Well, you do have a paladin next to you. Hopefully he gets the hint and heals you. As an aside, the fact this giant sucked up 80 hp of dfamage and is still going terrifies me.
Rasina's violet eyes glow with an eerie radiance as she taps into her celestial heritage, calling on her divine blood to sear the giant! She steps closer to the raging giant and points at the looming beast and a fiery blast erupts striking him. Move action: Move to K11.
Rasina is startled from her thoughts by the appearance of the crazed giant. The Gods seek to prove my point about sanity in short supply! That thought flashes in her mind, as she draws her rapier and dagger in one fluid motion. She waves for Shen to follow her, "Get behind the gallows!" After she moves to the cover, she concentrates and a soft glowing light surrounds her, shifting and swirling about her. Initiative 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Shen Volker wrote: "I apreciate your support. It means a lot to me. I've not felt this close to anyone since ...well, since my sister was taken from me. Thanks." Rasina nods wordlessly, obviously moved the the show of support from her companions. She thinks, I know Shen was very close to her sister, yet she has not told of her fate. I know it is a tragic one to be sure. I can feel the hurt Shen tries to hide, it is as clear as the green eyes on her face. "It is your support which means everything to me, Shen. I...I want to thank you for helping me."
Rasina smiles weakly at Shen's proclamation. It seemed like they always have this converation every hour, or so it seems. She had to admit to herself she was not nearly as driven...no wait...that was not true... it was nore like her urges were coming from another source, an outside source. She remembers finding out of her Celestial blood manifesting in her, and the many hours cursing the change. she never asked for this to happen to her, but railing against Fate was a useless gesture she learned long ago. She knew there was a part of her that resented the change, and also knows this is why her faith is not as strong as Shen's is. Ironic, in a sense. "Don't worry about me, Shen. I swore to walk with you on this journey to the end, and that has not changed." Still, the words sounded hallow to her ears. She wondered whether they would ever mean as much to her as they did to Shen, and she knew she was afraid to discover the answer.
Dot! Rasina glances at the road behind them and then turns her gaze towards the Camp. She thinks, Such a strange journey this has been, and still many miles to go before it is finished. Glancing at her companions, she notes Shen and wonders about the whimsy of the Gods which brought their paths together like this. She wanted to believe Shen would be a loyal companion, but dealing with power had the tendency to corrupt those who partook of such gifts. Still, she had been someone to talk to... "Shen, what do you think of this place? Not very forgiving, if you ask me."

Shen: I like how the BG meshes well. Due to Rasina's loss of her old companions, including her old lover, she is lonely and really looking for a friend more than anything. She is quite outgoing usually, but her recent adventures, not to mention the awakening of her celestial blood has made it difficult for her to relate to people. I could see a friendship blossoming between them, given time.
Shen Volker wrote: As to Rasinas suggestion. I would be more than willing to work on a background where they know each other. I too hate player conflict. Perhaps Shen came to know Rasina during their time in Bards Gate as they both seem to have spent time there researching Tsar and its history? Perhaps they share a common bond as they are both survivors of the Tomb of Abysthor? I am in favor of this idea. Back in the original incarnation of the Slumbering Tsar ran by Chris Mortika, she had survived to the final battle, but suffered several level drains. I can perfectly see Shen and Rasina striking an acquaintance, that could grow into a friendship. If Shen was forthcoming with her BG, Rasina would definitely be sympathetic to her, as she also knows what it is like to lose close friends in battle.
Shen Volker: I was thinking since Rasina is a CG sorcerer with a Celestial bloodline, the chance for party conflict between the two is fairly high. To forestall, we may want to work on a way they both know each other in their respective BGs.
As a player, I don't believe in player vs. player conflict, but I can tell you Rasina would probably take a dim view of Shen's acttions, especially if she does anything overtly evil. Your thoughts?
Thank you very much for selecting me TD. I have some advice for those who have not been chosen. Since this is a DEADLY adventure, there is a possibility of character deaths, so there may be a call for replacement characters. I would keep an eye on the game thread and be ready to step in in case the call goes out for a replacement character.

I really don't know. So, where are you headed?" "Well, we have just arrived here." Rasina looks around her at the desolateness and shudders inwardly. She could tell she did not like this place. "For right now, we just need a place to rest. Could you recommend a place for us?"

Rasina turns to look at the newcomer, and responds with a note of aspersion, "Yes, I know it is a giant, but generally giants don't walk into well fortified towns, and start to slay things wantonly. They would be banded together, at least half a dozen, if this was a typical raid." "My name is Rasina, by the way." She turns her attention to Mikka, who is busy examining the giant corpse. "Have you found anything yet?"
Rasina walks slowly towards the soldiers, still scanning for whoever had fired that arrow. Not seeing anyone present themselves for the moment, she focuses on them. Giving them all a smile, she says "Actually, I think it is us who should be thanking you. Without your teamwork skills, I fear that brute would have torn through this place." She looks over at the giant corpse, and adds, "My name is Rasina, a pleasure to meet you all." She glances at Mikka, and murmers quietly to her, "It may not be a bad idea to check the corpse for any diseases. He seemed to be...afflicted by something."
Rasina sees the maddened giant strike at the phalanx of fighters, and sees her chance. Moving in a circuitous route to avoid the long reach of the giant’s deadly club, she waits for the perfect opportunity to strike at the giant’s flank… Acrobatics to avoid AoO 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33
Rasina squints her eyes against the harsh glare of the afternoon sun and pulls her cloak tightly around her body, a futile gesture to shield herself from the sights and smells of the hellhole she has found herself. She pauses and reflects for a moment. Her celestial blood has called her to this place, to do...something. Now that she is here, she is unsure what the next step of her journey is. Well, I am sure the gods will reveal their intentions to me...hopefully sooner than lat...By the Gods, what is that? She notices the maddened hill giant enter the Camp, and her hands reflexively grip their weapons. Hill Giants were violent and brutish thugs, but this one was...afflicted by something. She sees a trio of armored men, knights by the looks of them, also responding to the threat, and she moves over towards them. "Ho, good knights, Do you fellows need some assistance?"

Cannot argue with that. by the way Mikka, did you want to continue our acquaintences from the previous campaign?
Dotting... Here is my former Slumbering Tsar character, back when Mortika was running the show. Kratzee, they upgraded the Slumbering Tsar to PF rules HERE
Alia Wolfsdottir wrote: "At the camp will be easier. To come here he will have to cross part of the desolation alone. This is too dangerous if he does not know his way." "Very well, then. I need some ink and paper to compose a message." Once she has goten the writing supplies from Durnast, she composes a message on a piece of parchment, Parchment Spoiler:
Richard, rock of my soul, and longtime soul brother. Your companions aid is eagerly awaited. We can be found at the Camp, at the inn where Tinthariel is located. We will arrive by the morrows arrival. We all lok forward to his arrival. She affixes the message to the lizard, and says, "Return this message to your master."
Rasina approaches the lizard, and reads the note. She looks down for a moment, and a couple of tears flow down her cheek. She approaches Artimus and Alia, and shows then the contents of the note. Artimus and Alia can read the spoiler. Once they have done so, Rasina asks them, "Would this be ok with you, to have him join our band? I can vouch for Richard on this manner, he would not seek to betray us in this manner." She indicates the lizard, waiting patiently, "I am sure he expects a response, where should we have him meet us? Here or the Camp?"
Rasina looks up at Alia, and feels a sense of gratitude flowing to her. Echoing her own thoughts and realizing how much she missed Richard, she replies to the human ranger, "Your plan has merit, I will stand with you on this, Alia. I pray Richard has not succumbed to any of the abominations lairing in the Desolation. We should hurry."
Rasina gives Veren a smile, touched by his openness and concern. "I really don't know, Veren. A lot depends on her, and how she carries herself with us. I can tell you, I will give her the benefit of the doubt, but if she is not truthful with us, then...well we will cross that bridge when we get there."
Rasina nods at Artimus and replies, "Aye, your words of wisdom are much appreciated, Artimus. I wish our paths had crossed sooner, but now I consider myself fortunate to know you.". She touches Artimus on his cheek, a loving caress, then gently squeezes his hand. "Thank you once again for being there for us." She walks over to where Veren sits, and says to him, "I am sure Vilgara will be happy to see you again."
Rasina looks up at Artimus and wipes the tears away again, murmering, "I have always carried the guilt around for those companions who have lost their lives, true friends and stalwart companions all. When Mikka, Richard, Nadeq and I braved the Tomb of Abystor. we lost many friends during that struggle. However we knew the cost was worth it by destroying the Black Monolith. This Vilgara, I fear as if we paid too high a price for her rescue, a woman I know little of, only what Veren has spoken. I pray I am wrong."
Rasina unpacks her bedroll and prepares her area for resting up before the next days travels. The others have left her alone now with her thoughts. She looks over at the veradant oasis , now freshened with the blood of the human reclaimer b**ch, and her companions. She certainly received her just rewards. Ahh, but at what price though. She fingers the rapier she discovered earlier, with the description on it wielded by Farren, and glances over at Veren. She feels a strange attraction for him, and cannot understand why. He certainly was physically attractive, but ever since she took up the mantle of the Light, she refused to allow herself such amorous thoughts. Veren, your companion had better prove herself to me, else this blade will be used against her. She wonders how her friend Richard is doing, they should move to check on his progress in studying the tomb. She reminds herself to ask Artimus about this later. She feels a rush of guilt now, and moves to talk to Artimus. Perhaps in another lifetime, she would have scorned his committments, but now she treasures them. She approaches quietly and waits for his acknowledgement. When he looks up, she says quietly, I wanted to thank you again for saving us from the reclaimers. I know you cared for Montague as a friend, and I barely knew him. His death weighs on my soul, along with my call to heed the wishes of Veren. It was unwise for me to do such, and I feel we are not done sowing the harvest of my decision. I...am sorry...Artimus. she starts to fel the tears flow again, and does not ty to stop them.
