Oderon heads to the reception counter, and tries to understand if those will do what he wants.

”Usually these buildings have some sort of reinforcement besides the glass doors” - Oderon comments, looking around - ”If we can drop them, maybe it can buy us some time”

Is there anything like that RNGod? You know, those gates or fences some buildings have (like malls for example), which you can close so people cannot just break the glass and get inside?

”And now what Quig? We go up? Someone look for the stairs - I don’t feel like risking takling the elevator”

"Fair enough! Just let us know where you need to be, and we'll make sure no bug takes a chunk from your behind while you are broadcasting" - the Vesk smiled widely.

"I am not sure what you mean there Quig - you are not coming?" - Oderon conntinues running - "Are you seeing anything higher than a building around here?" - he chuckles.

"So instead of continuing to go for the buildings, if we see a car you say we stop, and try to hotwire it?" - Odo adds to Navasi, still continuing to run toward the cluster of big buildings.

Hope the others are following him? :D

"Sounds good to me! I know shit about hotwiring cars, but I am sure Quig can" - he nods - "Eyes open for a car that will take us all boys and girls!" - the vesk shouted to his companions.

Ok guys, I was intent on letting everyone chime in, but it has been almost a week, so:

"I am not a very religious one, so I say we hole up in one of the buildings" - Oderon grunts, veering off towards the large structures - "At least in there we won't be exposed as much. We can try to hole up and hide, or find a bottleneck and make a stand there. Let's go!"

"Quig, try to get some sort of signal in the comms! Give our location, and let whomever is listening know we need immediate evac. As if anyone will be coming for us..." - he chuckled, moving along.

"Fair enough!" - Oderon grunts in approval of Navasi's reasoning.

"You wanna stay put on top of a rock while the drones close in?" - Odo snarls.

"Try to pick a path over rock or more solid ground - perhaps they cannot dig through that!" - Oderon roars as they push onward.

Idea is to try and find a path that takes us over terrain which may be harder to dig through - rock would be perfect, asphalt might help if rock is not available. Any such options available?

”I do not understand you Navasi” - Oderon shrugs, but continues moving.

"I don't give a rat's ass who or what he was firing at - I am just saying I would grab him, and drag him back to the soldier boys who had him in the first place" - the Vesk grunts - "But if you wanna make friends with him, please do"

"What the f*%%..... I don't want to chase a cornered beast!" - Oderon grunted - "Screw this - thought this shit would be simpler" - he adds - "Can you get Scout out there, or do we need to get him?"

"You're right, but we are in survival mode now" - Oderon grunts - "We do not know if and when we will find supplies. So we cannot simply pass this one up - let's go"

Oderon waits for the group to join him, and then moves toward the building.

Oderon does not attack the creature as it retreats - "It put up a strong fight, probably defending some younglings" - he nods approvingly.

"Quig, any chance for Scout to check out the building? We may find something worth scrounging"

"You're gonna regret that..." - Odo growled back at the creature, swinging hard.

Doshko: 1d20 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 3 = 12

RNGod, is that the only info we can get with a Life Science roll? Anything on attack modes, special abilities, resistances, or anything really? :P

"What the hell are you doing Kesk? You have a death wish or something? Get back here and use your damned pulse pistol!"

Oderon stands between the creature and his remaining companions and readies an attack, for when and if the creature approaches, perhaps chasing Kesk.

Damage if it hits: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Oderon stops, and draws his doshko, scanning their surroundings.

"Careful guys..."

If the group finds no threats, he moves ahead.

"They just keep coming..." - Oderon snarls, then turns to the others, urging them on - "Lets keep it up boys and girls - we need to keep moving"

"Damn this..." - with a snarl, Oderon grabs the medallion and follows his companions - "See you on the other side Sir!" - he shouts at Jaldamarrak as they leave.

"I will respectfully disobey sir - I am staying also" - Oderon moves toward the wounded Jaldamarrak with a grim visage.

He carries an MK Healing Serum in one hand, and a cigar in the other - "Do you have any preference Major?"

”Let’s keep moving” - Oderon grunts.

"Here they come - haul ass ladies and gents!" - Odo roars, waiting for the others to start moving, and then following after them, keeping a watch at their rear.

"What did he say? Go to the river and regroup where?!"

"Told you" - Oderon grunts as the dredge attaches itself to Navasi.

With a snarl, Oderon swings again at the one attacking Navasi - "Just get away from it Navasi, will you?!"

"Navasi, help them!" - Oderon grunts, his smile at taking down one of the creatures short lived, as he notices Quig and Kesk are hard pressed.

"Away with you!" - he swings again, trying to dispatch the one on him.

<Oderon here with the Starfinders team - anyone has a visual on what is happening? Screams and gunfire far off to the East. Come in!> - he sends the message over an open comms channel.

"Whatever Gods may be out there, they have forsaken this place" - Oderon curses as the massive structure comes tumbling down from space, killing thousands.

We will rendezvous with Navasi at the spot appointed by Quig.

"Damn... Look at that" - Oderon stops for a moment, staring at the many Swarm vessels surrounding the human settlement.

After a while, he pings the woman on the comms - <Navasi? Report>

"Will see you there Sir!" - Oderon smiles and nods, then turns to Captain Brymenor - "And you Captain - the first round will be on me. For you and your boys" - he adds, then moves off to join the others.

"I have just met with Major Jaldamarrak - he is the one in charge of the forces here" - Oderon approaches first Navasi, pulling her along to join the others - "And the one captain Arvin asked us to contact" - he adds - "So gents, and milady, the Major needs our assistance to take the fight away from the civilians, and allow them time to escape with at least a modicum of safety"

Pulling out the datapad, he points out two dots on the map - "We go and engage the bugs here, and the castrovelians engage them here. And we should get moving sooner, rather than later" - the vesk continues - "Quig, find us the best route there, and a defensible position? Maybe some bottleneck or something - up to you"

Oderon's chest visibly puffs at the compliment, and he immediately returns the greeting by offering his own hand - "Whatever we can do to help - it is an honor to finally meet you Sir! Venture Captain Arvin has always spoken highly of you major Jaldamarrak. May your scales never dull" - he adds with a customary Vesk expression.

"Good" - Oderon muttered to himself, and approached the Captain and Jaldamarrak.

He kept a distance, but placed himself as to be seen/noticed.

"I am going to check in with the Captain" - Oderon nods at the others, then moves off toward the tent, looking for Brymenor.

"Where is she?" - Oderon looks around.

"Well, well, well" - Odo chuckles and moves ahead to greet Jathela - "Good to see some of you managed to get out of there alive" - he looks around - "We heard on the comms the town is being evacuated - need an extra pair of hands?"

"And the fact civilians are probably being shredded to pieces by swarm drones" - Oderon adds.

"Lead the way then Quig, and lets hustle up"

"Quig, are the tracks going in the same direction as this Inter-Region Highway 12?" - Oderon inquires.

Assuming Quig shares the information:

"I say forget about the building - if no one is up there to ambush us then we are good for now I guess" - Oderon looks around.

"If we are done here, then time to haul ass - I say we follow their tracks north, and try to team up if we can - agreed?"
