I think that's Goggie. Ramli casts a final time for the day, resummoning his mage armor I'm assuming it's expired from the previous casting and moves forward, into the mist. "We need to circle around, try to come up on her from behind -- unless you can keep this mist with us, Rock?" Planning to move up to L2 or 3, and then make my way to her position, where I'll fry the b#!!@. Though I don't know how much more I'll be able to post before vacation.

"Holy!" Ramli yells. "That b~~%* just killed Harrol!" Ducking behind the crate, the sorcerer casts once again, sending a flaming dragon zig-zagging through the crowded market into the tent with the assassin. 4 hp and dazzled; DC 14 Reflex for half damage and no dazzle "Quick, after her!" 1d4 ⇒ 4 How long has it been since we started transporting the cart? Trying to figure out if my mage armor is still up.

Ramli watches as the two women leaves. Twins, huh ... Wait. Twins! He clears his throat. "Ahem. Ladies. Now that this unpleasantness is behind us, is there a way I can find you if I should need to later?" He shakes his head as they leave his sight and turns back to his fellow Packminders. Pathfinders! Don't listen to the rock... At the warehouse, he looks around. "Well," he whispers, "let's hope the roof being in such poor condition means she won't be sniping at us from above!"
M Human Sorcerer (efreeti bloodline) 1
Ramli continues to run to where he thinks the thief is, casting about in the hopes he manages to find her by pure chance. "Blast it, woman, where are you? We've got your lookalike, so if you want her back, you'd best surrender now!" he roars. Move action to Q-25, then I guess move/standard action to circle that area, hoping to feel something invisible.

"She's disappeared!" Ramli shouts! "I think there're two of them, probably using illusion to look the same!" Growling at the attackers but not truly wanting to hurt the women, he casts again, sending a flaming bird toward the visible woman, and grinning as it explodes in his face. 3 hp fire damage, plus dazzled; DC 14 Reflex save for half damage and no dazzled Cast snapdragon fireworks 1d4 ⇒ 3

Ramli looks around, to make sure there are no archers ready to fire but begins to approach the men as they seem to be arguing for real. "Come, friends," he says with his usual grin. "Surely there is no reason to argue. Give us a minute and we'll have you on your way again in no time."

Ramli shrugs. "You can't fault them for wanting a drink, Damvorak. Who wouldn't?" "Sadly, my friends, the keg is actually empty. The halfling there -- believe it or not -- drank it all. He follows Iomedae and is shorter than Nethy's staff, but he can drink like Cayden himself! You'll have better luck elsewhere, I'm afraid." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

"I think we're trying to protect the cask, my friend," Ramli tells Sad Rock as he walks behind the cart, trusting in his magic armor to protect him from any threats. Unfortunately, he's distracted by Sad Rock's focus on the ass, forgetting to keep a close eye on the roofs around him for the likely inevitable attack. Cast mage armor before heading out with the casket.

"Well, sir, someone seems to be impersonating graycloaks, from what we can tell. We believe there's a woman behind the thefts, and that the 'goods' are usually kept somewhere on the north side of the Ascendant Court, in a warehouse near the Pitview Pub. The mastermind apparently hates priests."
M Human Sorcerer (efreeti bloodline) 1
"Ha!" Ramli barks out a burst of laughter. "Fierce as a popinjay, you are, young Harrol. Then he turns serious. "That's not to say the rest of us can't back up those threats, though. You said if she sees you, you're in trouble. Only problem is we see you right now." The laughter still in his voice sadly gives the lie to his threat, however. Intimidate 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Sorry about the confusion and absence; stupid confusion, and then stupid service provider... Ramli dodges past the slippery bathers, after a momentary pause as he can't resist the impulse to check out some of the distaff clientele in their disrobed state. Cursing as he arrives at the gate with no way to unlock it I believe I would have a +10 DC to disable the lock since I have no lock picks, right?, he quickly tries scaling, only to find it a bit more daunting than expected. "There! Quick!" Ramli yells as he springs to his feet. Rushing toward the bath house, he calls out to the guard. "Make way, make way! Frustrated when the man doesn't move, he tries again. [b]"It's my wife, friend! She caught me with another woman; you've got to let me in!" When the man looks to see this supposed woman, Ramli rushes past him into the bath house. "Greenie and Young Harrol are right. This pub sounds like our best bet. I'd say we should be careful, though. Whatever's on that arrow is probably dangerous." Any skill check to try to determine what the viscous liquid on the arrow is? Also how close to noon is it?
M Human Sorcerer (efreeti bloodline) 1
"Well, I'm sure you'll meet someone if you learn to blow, eh?" Ramli says, barely suppressing a laugh. He quickly turns serious again, though. "Poison. Seems odd if you only wanted to steal something to go to such efforts to kill the courier," he muses. Thinking a moment, he asks the halfling, "Can you describe the Greycloak?"

"My thanks, friend" Ramli says to the passerby as he gives Harrol the information. Turning to his companions, he gives a broad smile. "Let's see if we can't try to see a little less threatening, though hopefully this witness won't be as frustrating to deal with as that merchant."
M Human Sorcerer (efreeti bloodline) 1
"We understand the Greycloaks took your wares, unjustly I'm sure, friend." Ramli says with a sympathetic smile. "Still, any such sort of find is of interest to us. Have you anything else of similar historical significance that we might be able to purchase?" Despite his attempt at to hide it, it's clear the bombastic sorcerer is already growing tired of the lying merchant and would much rather let Damvorak at him. "Be not embarrassed, Young Harrol. It's good to partake in what life gives us and enjoy it to its fullest!" Ramli says as he walks with the halfling to the meeting. After listening to the dotty old elf, he grabs the note. "It appears we have our first clues, my friends. Let's be off to talk to these fine folks. The sooner we begin, the sooner we can be finished!"

Agreed about the spell hoarding. I'm still torn between going wizard/magus/sorcerer, but what the heck. It's fun trying something different from what I usually do, so I'll probably stick with Ramli. So I guess my follow-up question about trying to have a 1/3/5/7 split (which does seem smart) is do we want to do a bunch of low level adventures right off the bad so we can start working characters characters up or try to concentrate a little more on one so we can get to some higher-level scenarios.
M Human Sorcerer (efreeti bloodline) 1
Hehe, magic stoner. Snicker. So what tends to be the best way to do it with PFS? Just work a character through the levels? Work a handful of characters up through the levels, letting some of them stop at lower points (say work five, then stop one at third, one at fifth, one at seventh, etc. etc.)? I've got two other PFS characters that I started at a gaming con I go to every 10 years or so and can of course come up with some others or continue with Ramli, but I'm not sure what the best way to do it is. (I like Ramli, but I've realized I tend to MUCH prefer characters without limited daily amounts of spells/abilities as my natural inclination is to hoard them so much that I never use them, so I'm not sure how much farther I would continue with him -- then again, PFS seems like it's well suited to those type of character since you know there're only going to be so many encounters per scenario.) |
