I've heard that there are specific modules and scenarios that only certain GM's can run. Is there a list of these somewhere, or does someone know which ones these include?

In addition to what GR said, you can't accidentally buy one so thats not something you have to worry about.

Banning/not-banning snowball?

Re-introducing magical knack?

Banning bracers of falcon's aim for an indefinite amount of time, maybe.

Let that all soak in people...

How about you wait a week before making any of these changes? Give the community some to react and let this shiz sink in.

There is a lot a player needs to keep up with in order to follow the rules. So many changes with so little warning is going to send people into a tailspin.

Bard is the class that I've seen be either really awesome or really lame in PFS. Not much in between.

By adventure record, do you mean chronicle sheet for PFS credit?

There are also several other threads like it.

Thanks for sharing the info on the temple leader's name. That is very interesting.

Well this thread is a wash. You take the good, you take the bad and then Mrs. G comes into the room and takes away your nice things. :]

I'm doing just fine as an Eldritch Knight, thank you very much. Perhaps you pathetic westerners need the extra help, but a mighty son of Tian Xia certainly does not.

Sheesh, what a diva.

Too sooon?

First Steps and other FREE scenarios like We Be Goblins, I keep on hand at the game store in case I need them. Its a welcome reprieve from the already insane amount of things I have to lug to a gameday I'm running.

PDFs I pay for, are kept on extreme lockdown.

I agree with the OP, Snowball is spell that doesn't follow normal conventions and is therefor powerful.

If you are talking about the Baddie that was "locked up" for a while, heck yes he leaves and starts wreaking havoc on the countryside.

What level does a Viking PC qualify for the Rage Power "Boasting Taunt"?

Logically it seems like a Viking would need to have 9 levels before qualifying for a 6th level Barbarian Rage Power. But then again, maybe being Character Level 6 qualifies a viking for the same rage powers a Barbarian gets at that level.

Thoughts?

Viking wrote:

Berserker (Ex)

At 4th level, a viking gains the rage ability as the barbarian class feature, but her barbarian level is considered to be her fighter level –3.

This ability replaces weapon training 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Rage Powers (Ex)

Starting at 6th level, whenever a viking gains a fighter bonus feat, she can instead choose to gain a single rage power, as the barbarian class feature, in place of the bonus feat. Once selected, these rage powers cannot be changed.

Boasting Taunt wrote:

Prerequisite: Barbarian 6

Benefit: While raging, the barbarian can incite a creature to attack her by making an Intimidate check to demoralize. If the check succeeds, the target is also shaken as long as the barbarian is visible and raging or until it makes a melee attack against the barbarian. The barbarian receives a +2 circumstance bonus on this check for every alcoholic drink she has consumed during this rage. This is a language-dependent mind-affecting effect, and it relies on audible components.

The following two feats function differently in Pathfinder Society Organized Play than they do in regular games:

Gunsmithing does not grant the ability to craft firearms, ammunition, or black powder. Rather, it allows the purchase of bullets, pellets, black powder, and alchemical cartridges (with 1 rank in Craft [alchemy]) at the listed reduced price, but does not grant a discount on the purchase of any firearm. Resold items gained through this feat are worth half the actual cost paid, not half the regular market value for the item. No PC can purchase a gun without this feat, even if they possess the Amateur Gunslinger or Exotic Weapon Proficiency (firearm) feats.

SCPRedMage wrote:
Bottom line: anyone with the Gunsmithing feat can purchase bullets, pellets, and black powder for 10% of the price, with or without ranks of Craft (alchemy). Anyone with the Gunsmithing feat AND at least one rank in Craft (alchemy) can ALSO purchase alchemical cartridges for 50% of the price.

Can someone from Paizo please double tap this interpretation? I know how much staff loves re-answering rules questions and for that I apologize.

Thanks GN.

Secondly it makes NO SENSE given the fact they explicitly state you do not craft anything just buy cheaper materials.

SCPRedMage wrote:
You only need the rank in Craft (alchemy) to get the discount on alchemical cartridges; a gunslinger with zero ranks in ANY craft skill still purchases black powder and bullets at the discounted price.

If I told you were wrong would you call me a dick again? Cause you are wrong. You have to have a rank in craft alchemy to get the discount on anything.

Yes, it costs at LEAST 1.1gp for every shot they fire. One gold to purchase the black powder dose, one silver to purchase the bullet. All other options are more expensive.

If you're trying to say that "well, some shots can cost MORE than that, so technically the answer is 'no'", then the one-word answer serves only to sow confusion, and actively hinders the answering of the question.

Too many people don't read the rules, they just ask questions on messageboards and/or search for answers on messageboards. Blindly following the first post that they read. Heck some people don't even search for the answers to common questions before asking them.

Firing a gun in PFSociety with the Gunsmithing feat and at least one rank in Alchemy can result in the cost for one shot from a gun to be 1.1gp. It is possible but its not always the case.

Congratumalations on Ryan aka Mister Slanky achieving his 4th Star! (first in MN?) To my knowledge, he's been involved in PFS since the get-go. And up until last year served as Minnesota's Venture Captain.

Under his care and guidance the Minneapolis/St. Paul Pathfinder society has grown to over 300 members with Game Days happening in over 5 stores several days a week.

He was a great liaison to the game when I first got involved. Thanks again to Mister Slanky for all he's done for our area.

If you ever get the chance to sit at one of Ryan's tables, do it. You can tell he takes it seriously and puts in the legwork to make a fun session for all the players.

Having a level one at the table at a Tier 4-5 is not a good thing, at all. They are a liability.

A boon is a chronicle. The same character can't have the same chronicle applied more than once.

So... no?

Had some time to think about it. OffintheShower obviously had different mental images of what an eidolon could be (guess which is which). Needless to say, that through him for a loop and made Andrew feel it was squishy.

It didn't throw me for a loop, I was just letting you know that if you ever sat at my table your Eidolon wouldn't be an Andoran Eagle Knight.

Nuku wrote:
Are summoners that common?

They shouldn't be. Forming a bond with an outsider is an exceptional ability. To me it sounds like something an Epic Level Wizard could do.

Nuku wrote:
Can people identify magic missiles and point out fiendish hawks with similar ease?

Magic is not very strange or unusual in Golarion. Most people are aware of a multitude of magical things that can be bought or created to achieve specific effects. Look at the average market in Absalom. You can get any magic item you want. Its all there if you have the cash. Not mysterious at all.

Yes, I AM well aware that this is not currently legal. I was voicing my support of MAKING it legal, which really would only require a FAQ entry.

But thanks for calling me a "cheater".

Sorry it wasn't clear you were continuing along those lines.

LOL, good answer.

But remember, whenever someone comes up to the table with a character concept that makes you speechless, calm down and carefully consider it before reacting.

I never have and never will play a summoner who is 'married'. But I'm sure someone else will now. If you encounter them, be kind, after all it is--

Yes, but with some philosophical exceptions. I'd rather not have to stop people from cheating*. I'd rather play with people who didn't.

is it still cheating if the person doing it is un-aware that it is against the rules?

I'm not interested in philosophical debates or whatifs. Not being rude, just not interested in those types of "thought exercises".

Welcome to the post. Now ban summoners! :]

Except you cannot allow that at your table, SCPRed. Be it as a player or a GM.

You are taking several liberties with the Summoner class, Kerney.

I can also see many GMs simply not addressing it. I can also see, from my perspective, many GMs calling BS on you referring to your bonded outsider as Sir Feathers of the Andoran Eagle Knights.

Once again these are details most people wouldn't question, just get ready to deal with a GM who takes issue with you applying free vanities to your bonded outsider.

Since you need the source books anyway, I left those out.

Subdomains is the only use I would get out of a list like this.

Kerney wrote:

Here's another one. I frequently play with a summoner who presents and thinks of her Eidolon as her 'daughter'. My summoner is a big believer in Andoran equality, and when I bought the eagle knight boon, my eidolon started wearing the uniform (actually, changing his feather pattern to match).

Could such characters be treated as "Animals" per sae, especially if they speak common and such?

Do you think the Eagle Knights appreciate you putting your military rank on a bonded outsider? Did you pay for the rank twice? Can you even buy vanities for your Eidolon?

But they can't all chip in ... consumables have to be purchased by a single player, who records it in his/her chronicle (whether kept or sold back for 50%, which would also be recorded).

Got a citation for that?

I remember it was stated that you can chip in on something, say a scroll of Plane Shift, at the beginning of an adventure where your group thinks they are likely to need it. If it gets used, it is gone. If it doesn't get used, it is sold back, and everyone only loses half of the money they spent at the beginning on the scroll.

PFS Guide wrote:
In Pathfinder Society Organized Play, you may never buy items from, sell items to, or trade items with another player. You may, however, allow another player to borrow an item for the duration of a scenario. You are also permitted to spend your character’s gold to help a party member purchase spellcasting services such as raise dead or remove disease.

Emphasis mine.

Some people read that paragraph and think it allows them to chip as a group to pay for an item. Those people are wrong. The same paragraph tells you what you can chip in as a group to purchase.

OK thanks. Was starting to doubt Furious Focus for a barbarian. Weapon focus might be better...

Yah I'm not looking to make the world's greatest damage dealer. I'm looking for a challenge as well as having people doubt my powers. And to see how many gnome tossing jokes I get after chopping a few enemies in half.

Elemental may be the way to go. I've already spent 8-10 hours creating this character, whats a few more! :]
