"Little?" Reza asks, glancing at Lyriah out of the corner of his eye. "That was not..." he sees the mandibles, and shudders. "Not. Little." He begins looking around for anything else useful in the room, before preparing to head down the stairs.

Reza's sword and shield are an iron wall against any attack. When Durandel points towards the spider, he swings the blade and shield into a ready stance to deal with it. OOC: Not that this affects anything until my turn. Flavor text only for the moment.

Reza swings at another Pugwampi!

Reza moves in to stand with Durandel, calling out a prayer to Sarenrae as he does, hoping to distract the little monsters from Novid. Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

KnowledgeNature: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13 At first, Reza thinks Tariq is firing at him, and then, he hears the solid thunk of the bolt hitting the baboon's skull behind him, and the chittering of the apes. He swivels from the argument, now irrelevant, and clashes his scimitar against his shield. "Let's not monkey around with these things, eh?" he says, laughing, and readies himself for an assault. OOC: Readying an action--the instant one of the baboons charges in range of him, he'll attack the thing. To save time, should that happen: Spoiler: Scimitar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Reza's eyes widen at the rift between the elven woman and the cleric, as he tries to defuse the situation. "Friends, let us remember that we may not be alone in this place?" He meaningfully glances around the room. "My inclination, like Tariq's, would be to not disturb any relics of the faith, though I concede the point on removing them to ensure they are not defiled or found by monsters."

Reza raises a hand to his mouth and nose at the scent from the nave. "Lovely. This place will need a thorough cleansing." He steps forward into the building itself, his lantern held in his shield hand, looking about for any signs of more monstrous squatters. Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 3

"I've always rather liked the front door," Reza says, his grin not meeting his eyes, the Faris' thoughts already on the potential for battle. "But perhaps not in this case, given those mudslides. If we go in that way, we will need to ensure we don't sink into the mud." He begins checking his pack for his ropes and gear, just in case they decide to go in that way. "Let's get a bit closer and see what can be seen." Reza begins approaching the monastery, looking for the best means of ingress.

"Perhaps Tariq has some that might help?" Reza wonders aloud, and makes a note to check in with the other man once they arrive, in case they run into more of the little monsters. "Well... this has seen better days," he mutters as he looks up at the monastery. Getting off his horse, Reza gathers his equipment so as to be ready, should more problems loom inside.

“I’m inclined to agree with you, Durandel. Fortunately, it was not one of many. We should be cautious to avoid large numbers of the little beasts.” Rena checks in on his horse after the conversation winds down, and on Lyriah, before they head out—mostly to make sure his sister didn’t wind up as embarrassingly scratched up by the cacti as he did!

Reza blinks in surprise at the... thing... that is now attacking the party. For a split second he's not entirely sure if the cactus had a hallucinogen in it, or if it's actually happening. And then all hell breaks loose, and he steps in to attack as well. Roll 1:

OOC: I think I can get in there, Neil, from the map, but if not, let me know.

Reza spends most of the next thirty seconds trying to avoid keening out loud in pain from the spike that nearly unmanned him. "Yes," Reza says to Novid. "Next time. Burn it. It's the only way to be sure." He shudders as he clears the rest of the cacti. "I'll... stand watch," he says, as he sees the chaos of the goat chase happening. He readies his shield and sword in case they are ambushed while chasing Dashki off the cliff.

"If I did not know better, I would think we were living through some nightmare or other..." says Reza, continuing on his way, and wiping at a cut on his brow from the cactus. Acrobatics: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (3) - 5 = -2

Reza does the same, pulling out a rope and hooks for climbing. "Well, hopefully not all of us..." he mutters under his breath, and starts setting up to climb the rock wall. He tucks his shield back up onto his back, lashing it and his sword to ensure they don't fall off while he climbs. "I suppose now's a bad time to mention that I despise heights?" OOC: Neil, are we able to take 10 on this, or are we in 'combat time?'
