I was really looking forward to this one guys, but unfortunately the long wait and lack of regular updates have wore me out. If the game itself proceeds in the same similar fashion, then it will not work for me.

So I offer my apologies, but I am dropping out of this one before it starts, giving you a chance to pick someone for my spot.

I wish you all the best, and hope to see you around the boards.

Cheers!
Reknar

I intend to keep on putting points in Linguistics as we go - so should end up with a few. The sergeant came across many different scenarios back in his days with the military, and every so often he remembers having learned some tidbits here and there ;)

So.....

Reknar folds. He is all out of dots.

.

Since Kib put down his dot, Reknar will take it. Tough!

Without wanting to be gruff or unpleasant, I am going to echo Kib on this one - Spazmodeus, any idea when we will be able to move forward?

If after all you have come to the conclusion that running this game is not possible, it is all good - we all know how hard it is to run one game, let alone multiple ones.

Let us know.

Cheers!

Sorry to hear that Shadoo - hope all turns out well for you.

See you around!

Dat daily dot.

All good, all good ;)

Done and dusted ;)

Daily dot, just to let everyone know I am here.

Daily posting ;)

Added some specific acquaintances to Reknar's profile. GM Spazmodeus let me know if the below is acceptable.

Reknar's acquaintances:

Luzarne Parrin (from the Retired Goon trait) – He has worked (and maybe still does?) for her. Reknar hates bullies, and right after arriving back at Diamond Lake he got into a scuffle with some of Smenk's goons. Luzarne saw it, a nd decided to offer him a job, which he accepted without much hesitation - not for some sense of duty, but because he needed money.

Other acquaintances:
The Garrison - Captain Tolliver Trask. The Captain was already around when Reknar was imprisoned. He knew the boy mostly from afar, but something made him intercede. It was thanks to him that Reknar was given a chance to serve a shorter sentence in the army. Now that the half-orc is back in town, they have crossed paths more than once but have not exchanged words yet.

The Captain’s Blade - Tyorl Ebberly. Reknar works part time with Tyorl. He knows his way around a forge, so he has a verbal agreement with Tyorl, and comes in every once in a while to lend a hand. Seems like a good enough deal for all parties involved - Tyorl gets a strong arm assisting him for a small pay, or a choice of a simple weapon or accessory here and there. Reknar enjoys the physical labour - sometimes it helps him to think, others it simply allows him to think about nothing at all except the task at hand.

Will finish populating the alias with the character profile in a few.

Not a deserter.

Same as Kib here - should we ask for the access, or will you change the permissions GM Spazmodeus?

Dotted

Dotted.

Here!

Dropping a dot here just in case, but I assume there will be two different threads.

Hey guys, I wanted to drop you all a line and say I am going to leave the game. My upfront apologies to you all - this is all on me, I am simply not feeling it.

Not much point in dissecting it, but I am not getting the thrill, or enthusiasm, or excitation of building a kingdom, being a part of its growth.

So... Yeah. I will step aside, and leave room for someone perhaps more enthusiastic.

For what it is worth, there were some really good moments, and I hope you guys carry on to Glory! Good luck with the game.

"I think I remember coming across quills like these once - lads in the platoon said it belonged to a... What was it?"

Knowledge (Arcana) Aid: 1d20 ⇒ 15

Reknar takes a moment to study the tracks.

Take 10 on Survival: 10 + 10 = 20

Always here.

Sweet!

To a Garrison ;)

Checked out the Two Fat Chefs restaurant online DBH - food looks amazing :D

If DBH says we do not need a second Barracks in Levetown, shall we proceed with the Garrison then?

Out in the Sun... Lucky you! Windy and rainy in my neck of the woods.

We need better protection for the settlements. No point in having it grow if we cannot protect it - that is Reknar's opinion.

Reknar will spend most of his time on the road - from Levetown, to Thornholme, to the Watchtower at Stag Fort. He trains with the militia and stationed patrols, receives their input on current events, and generally spends time with the rugged soldiers - he feels right at home.

DBH, what kind of defensive forces do we have exactly in each of these locations?

Reknar leaves the infant owlbear with Colwyn, as the man clearly seems interested in it.

"Levetown will need a garrison of some sort" - Reknar pipes in, beer mug in hand - "Any settlement needs defense, and they are vulnerable"

Enjoy the evening DBH.

We are still level 7 right?

Cast it on Zelera - at least spellcasting can be done from afar. Reknar is a melee guy.

"I guess grunts always do the walking" - Reknar chuckled, when Niadroub threw down the rope for him, and started climbing.

Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

:D

"I vote for that" - Reknar nodded - "Burn them out" - presenting a strange image to say the least, with the swaddled owlbear cub held with one arm.

Sells for 3000gp as well. :)

Hey we want to keep it! :P

Also, I think untrained rolls cannot go over 10? So we still need one more Aid Another right?

Heal: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12

Wow, I think none of us has the Heal skill? And apologies for the delayed posting - Moved house last Sunday and it has been crazy.

Renar turns the ring around in his hands - "I wonder if this is the reason why that owlbear was so out of control..." - he comments, looking at the dead body - "Serves you well" - he grunts - "And again the settlement is marked on the map"

V7

Reknar approaches the creature carefully - "Yep, you are in a bad spot now..."

Reknar intends to cast Cure Light Wounds on the cub to make her stable. Does it have an aggressive stance, or too weak for that?

Reknar follows his companions along, as they explore the area - "Nice job back there gents and Miss - that could have turned sour real quick" - he adds, taking a look at the area around, for any signs of passage that may hint if they will find others in the cave.

Survival: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Reknar waits for the scouting reports.

I am always on the lookout for a new adventure, and thank you for dropping us a line. But like we talked about before Richard, underwater adventures just make me want to cry me heart out :P

I wish you guys best of luck with the game!

"You are going to make me look lazy!" - Reknar grunts as the others put on a display of force.

Keeping up Inspire Courage. Remember the bonus is +2 now.

Sorry to hear about that DBH... Hope all turns out for the best.

No worries DBH!

Mirror Images: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

If my spells are cast, Reknar keeps up Inspire Courage, zaps his wand of Shield, and waits outside.

"Draw it out! Keep peppering the beast from afar!"

Shield UMD: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32

Reknar is going to cast Invisibility on Colwyn, Mirror Image on himself, and start Inspire Courage in that order.

"Guys?" - the half-orc insists to the others - "Any other ideas besides just trying to kill this one?"

Lure it out!

"Is this beast beyond any reasoning? Does it have the intelligence of an animal, or more than that?" - Reknar inquires - "Do we have any idea why it is on such rampage? Animals do not usually do such things"

Knowledge (Is it Arcana?): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
