I have an Android Alchemist who can spot and spring traps and was built for an Iron gods-game!
I would love the chance to continue with her. :) All info in this account.

I am definitely interested! I created Raven for an Iron gods game that died without explanation during the first book. I'll have to tweak her stats a bit, but that won't be a problem at all!

As for time zone, I live in CET.

Raven fits an arrow into the slot of her crossbow and cranks its spring back as quietly as she can. Her eyes penetrate the darkness as she also seeks danger...

I can also recommend someone. Let me see if they're up for an Iron gods game... They did mention all their other games (save one) had gone dead. ^^

"Naturally," Raven says, blinking once at Locke.

She then frowns a little. "Hmm... 'Gremlins'... I seem to recall something. Let me ponder a moment. Sef, can you describe the ones you have seen in more detail for me?"

"Well, then we may hope they have eliminated one another," Raven says. She blinks once. "Unless, of course, they are in negotiations to become allies."

"Thank you," Raven says, bowing her head to Luepel, and then to the young Skulk who brought the wood. "If you would tell me your words for 'thank you', I should like to express my gratitude to this young man."

With the pleasantries out of the way, Raven arranges a fire close enough to the stricken pair that they can enjoy the benefit, but not so close that they ought to burn. She rummages among pieces of rock on the floor until she finds two shards that meet with her approval and strikes them together over the kindling with a sharp 'Crack!' Sparks fly into the dry tinder, which catches flame.

"There," she says, rising and dusting off her hands. "Now, then. Let us perform some healing."

"Excuse me," Raven says to any Skulks that might be hanging about (she is fairly sure there will be guards), "might we have some wood or other combustible materials so we can warm our stricken comrades? The sooner they are back on their feet, the sooner we can be about our business."

"I would suggest lighting a fire, myself," Raven says. "The heat was taken out of them, so we should put some more in. That is, unless you are prepared to strip naked and share blankets with them? I recall reading that is a very good way to warm people suffering from hypothermia up again."

"A brief moment, if you please," Raven says, while thumbing through her dog-eared little book. "I do believe there was a short ceremony for multiple... Ah, yes."

Unless anyone tries to stop her, the Alchemist mutters a mercifully brief prayer over the bodies that had become the unfortunate basis for the fungi.

"From what I recall, they are more prone to setting traps and arranging 'accidents'," Raven says. "Boulders placed just so, toxic vermin induced to nest in specific locations, condiments switched for chemicals. But I concur that we must move swiftly -- after you have all recovered your vision. The blind have no business wandering about in tunnels which may or may not be infested with traps set by determined murderers."

After conversation has died down, and while the group waits for the blindness to wear off, Raven marches over to the dead body and removes a dog-eared little book with numerous bookmarks stuck between the pages from her pack. She briefly, seriously kisses the spiral sign on the cheap, paper cover and turns to a marked page.

Possibly to your astonishment, the Alchemist starts to declaim a funeral rite in the Pharasmin tradition...

"Zyphus: deity of: accidental death; graveyards; tragedy," Raven summarizes, her expression still disgusted. "Resident of: Abaddon. Conjecture: born of the first soul to die an accidental death. End goal of clergy: cause ever-greater amounts of tragic, pointless deaths by means of: setting traps for the unwary and enabling accidental deaths, for the purpose of: empowering Zyphus so he may usurp Pharasma."

Raven actually spits on the unholy symbol. "Such a thing would rob the office of Death of its dignity and purpose! Zyphus makes lives meaningless by turning death into pure randomness. Moreover, he resides in Abaddon, where the daemons feast on mortal souls! If the lord of pointless death ever becomes the steward of souls, who is to say that anyone would ever reach their proper destination again, save that their patrons gain the favour of Zyphus?"

Knowledge (religion) 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Raven joins Rywokit in his investigation, wiping the blindheim's body-fluids off her hands with a clean rag.

"What have we here?" she asks as she squats next to the body and eyes the symbol.

It is really quite unpleasant to see. Raven blinks, and her expression changes to one of utter loathing and rage. It does not do so quickly, however, but by stages, as if the Alchemist is fitting each factor of the feeling into place, deliberately building up to a negative feeling.

"Zyphus!" she hisses, fitting her bayonet to her crossbow with a loud 'Clack!'.

Raven scoops the unholy symbol up with the tip of her bayonet and marches over to Jack, dumping it at his feet. Her expression is still full of furious disgust. "Break this!" she says. "Smash it beyond recognition! Do it now! -- Please," she amends. "This is... It is associated with one of the vilest deities in the pantheon. A blasphemy against death, against the proper order of mortality... Destroy it."

"The creature is dead," Raven says. "All those blinded, please sit down and wait. The blindness will pass -- it will just take an hour. And no, I am not inclined to simply move on before your vision has returned; that would be dangerous, especially if we meet more opposition."

The Alchemist moves between the others and retrieves her arrows from where they alternatively fell or sank into the blindheim's flesh.

"I must get a specimen box!" she laments while dissecting the creature's head and back as neatly as possible. "I just do not have the room in my pack for these, and they are virtually priceless to my research...! Ah, me..."

Raven shakes her head and continues her investigation, checking for obvious mutations and such which might explain the blindheim's powers.

Raven reloads, sights between Allen and Locke, and fires.
"This matter is rapidly becoming farcical," she mutters as the arrow sails well past the blindheim. "Why can't the dratted thing just run away in the face of superior forces...?"

"How frightfully premature," Raven mutters, shaking her head. She pulls a slender vial from one of her pockets, a vial with a stopper of soft clay. filled with a yellowish-green liquid. The alchemist pushes a slender, metal rod through the clay into the liquid, which starts to fizz alarmingly, and she lobs it over the others and over the blindheim. As soon as the foaming, vibrating vial strikes earth, it explodes with a dull roar of concussive force!

Raven throws a bomb one square beyond the blindheim so the splash damage won't affect the others. Ranged attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20, DC15 Reflex save to halve 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 damage.

"Do NOT get within thirty feet of this creature!" Raven warns. "This is known as a 'blindheim', it can blind you with its gaze! It is a magical beast, not very intelligent. If we must engage it, use ranged weapons!"

Putting action to words, Raven fits a bolt to her crossbow and takes aim at the creature, sighting past Locke. The crossbow twangs...

"I concur with Locke," Raven says, nodding. "Moreover, we may find additional information as to the nature and status of those who came here before us, including the father of our charming hostess." She blinks once.

"I should like to make a request of those capable of casting cantrips. From here on in, please start scanning for magical auras and do not let up."[b]

The Alchemist looks at the various fungi, frowns slightly, and holds up a hand. [b]"One moment while I search my memory. I wonder whether I have not read of these particular specimens before..."

Raven walks over to the dead beetles, humming under her breath. She squats, retrieving her arrow -- and then starts to perform a quick, impromptu autopsy on the cat-sized insect with the arrow's tip.

"Fascinating, fascinating," she murmurs as she examines the contents of the insect's skull and stomach cavity -- and, with a wet crunching sound, she rips off an intact piece of carapace that carries a glowing spot, stowing it as safely as she can in her pack.

"Sorry for the wait," she says as she wipes her hands off on the ground and rises, returning to the group. "I do wish I had a specimen box with me. Oh, well. Better luck next time, yes? I can't wait to analyze the chemical deposits in that carapace!"

"Ah," Raven says, blinking once. "Most intriguing. Gratifying, even, to observe interesting local wildlife at this early stage, as it suggests this area is not too polluted to support life. If possible, please leave one specimen mostly intact so I may conduct some research? It might be interesting to determine whether these are natural specimens or mutations of some sort, you see. The specimen would have to be dead, of course, as these appear to be carnivorous specimens, which are known for being unreasonable in the face of scientific investigation.
Note the phosphorescent patches, which indicate these creatures probably live their whole lives in lightless environs, obliging them to generate their own illumination as an aid to travel and probably to attract prey to them. These creatures may have been drawn in by our own lights! The question whether they acted on hunger or the desire to mate suggests itself for consideration...
Recommend we limit ourselves to more mundane weaponry at this engagement, as challenges deeper inside the labyrinth may require magical or otherwise exotic solutions."

Even while she prattles on, Raven takes aim at one of the beetles, fires, and fits a new arrow in the groove.

My connection is really bad lately, so I can't see the map. I basically shoot the closest beetle and reloads.

About Eliza Mournglory

Personal info:

Name: Eliza Mournglory
Alignment: Neutral Good
Appearance: While Eliza appears largely human, she does have goat's legs and a tail with a spade tip. In addition, she hides snow-white hair, grey skin and red eyes under a veil.
Background: Born to the lesser House of Mournglory in Druma. Her parents were surprised to say the least when they saw her... oddities, and for the first decade of her life she existed in opulent luxury - and strict isolation from the outside world. Her parents considered her uniqueness might be due to Mrs. Mournglory's Chelish ancestry, but they were never certain. When Eliza's curiosity about the world outside her part of the family compound grew too great for her to be restricted without using actual chains and shackles, her parents relented and provided her with an education in all manner of subjects. They preferred to use private tutors who were kept ignorant or paid enough to stay quiet about the strange child they were asked to educate. Eliza was an eager student, clearly very bright and eager to please, but inevitaly the day came that she demanded the freedom to leave home and pursue a higher education. This she was given - on the condition that she never tell anyone her family name and made sure never to bring anyone home with her. Eliza complied, and while she excelled at her studies in arcane philosophy, archeology and various other subjects when at university, she also became fairly skilled at the various acrobatics and stealth she needed to travel to and from home unobserved. Finally, she graduated and asked her parents' permission to leave home for the last time. Although both her parents and her (normal) siblings professed concern for her and regret that she would be leaving, no one stopped her from going...
Personality: Eliza has a chip on her shoulder for anyone who thinks less of her for her species and a fiery temper to boot. She tries to repress this side of her personality by focusing on her academic curiosity, which is indeed profound. She is eager to unravel all mysteries and bring the truth to light wherever and whenever she can. This second facet of her personality, she tempers with compassion for the weak and vulnerable. Seeing someone in undeserved straits is the most powerful impediment to her curiosity - and her anger.
