![]() Instead of thinking of us all as members of Pax, think of us as signatories to a nation, in this case Xeilias. We've banded together for mutual aid, protection, and economic support, much like NATO or the EU. This doesn't mean we have to get along or even like one-another. What it does mean is that we cannot be openly aggressive to other signatories without breaking the agreement we signed when joining the nation. At that point, the other members of the nation would be free to join in on hostilities and retaliate against us for breaking the non-aggression treaty of the alliance. OK, that's the meta reasons. Here's the RP reasons: These people, from our internal story-line point-of-view, are family. Family gone in the wrong direction and doing bad things, but they're still family. Fidelis members don't want to kill them. We don't to fight. We want to bring them back into the light as the original Stalwart Shields, our fore-bearers, would have done. So, in order to fight their excesses, we do so within the law, bringing lawbreakers to justice. Their straying from the path the founders of Callambea set out for us makes us, as a group, very sad. So we work to redeem them. ![]()

A lot will depend on how PfO handles religion. New Kirke in fact was chosen because of the roots of the word "kirke" and it's own religious ties. We'd love to see the ability to form religious groups to promote Paladins, Clerics, and Monks, but that's still very much in the air. ![]()
![]() Kingdom Name: The Empire of Xeilias
Alignment: Lawful Good. Whether through community outreach programs, keeping the peace in our territory, or assisting allies, Fidelis strives to build community through compassion, cooperation, and mutual effort toward goals that promote understanding and the common good for our members, allies, and neighbors. Fidelis embodies the commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly, helping those in need, and speaking out against injustice. Role: Fidelis will focus on providing for the common good by building the community through public outreach initiatives, including assisting new players and operating social hubs such as shrines and inns, protection of the Empire from monstrous escalations, and providing homeland defense. Accepted Roles: We welcome all who wish to fight for the good of others, whether through adventure, crafting, hosted events, roleplay, defense-oriented PVP, and much more. The people of Fidelis strive to set a good example and be paragons of righteousness in the chaotic wilderness of the River Kingdoms. Criminals are not acceptable members of society and should be actively hunted wherever they may go to roost. Any role or gameplay within the range of Lawful Neutral, Lawful Good, or Neutral Good will be welcome. Internal Leadership Structure:

At the end of June 2012, Pax introduced ourselves to the forum community. While we are always looking for community members, we had no division for this game at that time. Instead we voiced our interest in the game, began meeting other "guilds" (for lack of a better term), and began interacting. During this time we were also building the foundation for a true presence in PfO. That in effect is the reason for a new thread, because that foundation is set. In the Kickstarter, we had 3 guild groups just under Pax Gaming pledged. Our members looked and saw the rough diamond in the mud, and decided that it was going to be a place for Pax for a long time. We have laid down the foundation for a long lasting and powerful group, under the Pax banner. So What are Pax's Goals?
A number of Chartered Companies, separated by economic, military, and exploratory interests
Our Chartered Companies
When Pax Imperius operated in SWG, they had a popular motto of "Many Guilds in One". This habit of creating smaller divisions inside of a larger body is a tradition many of our guilds still employ today. The advent of many smaller organizations working together just makes what we have employed in the past more literal. Putting Down Roots
Growing and Expanding
Festivals, Story, and Community
How Will You Accomplish All This?
The largest factor is the recruitment of quality, like minded people. Our community and this division are not stagnant. Our success is anchored in growth, and we are always excited to meet new recruits. If you have liked what you have read so far, I urge you to read on. Our next post is about the Pax Gaming Community and will have all our recruitment information. This game is a new adventure , and we are looking forward to meeting more to make the journey with us. What is the Pax Gaming Community?
Pax hosts our own server for teamspeak as well as our forums. We have an organized charter that outlines a very simple yet definitive set of rules to maintain the level of community we wish to provide. While we strongly encourage participation in roleplay, no single element of a game is enforced. Our concern is for our members to enjoy gaming together. That being said every division of Pax Gaming has origin stories, roleplay officers, and event planners. We also promote and support officers in charge of pve and pvp content as well. In the end our name best describes who and what we are. Pax is a community, above everything else. It is a common phrase for us to state that we recruit the player, not the "toon". Why join Pax Gaming? Community
Longevity
This will NOT be a guild that folds. Our SWG Chapter of Pax Imperius stayed active and going strong since the servers first opened. We remained active through the game's turbulent history. Pax remained there until the game itself was shut down. For over a decade, Pax has remained strong and active. Opportunities

What is this Charter You Speak Of?
To supplement and support our work in the Pathfinder Online community and game, a Divisional Charter for the Kingdom of Aeternum have been created. Much like the Pax Gaming Charter, this document outlines the Kingdom of Aeternum's operating procedure and rules, but on a scale specific to Pathfinder Online. You can view it HERE on our wiki. How do I join? We are currently taking applications for Pathfinder Online. Once a Pax Member has been accepted, they are free to join any game we are playing without further applications. First you will need to go www.paxgaming.com to register with the Pax Community. Our application process is a two week application period, during this two week period you will interact with Pax Gaming members and make sure you are a good fit for our guild. This two week period is also here to help you determine if our guild is a good fit for you. Full instructions on joining Pax Gaming can be located here. ![]()

I think not having feet wouldn't put much of a damper on his passion. :) ![]()
![]() If I were to choose to roleplay a cleric, it would be very nice to actually be able to do some clerical type stuff that would aid my community or hinder my enemy's. For instance: - Proselytizing or preaching might have an effect upon local NPCs, altering their alignment to more closely match my god's, or getting them to join my "congregation" in order to bring more money to my church and settlement (voluntary tithes?). - A "preaching" activity might also have a morale effect upon the settlement. If a cleric matches the settlement's alignment, perhaps there could be bonuses to the DI or workers' productivity. If the alignment differs vastly, perhaps allowing dissenting sermons produces the opposite effect. ![]()
![]() There are some flavor ideas that would be nice to have: - Adding a coat of arms or other heraldry to shields or tabards, as with holy symbols or guild crests
I'm sure I'll think of others :) ![]()
![]() As others have said, I would hope to see the bare minimums of being able to sit and a /me emote in EE. Small touches add so much, like adding decorations to buildings or altering their skins to better reflect their community when building the settlement. The ability to hold non-combat items like a book or a pipe (or even smoking it as in LOTRO!). Cosmetic clothing (or just the ability to override certain items by using an "invisible" skin). I would love to see a "notes" system that could be brought up to allow us to fill in what we know about a character. There are so many things, but it's the little touches that really bring RP to life. ![]()

Especially considering the number of people who get burned out on the constant bickering on the forum. Out of eight and a half thousand kickstarters, the total number of names posted here is fairly insignificant even before breaking us down further into groups. You got that right! I know the bickering has kept me away from these forums more often than I'd like to admit. I much prefer it when we have a civilized discussion. ![]()

I notice you say this while wearing a green hat... ;) Who can says what the master plan of the Hobs is? I think we'll see a greater mix of alignments than the developers seem to deem credible. There are definitely pragmatists in our midst who see alignment as fluid and a reflection of their actions, but there are those who wish to play the opposite, allowing their goals to dictate their actions. Good will have its day in the River Kingdoms, and I think we'll see a fair number attempting to walk a more righteous path toward that end. ![]()

Ah, I see! You mean portals to different portions of Golarion, not connections between hexes inside the River Kingdoms. My mistake! Yes, this would indeed be a nice feature. ![]()

This would make life for merchants or those not interested in PVP very difficult, similar to low security areas in EVE. I would not welcome this simply because I think it would make life far too easy for bandits. I would prefer open borders with no gates to link them. We see this in other games with seamless transitions, so I see no reason PfO wouldn't be able to support this as well. |
