![]() I didn't know how I would respond until I saw the result of my roll – sorry for the delay. “The tracks parallel the road in the direction of Magnimar. He didn't circle back to the South Gate, so it appears he isn't an immediate threat to Sandpoint (assuming these tracks are his.)” “The question now, is do we follow the lone rider, or the goblin band? Perhaps we should return to the Rusty Dragon, and speak with the others.” Suiting actions to words, Paehz heads back toward Sandpoint. ![]()

![]() Good point - how's the weather? Paehz wants to follow the horse's tracks until he gets to the south end of the town. If they keep leading away from the town, he'll mark the trail, and inform the Sherriff - I think going after the wagon in the morning sounds like a good plan. ![]()

![]() Paehz shares his findings with the party. Your sharp eyes pick out a pair of divots in the ground where a horse's hoof cut the ground, as well as a rub on a tree branch where the horse was apparently tied. The tracks do not follow the road, though, but instead cut a southern path back around Sandpoint. As you follow the horse tracks south around the wall, they cross what appear to be the tracks left by a small wagon being pulled by some kind of huge rat-thing. Scattered around these tracks are random footprints… some goblin sized and one human-sized. They appear to originate from somewhere along the wall (near the cemetery), and head off towards the Lost Coast Road. There is no indication as to whether they actually met here or this is a circumstantial crossroads. There is no telling if the timing is right for a meeting, either. ![]()

![]() “I'd like to take another look around the North Gate – see if I can find Pavo's trail. Would anyone care to join me?” Paehz & anyone who wants to join him head to the north gate with torches. North Gate: Paehz searches the gate portal for Pavo's tracks - trying to find out his direction, and if he had company.

I don't know if Goblins are slavers, but I can't imagine they would carry prisoners twice their size instead of forcing them to walk. Paehz did you find any human footprints in addition to evidence of goblins... something more than our single longshanks?" "No, I just found one larger set of tracks (Medium-sized creature)" ![]()

![]() “I believe that the attack was a ruse. I think I found the tracks of this Longshanks, along with a group of goblins, at the cemetery. They stole the corpse of Ezekian Tobyn, the late Shepherd of the Cathedral, from his grave. They climbed over the Northwest wall, and escaped into the wilderness the same way. A man named Pavo was scheduled for guard duty on the North Gate, but left town with his belongings before the festival started. It's a safe bet that he was in collusion with Longshanks and his goblins.” ![]()

![]() Town Hizzle, fo' shizzle: "I do not wish to cause an uproar - only to find Pavo. I understand his desire for discretion, but the trail grows cold. While the politicians drone on, the real work must be done - securing Sandpoint, and repairing the damage; making the town safe for its people; and ensuring that those would see it burned are brought to justice.
The more information the sheriff can supply me with, the fewer ears I will have to pull to find this Pavo." ![]()

“Because we suspect that he was in on the goblin attack. The sheriff seems to be trying to cover it up – I suppose he doesn't want it to become common knowledge that one of his guards was a traitor. I plan to find Pavo, and any accomplices he might have, and see that they... cause no further trouble for Sandpoint – or anyone else.” ![]()

If/when she runs into Paehz, she recounts their findings from the manor and asks what he's turned up. I actually haven't read all of that - give me the cliff's notes version?
