Special Abilities

Elemental Eidolons - At 1st level, an elemental ally has four elemental eidolons she can summon, one each for the elements of air, earth, fire, and water. Their abilities and statistics are determined using the rules for elemental eidolons for the summoner class from page 33 of Pathfinder RPG Pathfinder Unchained, as if the elemental ally were a summoner of her druid level, except they gain no additional evolution pool (just those evolutions from their base form and base evolutions from their subtype). Each of the four elementals has its own base form, skills, and feats. The elemental ally can summon one of these elementals with the same 1-minute ritual a summoner normally uses to do so. The elemental ally can’t summon an eidolon or cast summon nature’s ally if she currently has an eidolon summoned. She also can’t summon an eidolon if she currently has a creature summoned through other means. If one of the elemental ally’s eidolons is killed, she cannot summon any eidolons for 24 hours. The elemental ally can dismiss her eidolon as a standard action. As the elemental ally gains levels, her elemental eidolons’ base statistics and base evolutions increase as if her druid level were her summoner level. The eidolons gain the darkvision, link, share spells, evasion, ability score increase, devotion, multiattack, and improved evasion abilities at the appropriate levels, but never gain an evolution pool. Abilities and spells that grant additional evolution points to eidolons do not function for elemental eidolons, though any ability that would grant evolution points to an animal companion does work. The elemental ally does not gain life link or any other class features a summoner gains in relation to her eidolon. This ability replaces nature’s bond and wild shape.
Elemental Empathy +1 (Ex) - An elemental ally can improve the attitude of a creature of the elemental subtype. This ability functions just like a Diplomacy check to improve the attitude of a person. The elemental ally rolls 1d20 and adds her druid level and her Charisma modifier to determine the elemental empathy check result. To use elemental empathy, the elemental ally and the elemental must be able to study each other, which means that they must be within 30 feet of one another under normal conditions. Generally, influencing an elemental in this way takes 1 minute, but as with influencing people, it might take more or less time. An elemental ally can also use this ability to influence a non-elemental outsider with the air, earth, fire, or water subtype, but she takes a –4 penalty on the check. This ability replaces wild empathy.
Elemental Magic - The elemental ally can target elementals (including her elemental eidolons) with any spell she casts that targets animals, even though elementals can’t normally be targeted by such spells.
Nature Sense (Ex) - A druid gains a +2 bonus on Knowledge (nature) and Survival checks.

Background:

From a young age, Reja had always known that she was just a little bit different than most. She had always felt drawn to the rare elements of nature itself - the crackle of the flame, the breeze against her cheek, the texture of the earth beneath her feet, the coolness of water on her tongue. It wasn't unusual for Reja to become completely entranced by these sensations, at times forgetting whatever task she had been working on at the time. As she grew older this strange pull also grew stronger and stronger, compelling her to begin venturing beyond the relative safety of Katapesh's walls to immerse herself in the natural world. There were times that she would occasionally hear stories of others who felt the call of nature and she began actively seeking them out in an effort to learn more about who and what she really was. It was through this that she slowly began to learn to harness the powers of nature and to call them to her aid and to learn the secret language spoken only by those like herself - fellow 'druids'.

As Reja grew more comfortable in her training and began exercising her powers more frequently, she made a surprising discovery. Each time she would reach out to call the creatures of the land to her aid, she felt as though there were other beings that could also hear this call - and were trying to answer. Although a bit fearful of what would happen, she instead began to focus solely on the connection she felt to these other beings...and as the connection grew stronger, four shapes began to materialize before her: two that walked on all fours, one shaped vaguely like a woman, one with the form of a snake. This wasn't the most surprising thing, however. No, what was truly astonishing is that each one appeared the very embodiment of each of the four elements. And each one felt oddly...familiar, like an old friend.

Time passed and Reja grew more comfortable with her new friends, naming each one. Naseem, the energetic whirlwind. Ajala, the steadfast. Sholeh, fiery and tempestuous. Salil, calm and patient. And Reja quickly learned that except for the first meeting, she was unable to call more than one of them to her side at a time. In truth it was probably for the best; it hadn't taken long for Sholeh to begin arguing with Salil and for Naseem to begin amusing himself by racing circles around Ajala. Although she quickly grew to love these strange companions, she felt no closer to understanding where her connection with them came from.

Reasoning that perhaps looking inward might yield more clues, Reja turned her attention to her past and family history in search of answers. Her mother had died when she was very young and though she loved her father, they had never been extremely close. They were, and had been, a family of artisans that crafted jewelry to sell in the local markets. Unfortunately, her father had passed during one of her trips out into the wilderness and all Reja was left with was an old journal her father had kept. When she began reading she was shocked to discover that her family was originally from a small village called Kelmarane and that some horrific tragedy had befallen the village, claiming many lives - including that of her mother. Although her father had originally been born in Katapesh, Kelmarane was her mother's home and birthplace. Wondering if perhaps answers lay someone in her mother's past or bloodline, Reja knew she had to visit the ruins of her old village. And, as if the gods themselves were looking out for her, she quickly heard news of an expedition to Kelmarane being organized by a man named Garavel...

Appearance:

Reja is a slim Keleshite woman of average height, with short black hair and piercing green eyes. Her skin is tanned from time in the sun and she dresses in leathers and a simple outfit suited for the hot climate of Katapesh. She's also clearly prepared for the prospects of desert travel judging by the collection of gear that she carries with her. She carries a spear in one hand and a sling can also be seen hanging from her belt.

Personality:

Although she is generally calm and not prone to rash behavior, those who spend time with her might notice that her moods and behaviors tend to resonate somewhat with whichever elemental happens to be at her side.

Favored Class Bonuses:

1st: +1 Skill Point

Character Mechanics:

Reja will be a dedicated caster druid and will select her spells largely according to party composition and need (healing, utility, etc). Each of her four eidolons will be able to offer different means of contributing to combat but the intention is to for them to largely contribute by means such as offering flanking with melee PCs or by acting as a bodyguard. They will also each contribute different skills but with the intent to aid other PCs rather than steal the show from skill-based characters.
