Congrats on the level guys! DM, I believe this is where Reja will take her leave unless you need anything else from me. Once again it's been fun and I hope to see you all on the forums in the future :)

Whenever it pleases you DM, would you please set me to inactive status? Thanks!

Inactive

"Yes...ve had best return now, before anything else comes upon us!" Reja agrees as she beckons to her eidolon companion. "Come, Ajala! Back to the camp ve go!"

Inactive

"Hah! That vas a nice blow Ajala!" Reja hoots as she sends another sling bullet whizzing towards Mokknok, only to clatter off into the darkness.

Attack (Sling; Into Melee): 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 2 - 4 = 3
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Inactive

"Come on, we almost have him!" Reja calls encouragingly as she sends another sling bullet at the oversized pugwampi.

Attack (Sling): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

No problem! I've not been on the GM side of the equation but I've seen plenty of fellow players ghost and although I know sometimes RL happens without warning, it really irritates me when people vanish and never pop back in to explain why.

Hey folks, this isn't 100% related to the most recent happenings in my life (which have included catching the flu and losing my grandmother) but it *has* given me time to think on things a bit and I've come to the decision that I need to lighten my PbP load by a few games. It's been a slow process but I think I've taken on more than I can really handle right now and the stress of trying to keep up with them all is starting to have a negative impact on my mood and capability to write. Rather than have all of my games suffer for it, I'd rather let a few go so I can better focus on the ones that remain (and have a little more free time for other hobbies again, too).

It wasn't an easy decision to make (like picking among my non-existent children) but I believe this is one that I'm going to bow out of. It's been a fun game and my decision to leave is in no way a reflection on our GM or any of the other players. Since we were planning to head back out and rest anyway, I'm happy to stick around long enough to help finish this battle before departing for good. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience that this will cause but hopefully you'll be able to recruit another player quickly and it won't slow the game down too much. Feel free to have Reja head back to Katapesh or become an NPC guarding the caravan or kill her off as it suits the story.

It's been a pleasure playing with everyone and I hope our paths will cross again in the future, hopefully under better circumstances for me :)

Hey guys, I'm going to be pulling 12s at work for the next three days so you may not see much in the way of posts from me during that time. I'll try to check in/keep up as much as I can but it may not be until Friday night or Saturday before I'll get caught up. As always, feel free to bot me for combat/skill checks as needed!

Reja tries once more to crack the pugwampi leader with a sling bullet!

Attack (Sling; Into Melee): 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 4 = 15
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Inactive

No worries DM; your schedule sounds a bit like my work schedule so I understand how difficult it can be to find time to post!

Inactive

"Hah! I think I am getting the hang of this," Reja grins as she readies her sling and sends another stone whizzing forth, this time at King Mokknok.

Attack vs. Mokknok (Sling; Into Melee): 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 2 - 4 = 13
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Inactive

Sorry, work and catching up on sleep kept me busy the past few days!

Reja continues to try and pelt the pugwampi archers with bullets from her sling!

Previous Round Attack
Attack vs. Archer (Sling): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Crit Confirm?: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Current Round Attack
Attack vs. Archer (Sling): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Inactive

Reja readies her sling and takes aim at one of the archer pugwampis and lets fly with a stone, hoping to keep it from harrying Adroushan and the others!

Attack vs. Pugwampi Archer (Sling): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Inactive

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

"Ohh...oh dear..." Reja gasps. "Vhere did they come from?"

Without wasting any time she reaches out and places a hand on Ajala granting her a bit of guidance before pulling out her sling once more.

"I suppose it's do-or-die now," she says, eyes narrowed.

Standard to hit Ajala with Guidance and then a move action to draw her sling!

Inactive

"Here, let us help search - it vill go faster that vay," Reja offers with a smile as she moves help search the mess hall.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Inactive

"Much like Josria, I am now limited to very simple magics until I have had some rest," Reja replies. "But Ajala is still hale and hearty and so I believe ve shall be okay to finish looking at these last few rooms as Mahk suggests," she says encouragingly.

Inactive

Eek, sorry to hear that you've been sick since you got home! I hope you get to feeling better quickly (and that you had a nice trip at least).

Also Reja isn't married to idea of leaving without killing the pugwampi so if consensus is to just kill it real quick before we head back out to rest up then she'll not kick up a fuss :)

Inactive

Upon seeing that none of her companions have any better ideas, Reja sighs. "Maybe ve should leave it for now...I know it may still prove dangerous but our energy has been sapped by taking care of the threats ve have found so far," she points out. "Perhaps ve should vithdraw back to the camp and recover before trying to press forward...and before tangling vith more foes."

I know we've been quiet due to the holidays but here's a little poke to start things rolling again!

Inactive

"Oh...um..." Reja stammers, a little surprised to see the remaining pugwampi surrender. "Vhat now?" she asks, looking at the others. "Should ve just leave it be?"

Inactive

Merry (Belated) Christmas! Hope everyone is enjoying a good food coma today :)

Inactive

Once more Reja attempts to fell one of the pugwampis with a stone from her sling.

Attack (Sling; Into Melee): 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 2 - 4 = 2
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Inactive

With the table now out of the way Reja draws her sling and takes aim, attempting to crack one of the remaining pugwampis with a stone.

Attack (Sling; Into Melee): 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 2 - 4 = 7
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Inactive

It did! The DM just accidentally attributed that to Reja too, hehe.

Inactive

Forgot to respond to this but no worries DM, this time of year is crazy for just about everyone. Hang in there!

Inactive

"I'm sorry!" Reja groans as she draws her sling. Well aware that her aim was not the best, she decided to do the only other thing she could think of, reaching out to place a hand on Adroushan's shoulder. "May the elements guide you!"

Reja will draw her sling as a move action and then hit Adroushan with Guidance.

Inactive

"Eh...perhaps ve should leave this one for now and try the northern door instead," Reja suggests. "Ve can always return to this one later after ve've explored a bit more."

Since we're having some trouble getting the door open and half the party is 'ewww mold' then I suggest we work on checking out the doors A16, A17, A15, and A14. Once those are done then we head back out and rest up. That'll leave basically all of this level cleared and then we can come back and head down the stairs after we rest :)

Inactive

Yeah, it's just the nature of the beast - especially this time of year with holidays and the folks in school dealing with finals and other such things.

Inactive

As an FYI Alayi's player is also in a Kingmaker game with me; based on a recent PM exchange between that DM and Alayi's player they may or may not be able to return to their games. Figured I'd mention it now just in case DM Default wants to be thinking about whether or not to recruit another replacement if Alayi can't continue.

Inactive

Based on the previous description here then A14 seems to be the door that's stuck. Looks like we've got a few other side rooms here we can check out, too. Also sorry DM; I moved everyone over to where we're supposed to be on the map!

Inactive

"Er no...I meant these other small side rooms," Reja responds, looking a little puzzled. "If the door vill not open then it does not seem vise to force it unless ve must. Though perhaps I am misunderstanding and everyone vishes to go through the door after all," she shrugs.

Inactive

"I suppose you are right," Reja admits. "As are the rest of you. Let us finish up here and then return to camp to rest and report our findings so far. Then ve can return and continue tomorrow."

Inactive

"Eyuck! There is a strange mold growing here," Reja grimaces. "The door is stuck fast, unless ve vish to try breaking it down."

Inactive

As the group makes an initial sweep of what looks to be more living quarters, Reja raises her hand. "A quick moment before ve move on. Perhaps there are more clues as to vhat happened here...or at least as to how the people here once lived," she explains as she moves to have a look at the antechamber to the southeast.

Reja still has her Light spell active so she should have enough light to see by.

Inactive

Happy Thanksgiving for all the U.S. folks and Happy Thursday for everyone! :)

Inactive

No rush, I've been pretty busy with work over the past week myself :O

Inactive

"Seems the artwork here depicts a little bit of everything," Reja murmurs as Josria points out the efreet and djinni.

Inactive

"And once ve are done here, perhaps ve can then check the southvestern hallway," Reja advises as she follows behind the others.

Inactive

"Ve can go back and look, though it did not look as if there vere much there," Reja comments. "But I also suppose ve are not in too much hurry and so taking our time vill likely not matter much."

Inactive

I personally don't mind that just because in my experience dungeon-crawls in PbP can drag a bit unless people post very frequently.

"Hum...ve should not vander too far from the others," Reja cautions as their peek into the southwestern hallway reveals even more doorways leading to other chambers. "Mahk, is there anything of interest in the next? Or should ve be making ourselves scarce before the owner returns?"

Inactive

No worries Mahk, hang in there! And I'm glad that your wife will be okay!

(What department, out of curiosity? Primarily a night shift lab rat here.)

Inactive

"Vell, I don't know vho this man vas but these carvings tell quite a story, eh?" Reja muses as the group takes in the sight. When they get to the end of the depictions of each temple era, she frowns. "So something happened after this last one vas carved...probably vhatever befell Kelmarane also befell this place too. I vonder vhat could have happened to make everyone abandon the town?"

After letting her mind wander among the possibilities, she sighs. "Still as clear as mud. Perhaps ve vill have an answer by the time ve are finished looking around." She gestures toward the southwestern exit from the courtyard. "Shall ve vork our vay vestvard and around?"

If I'm seeing the map right, it looks like there's a tiny exit to the southwest, which is where Reja is suggesting we head next.

Inactive

"It vould not surprise me if it were," Reja nods as she stares at the sculpture with wonder. "But I have no idea vho these men are supposed to be. Seems odd imagery for a temple of the Dawnflower but I admit I am not the most knowledgeable about these things," she says with a small shake of her head.

Nodding towards the two rooms to the north, she asks, "Perhaps ve should see vhat lies there before moving into the courtyard?"

Inactive

"And of course I can help vith my light as vell," Reja smiles from the rear of the group as she calls forth her own light cantrip onto the end of her staff. "Ajala can keep following at the rear as she, and the others, have no need of light to see. One of the many mysterious properties of such beings."

Inactive

"That seems like the best plan," Reja agrees. "The more ve can explore now, the less ve have to explore later if ve are forced to retreat and rest up."

Inactive

"Ugh! Vhat vas this room supposed to be for, a garbage dump?" Reja gags. "Or just where these creatures made their lair?"

Inactive

"Do not let them attach to you, they are like the vampires!" Reja warns as the two remaining stirges swoop towards Adroushan. Drawing her arm back, she lobs the small ball of fire towards the injured stirge.

Produce Flame (Ranged Touch; Into Melee): 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 2 - 4 = 18
Fire Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Crit?: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 2 - 4 = 9
Fire Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Inactive

Kn. Nature (Stirge?): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Not entirely sure of what these things are, Reja holds back and summons a small ball of flame into the palm of her hand. "Ugh! This smell is terrible!" she gags. "Ajala, ve have company!"

Reja will cast Produce Flame on this round.

Inactive

"Yes, ve do good vork here," Reja's voice echoes from within the small garden. "Oh! Mahk, you see it too? There is another door in this garden!" she calls to the others.

"It seems to lead elsewhere. Should ve follow it?"

Inactive

"A good plan...though ve have only just arrived," Reja points out as she looks around. "And it seems very early in the day for sleep, yes? Perhaps ve should look around a little more first."

She looks around sadly at the forgotten and neglected garden. "At least ve can see the sky here..." she murmurs as she absently pulls up a few of the bigger weeds.

Perception (In the Garden): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Inactive

"Hum...perhaps ve should see vhere the door leads?" Reja suggests. "It might even be a shortcut to elsewhere! And if not, perhaps it holds hidden supplies?"

Inactive

"Good to know," Reja smiles. "Vith humans it is more varied...some place great significance on giving gifts and others are more...casual, you could say, about it."
