@Professor Lorrimor- No i don't want the tie in NPC apart of the campaign i want to run. Please don't post more spoilers in this feed. Please respect the fact that most of the people looking to play don't now more than i tell them in advance.

Pretty sure I haven't posted anything that isn't in the player's guide, but alright. It's your game.

So here's an idea I had a while back for a Carrion Crown game that never got off the ground.

I'd like to play the ghost of Professor Lorrimor.

I know, it sounds weird and overpowered, but actually it isn't. Take a look at the sheet if you're curious. Here's the pitch-

As an Incorporeal creature, a ghost has very, very limited ways of interacting with the corporeal world. Without things like his spell book, the poor ghost of Lorrimor would be essentially reduced to being an observer in the investigation into his own murder. Once he runs out of the few spells still left in his mind, he will be left with nothing but cantrips to effect the world with. He will be very difficult to kill, and will be a great scout, but he also will not be able to actually help in combat much. I would be willing to lose the Touch of Corruption ability to even more limit his ability to fight. I'm considering taking a familiar so he would have some way of interacting with the world, but I'm also considering having his Bonded Item be the object that he haunts. Someone else would have to carry it around for him until he can have it enchanted with Ghost Touch, and if he can't go more than a few feet away from the object, that limits him even further (which is important for early game balance).

His story would be the process by which he figures out how to come with life after death. Of course, being the intellectual that he is, he finds the entire process fascinating. Now if only someone could make him a ghost touch pen…

Because of his ghostly nature, and the nasty head injury that killed him, Petros' mind is pretty fractured. He sometimes forgets important things, like the fact that he is dead, and where he is, and that most people who see him will be terrified. He sometimes becomes frustrated by the fact that he cannot pick things up, or open doors.

His thirst for knowledge and sense of justice is as strong as it was when he was alive. He knows he was murdered, but he doesn't remember what happened. Hopefully some of his old friends can help him.

It's going to be odd going to his own funeral.

if no one posts it will automatically go inactive in three months

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

Can you move this game to inactive please?

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

Well that's a bummer. Hope life gets easier. Maybe we'll have another chance someday.

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

I don't think I've ever been in a game that died before I even got to post before.

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

Give it a bit. Sometimes life happens.

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

no problem. I like seeing the personalities develop. Take as much time as needed.

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

I read your backstory. Hilarious. :)

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

So, about twice as long as Mira looks old enough to be. Perfect. :)

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

That makes sense. Lorrimor probably wouldn't even know she's a little girl. To him, she's just writing on a piece of paper.

How long have we been pen pals? In theory it could have been for a pretty long time. Lorromor died at 54. He has about 30 years of professional adulthood behind him that she could have been writing him during.

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

I was thinking that too. Three is already stretching credibility. :)

Ragg, I don't see your backstory on your character sheet. Where can I find it?

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

Did Mira write him first? What about?

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

I have a request from everyone-

I need to know how I know you. I thought about reading your backstories, but I guessed there would probably be a lot in there that didn't pertain to me and that I might not know.

Instead, can everyone write me up a short description of how we met, how and why I helped you, and why I'd be important enough to you that you'd risk a mob of torches and pitchforks to come to my funeral and investigate my death?

The Fiendish Heritage feat allows for some variant options for tieflings (see below.)

The variant tieflings, and the random ability that they get, requires you to spend a feat to have access to them.

Here's the feat.

on the up side, you get to roll three times and choose the ability you want.

For spontaneous casters tracking spells up in the status bar works pretty well.

For memorization casters, I find it's usually best to keep track of your current spells right at the top of your sheet in a spoiler and delete them as you cast them, or something like that.

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

fixed!

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

Count-

I have a neat idea for how to introduce my character. Can I show up during my own funeral?

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

That is really odd. The gameplay thread won't take posts. Since we're just getting started, you may consider just making a new game and posting the link here.

HP 12/12, AC 13, Fort +3, Ref +0, Will +3, Bond 1/1

Reporting in.

GM, can we get the gameplay thread open to dot? That will attach the game to our campaigns tab so we get updates.

*puts on Professor's hat*

I recently discovered that you can post to a thread, then delete the post, and the site still tracks it, so you can dot a gameply thread without leaving a visible post.

Ok, I think the Professor is ready to go.

I haven't included a background because he's an established personality with at least partial memory loss, so I'm in a rare sitation where my character is extremely well known to everyone in the group, and not very well known to himself.

His rather high charisma is the result of a base stat of 16, +2 human, +2 age, +4 ghost.

Petros has exactly two combat abilities. The first is a 1d6 damage touch attack, the other is the Snowball spell (reflavored to a blast of freezing ectoplasm). Don't expect him to add much in a fight.

Started building The Professor. Realized that as a wizard, most of his spells couldn't be cast (can't really carry or manipulate components) and it would be hard to carry and study spellbooks. Combine that with the memory problems I've decided to work into his personality, and I think Wizard is a bad fit.

I think I'm going to begin the game with Petros realizing that he's going to have to re-learn magic another way, taking the route of the Sorcerer.
