Ramaz only knows of his Mother Rama, and that is only from the stories of others. His father was an Orc that had raped his Mother during a raid in the Varisian wilds. Rama was young at the time of the raid, but old enough to get pregnant. Most of her small village was destroyed, and many were killed that frightful night. Later, Rama died giving birth to Ramaz. Ramaz was raised by an old Human Cleric named Zorak. He named the child Ramaz as a combination of Rama and the "Z" in Zorak. The old Cleric of Gorum taught the young Half-Orc his ways, including the use of the Greatsword. He often told the young boy about Shalelu the Elf, and how she had helped to drive away the Orcs on the night of his conception. Ramaz became fascinated by Shalelu and admired her, though from afar and in secret.
Eventually, the Zorak and Ramaz went to live near Sandpoint. Old Zorak would daily fish along the coast and up the Turandarok River, often selling his extra catch at the Sandpoint Market.
Ramaz was an outcast. Only Gorvi in Sandpoint, another Half-orc showed him kindness. Though it was of the brutal, pushing and shoving, Orcish type of kindness. A type of admiration that only those with Orcblood would truly understand.
As Ramaz got older, he began to long for adventure. Sandpoint was just too quiet; too human for this Half-Orc.
