Greetings, paizonians!

I've been reading Book 1 so far, and I loved it!

But there is something that pop up in Part 2...

Why the hemlock? I know it's intended as a symbol, but... Why a hemlock? What does it mean?

Can be a silly question, but I haven't figured out yet.

Thanks in advance for your ideas!

Greetings paizonians! It's been a while since I visited these forums... In fact, last time I read them, they were called "messageboards"!

Anyway, I now seek your help and guidance with these character concept, but first, the guidelines:

[list]

  • It's for a 4 to 8 level campaign. Start at Lv 4.
  • No 3PP are allowed.
  • The base is an Order of the Dragon Cavalier (strategist).
  • I don't want to take levels in barbarian.
  • If possible, avoid multiclassing.
  • About combat style, I want something like a switch hitter, someone who can be useful in combat, mounted or unmounted.
  • I like "sword and board" combat style, but I'm open to suggestions.
  • I want my cavalier to make good use of teamwork feats, and buffing party members.[list/].

Thanks for your advice and opinions!

  • Well, it's been quite a time since my last post (let alone creating a thread!), but I hope this would be a good one.

    The questions are:

    1. Which are those games/campaigns that you (as a GM) want to run?

    2. Which are those games/campaigns that you (as a player) want to be a part of?

These are some of my own GMing dreams:

    • An anime-style Mage: The Awakening game with my own homebrew core mechanics.
    • A Red Hand of Doom game, in its original format (D&D 3.5) or converted to Pathfinder.
    • A Cthulhutech game.
    • A homebrew campaign located in the Five Kings Mountains.
    • A Mythender game.
    • A space adventure game set in the DBZ universe.

    Inspiration Notes:
All of these would be full of tweaks and small home rules, of course. Also, I like to take (shameless ripoff) inspiration from my favorite movies, books tv and anime series...

    And so on,

What's yours? Maybe you can find people ready to play/GM your dream game here in the boards!

I've posted this in another thread before, but I realized that the Advice forum doesn't give so much... advice. Anyway, I hope the messageboards folks can help me on this one!

Well, I've been running a home game using The Ruby Phoenix Tournament, and it's going quite well. The problem is that the plot has been a little... modified, so I ran out of exhibition fights for Day 3 onwards.

So! I've come here seeking for ideas from the messageboards folks, looking for awesome, cinematic and challenging encounters to provide my players. Let me read (since these are writing forums) your thoughts!

First of all, I've been thinking about an exhibition fight using the following elements:

    -Water.
    -Cold damage/creatures.
    -Fire damage/creatures.

Searching through the old D&D 3.5 Monster Manuals I've found the Elemental Magi, a special kind of Ogre Mage with element-based powers which I think fits very well with the overall setting of the module (since Ogre Mage has been redefined as Oni).

What do you think? Any exciting ideas?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

P.S. On a side note, the party is composed of seven (yes, seven) players with somewhat optimized builds. They lack an arcane full caster and is primarily combat-oriented.

Finally, the 32th Ruby Phoenix Tournament has begun!

This will be the campaign journal for the PFRPG home game I'm running. It's the weekly game that our home group is playing and I offered myself to be the GM.

So far, the group consist of:

    • Dakshi Nisthura/Dhusara Fahou: An alchemist looking to increase his personal power, and a noble beast trapped inside him who wants its freedom.
    • Ryunosuke: A samurai who is the lost scion of a noble house which was stripped away from their honor.
    • Stormwind: A half-elf warrior who wields the ferocity of the Great Tiger King.
    • Fau Kong: A street performer, bounty hunter (and part-time bartender) seeking for glory.
    • Jan Clon Chinggon: A savage warrior (and comic relief)who battle with sharp claws and overhelming fury.
    • Varanus: A nagaji ranger who fights to prove himself.
    • A mysterious oracle, agent of the Pathfinder Society and called by destiny...

And that's the cast for now. More updates soon!

I have a very simple question with a not-so-simple answer.

If a barbarian has the "Greater Brawler" rage power:

    Greater Brawler wrote:

    Prerequisite: Brawler rage power

Benefit: While raging, the barbarian is treated as if she has Two-Weapon Fighting when making unarmed strike attacks.

Is she qualified to take the TWF feats (Improved/Greater TWF, Two-Weapon Defense)?

    Thanks again for your answers!

After a (brief) search on the boards, I couldn't find an answer to this, so here we go:

Back in the days of D&D 3.5, when you gain Evasion from two different classes, you gain Improved Evasion instead. Occurs the same in Pathfinder RPG?

    Thanks for your answers! :)

    Hi, and thanks for reading.

Well, this question is very simple and I think someone could have already answered it...

Exactly, what kind of systems are allowed to use in the Paizo messageboards for a PbP campaign?

Only Pathfinder or OGL? Others games (like WoD or Traveller) can be used?

    Which are the limitations?

    Thanks for your answers...

    Hi everyone!

So, this thread is to know just that: Who was the weirdest character you've seen at your table.

Not only yours, but the weirdest character you've seen at your table.

Like any good thread opener, let me start:

In a Jade Regent AP that I've been playing (with the same PCs we went through Council of Thieves and was a blast) we got what we call a "multiethnic and multicultural paladin". He was a gnome paladin of Iomedae (mostly a human goddess), who was later reincarnated as a semi-orc and fights using an elven curved blade.

    What about you?
