Nok heads out to the Catacombs of Wrath to see what he can find. But apparently the monsters are all hiding. He'll take advantage and pick up this Luckstone though.

He immediately finds the Baykok that was sent to guard the place. Lucky rock indeed! Unfortunately it isn't lucky enough to prevent the Baykok from getting the jump on him.

Stormrune knife cuts through the Baykok like hot knife through butter, and just in time, as a Wrathful Sinspawn comes charging down the hall to backup his lord.

Nok-Nok feels this place of glass is alarming. Sharp things everywhere, plus the heat, and monsters...

He carefully picks his way around, but some stupid person left door open and guardian of thunder wanders in and starts blasting at people.

Nok-Nok quickly ducks behind metal pole that takes the strike ment for him, unfortunately he had his hand on it to adjust his trajectory and quickly suffers for it.

Electrical Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Recharging Forensic Physician and Boots of Alacrity for 2 damage, discarding Mighty Steed for last

Nok-Nok angry at stupid haunts distracting him recalls teaching of Kupmuk, strike frist and ask questions from no one. He pulls his Sai and tries to do some damage to this guy before he hurts everyone.

Reveal Kupmuk and discard top card, Blessing of Kofusachi, to add 1d8, Sai for knife combat, and 1 barrier.

Nok-Nok hears lizard friend is in need of assistance against mud man so he heads over to Glassworks and sets to work carving.

Reveal and recharge Stormrune Knife for knife combat with 3 total weapons, adding +2 for barriers

Takes a bit of practice, but with a little divine help and luck, Nok-Nok is able to land some solid blows and whittle it away to a nice keepsake, ready to be fired in a kiln.

Turn 4, Blessing of Abadar

Nok-Nok is all loaded up for some exploring, waves happily and heads off to the Rusty Dragon to meet up with lizard friend. Lizard friend has spotted human person who looks friendly, Nok-Nok tries to get info off of him.

Ilsoari Gandethus-CtA: Charisma 6: 1d8 ⇒ 5 Failed, choosing to banished.

Nok-Nok tries to strike up conversation, but something about the man seems off and it is highly distracting. Nok-Nok decides he doesn't trust him enough to want his help after all.

Discarding Wayfarer to explore adding 2d6 to checks.

A local wayfarer runs into the Rusty Dragon stammering about some ghost out in the courtyard. Nok-Nok races out to handle it since he is a hero! Haunt is howling about how it never gets anything nice.

Nok-Nok looks through his possessions and reluctantly offers it his Gem of Physical Prowess if it will leave town. It happily takes the gem but seems to attach itself to Nok-Nok someway..Nok-Nok frowns and decides he had better take stupid Haunt outside of town and try to deal with it later.

Banish Gem of Physical Prowess before the encounter. Haunt is Displayed next to Nok-Nok (+1 difficulty to all checks)

Rusty Dragon-CtC: Charisma 7 (6+1): 1d8 + 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (8) + (3) + 2 = 13 Success, Closed.

Nok-Nok glares at stupid Haunt floating beside him and hops on Mighty Steed to explore Village House instead.

Discard Mighty Steed to move and explore village house.

Mighty Steed is impressive and everyone in the village comes out to see it but first among them is Cyrdak Drokkus. Because he is suitable impressed Nok-Nok asks him to follow along.

Recharge Boots of Alacrity to acquire him.

Cyrdak Drokkus offers to show Nok-Nok to a man who knows all about his area, Nok-Nok follows him and is lead to a local Wayfarer that he's bumped into before.

Bury Cyrdak to return Wayfarer to hand, then discard to explore with 2d6 on checks.

Wayfarer smiles and shows Nok-Nok to another stupid Haunt. Nok-Nok isn't too excited by this, but he does his best to smile through it... Nok-Nok sighs and offers this Haunt his shield. Sure enough it leaves and stars following him as well.

Banish Burglar's Buckler before the encounter. Display 2nd haunt next to Nok-Nok.

Nok-Nok is sick of this town and it's stupid Haunts, he heads out of town but not before some thieving urchin takes one of his daggers.

Hrm, I'm thinking Weapon 6 and Blessing 6. Alternatively could go Item 6, but I'd definitely use it as a down scale to Item 5 for Tears of Death.

Demon Queen is 3 dice to any check, but deals 1d4 mental damage to Nok-Nok...but that's right up Nok-Nok's skill set so it's kind of awesome.

I want to do the higher die for Nok-Nok's reroll power, but hand size seems like the better option, so I'll be content with my d8 and go for more options in hand.

With advance warning of the villain being up ahead, Nok-Nok takes a moment to rummage around in his pack for his very best knife.

Discard Blessing of Kofusachi to draw Stormrune Knife.

Fully armed and as ready as he can make himself, he heads in to get all stabby on the Baykok Lord.

Unfortunately, the Baykok had a bead on him and unleashes a barrage of arrows. Nok-Nok attempts to do his best to dodge them all.

Baykok-BYA: Dexterity 12: 1d8 + 3 + 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (1) + 3 = 9 Failed.
Ranged Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 Taking the damage on wayfinder, recharging it instead and drawing one.

Nok-Nok fails to dodge, but it was a terrible shot and only grazes him. Nok-Nok retorts with lots of stabbing.

Recharge Stormrune Knife for combat, revealing 3 weapons. Recharging Old Salt to add 4.

Mother Myrtle weakens it: 1d12 ⇒ 6

Baykok Lord-CtD: Combat 27 (28+5-6): 1d8 + 3 + 1d4 + 2 + 3d4 + 1d4 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (4) + 2 + (3, 2, 4) + (1) + 2 + 4 = 27 Good enough, over to RR to wrap it up!

Nok-Nok stabs it hard, electricity crackling and lancing into the undead lord. Nok-Nok jumps back and lines up a shot with the splashbolt as the Red Raven closes in.

Nok-Nok hears lizard friend has spotted Baykok hiding in vault, Nok-Nok feels pretty good about eliminating that threat and sneaks over to stick it with pointy end of dagger. Unfortunately Baykok is expecting this and lashes out.

BYA-Ranged Combat Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4 Reveal shield to reduce by 2, take the other 2 by recharging shield and recharging boots.

Nok-Nok takes Baykok to the face, but just manages to get the shield up in time to deflect a portion of the blow and roll out of melee range. Popping up he hurls stormrune knife towards its eye.

Recharge Stormrune Knife for knife combat, reveal 1 other weapon, 1 barrier so Nok-Nok adds +2.

Nok-Nok feels ready to take on the world! Or maybe to go grab that very shiny armor that Grazzle just pointed out. Nok-Nok rushes over to get to it first.

Demon Armor-CtA: Fortitude 11: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 Failing, discard Blessing of the Savored Sting to add 2 dice and try again.

Demon Armor-CtA: Fortitude 11: 3d10 + 2 ⇒ (7, 5, 10) + 2 = 24 Success, acquired!

Nok-Nok pinches a finger trying to put the armor on and drops it in his haste, taking a deep breath he calms himself down and slowly buckles it into place. Stylish!

Discard Boots to explore.

No sooner does he latch the metal armor in place than a Stone Giant comes stomping around the corner. Nok-Nok frowns at his Splashbolt, wondering where he put his knives, but lines up a shot on the giant's eye.

Reveal Splashbolt for combat, Nok-Nok adds 1 for barriers in location, Reveal Kupmuk and discard from deck to add 1d8.

Stone Giant-CtD: Combat 16: 1d8 + 3 + 1d10 + 1 + 1d8 ⇒ (5) + 3 + (3) + 1 + (2) = 14 Failing, Nok-Nok redoubles effort with character power.

2nd chance Stone Giant-CtD: Combat 16: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20 Defeated, banished!

The shot lands solidly but doesn't quite do enough damage to finish the job. Nok-Nok launches himself at the giant fighting tooth and claw. The Stone Giant lands a blow before going down, knocking Nok-Nok into a wall. Nok-Nok stands up and brushes himself off.

Nok-Nok power damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Recharge Demon armor to reduce by 3, Nok-Nok suffers one damage which is reduced by recharging Kupmuk and then draws a card (venomous dagger+2).

Demon armor took the brunt, but he has a bit of a scratch that quickly heals up. Oh and in the process of checking himself out Nok-Nok finds a knife!

Discard Blessing of Kofusachi to explore.

He also spots a Magic Spyglass sitting on a nearby pedestal like it's just waiting for him. Nok-Nok races over and attempts to grab it.

Magic Spyglass-CtA: Intelligence 8: 1d4 + 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + (1) + 2 = 4 Failed, banished.

Unfortunately pedestal is too high, he comes up with complicated scheme for running and jumping to grab it, but despite his best efforts it's still out of reach. He kicks the pedestal which tips it over and the spyglass falls to the floor and breaks. Discouraged, Nok-Nok hops on Mighty Steed to lift his spirits with some roasted chicken.

Discard Mighty Steed to move to Desecrated Vault and explore.

Reveal Venomous Dagger for knife combat, add 2 for barriers.

Roc-CtD: Combat 17: 1d8 + 3 + 1d4 + 2 + 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (4) + 2 + (1) + 2 = 14 Failing...
Roc-CtD: Combat 17: 14 + 1d8 ⇒ 14 + (4) = 18 Defeated...?
Nok-Nok power damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Suffer 4, will recharge forensic physician and venomous dagger for 2, discard splashbolt for 3, and nothing left for 4.
location effect: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Nope, Roc flees and Nok-Nok follows.

Random Location not #3: 1d6 ⇒ 5 Nok-Nok and Roc head off to Catacombs of Wrath, Roc shuffles in.

Nok-Nok tries to attack Roc, but it is strangely resilient to his attacks, poison doesn't work, teeth and claws felt like it worked, but then the darn thing got up and flies away. Nok-Nok chases after it wishing he hadn't dropped his splashbolt somewhere.

Ooh shiny! Nok-Nok happily grabs the armor and tries it on.

Nok-Nok cries a bit as he finds several large holes and dents. Clearly it wasn't resistant to blunt force trauma and piercing. Nok-Nok tosses it aside and goes looking for trouble.

Nok-Nok's wayfinder leads him past the door spotted earlier but doesn't lead him around the Ogrekin that is waiting to smash him. Fortunately, Nok-Nok strikes first!

Discard Dagger of Doubling for knife combat.

Knife in the eye is effective, so much so he takes a moment to find another knife for the next thing before exploring further.

Nok-Nok is about to leave when he spots the weapon in the late Ogrekin's hands. That hatchet looks pretty nice.

Turn 3, Blessing of Calistria

Nok-Nok is all excited to receive the brain searing blessing of Lamashtu (stays course and does not move), but instead just finds Warrior of Wrath waiting for him. Stupid wizard man casts flamey dart at Nok-Nok.

Warrior of Wrath-BYA: Dexterity 12: 1d8 + 3 + 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 + (3) + 3 = 14

Nok-Nok lazily side steps the dart and it flashes by to splash against the ground. Fortunately Lizard friend is here and angry wizard man has to split his attention which allows Grazzle an opportunity to crack him over the head with a staff.

Reduce difficulty: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Dazed and stumbling, Nok-Nok lines up a shot with Splashbolt, sending a bolt towards the mage while he's still recovering from the solid thunk from Grazzle.

Warrior of Wrath-CtD: Combat 14 (20-6): 1d8 + 3 + 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 + (7) + 3 = 15 Defeated!

Shrine of Lamashtu-CtC: Divine 6: 1d4 + 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + (2) + 3 = 6

Warrior dead, but flames are getting out of control. Nok-Nok thinks Lamashtu must have abandoned this shrine since he felt no blessing. So with it burning down, Nok-Nok hops on Mighty Steed and heads to Guard Tower.

Discard Mighty Steed to move and explore.

Mighty Steed drops Nok-Nok off at foot of tower, and runs off just as Nok-Nok spots something shiny on the ground.

Ring of Protection-CtA: Fort 5: 1d10 + 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + (4) + 1 = 13 Acquired

Shiny thing is a ring, Nok-Nok pops it on his fingers before heading into Tower.

Discard Kupmuk to explore, adding 1d4 to combat this explore.

Nok-Nok opts to sneak in the back way for tower and finds Yappy Pixie who offers to tell him all about the tower and where to go next.

Yap the Pixie-CtA: Charisma 2: 1d8 ⇒ 1 Banished

Nok-Nok finds pixie annoying and swats him out of the sky before continuing on.

Discard Old Salt to explore.

Pixie pings off a metal sound, which draws Nok-Nok's attention to a Magic Spyglass he overlooked. Sweeping dazed pixie aside, Nok-Nok picks up the Spyglass and examines it carefully.

Recharging Gem of Physical Prowess to use Con die.

Magic Spyglass-CtA: Wisdom 8: 1d10 + 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + (2) + 1 = 6 Banished

Clearly the pixie has broken this spy glass, nok-Nok tosses it aside before heading deeper into the tower.

Getting into the Guard Tower Proper, Nok-Nok comes across a Grizzled Mercenary. He picks up his weapons and charges at Nok-Nok who quickly tries to convince the angry man that he is a friend and just looking for evil people.

Nok-Nok doesn't make much headway with Grizzled man, in fact he mostly just chucks objects in his way while trying to evade him. Fortunately he's able to duck around a couple corners and loose the man in the tower.

Nok-Nok passes time in the prison poking at the walls of his cell and is surprised when one the wall springs open and offers up a nice suit of armor.

Not only is suit of armor nice looking, it fits perfectly and makes Nok-Nok feel super invincible. He gives a fearsome roar..which is answered by an Ogre!

Reveal Stormrune Knife for knife combat. +3 for barriers in location.

Fortunately Nok-Nok is able to lash out at the Ogre from inside his prison cell, safely protected in his new suit of armor on the other side of the cell bars.

Fortunately the screaming and fighting brings a physician in who patches up Nok-Nok before ushering in a guest.

Alu-Demon is immune to stabby knife at hand, but not so immune to splashbolt to the face. Unfortunately, splashbolt misses perfect mark and only scores solid hit. Nok-Nok has to give Alu-Demon solid headbutt before it drops. And shiney new armor is all dented up. Very sad day.
