I am have absolutly no problem with flavor rolls, they just enhance the flavor.

For just roleplaying you can pretty much roll everything, but in combat I will roll initiatve and saves.

You know not really anything.

"you look simply liquidescent in this light. And sir, you must be in charge around here, it radiates from you like an aurora."

He pumps the man's hand like a well handle.

The barkeep can't contain a small chuckle and the other woman's face quickly turns into a small smile, while she smiles you can clearly see deep worry lines etched into her face.

The sheriff introduces himself while giving a very firm handshake: "Good day to you sir, I'm Deldrin Baleson the local enforcher of law, but don't worry I'm not that strict."He gives a quick wink."So you look like an eccentric man, do you have any tales worth sharing?"

The barkeep still in a mild state of laughter says: "Sure just take a slice of meat and pay me when you have tastet it, I hope it's not too warm."

Arun please make a perception check for that, just a general tip, make a guess for when you have to roll so you can do that in your first post instead of a response, that speeds things up a bit, thanks in advance.

Oww okay, no problem I did notice it but I wasn't really sure.

When you cross the first corner of the street, you already hear the sound of a bustling tavern, while you walk towards it, slowly the smell of cooked deer approaches you.

Above the Tavern hangs an old wooden duck, and above it stands "The Sitting Duck".

Inside it doesn't seem to be as full as you might have thought, there are only a few people inside, an Elven ranger quietly reading a book near the fire where a deer is slowly cooking, two lumberjacks sitting across eachother and they seem to be talking loud and disruptive about what the right way is to hold an axe, lastly there is a half-elven sheriff drunkenly enjoying a conversation with the female barkeep and an educated looking woman with small concave glasses.

What do you want to do?

You can make a nature check for flavor if you want to.

Okay, we have two votes to go to the tavern only one left, or if you want to go somewhere else, three person rule was a fantastic idea.

For me it's still not working, maybe someone else can try and tell me if it works for them.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

You remember reading something in an obscure book about the fungal disease of blackscour taint,

Known Village diseases wrote:
Blackscour taint is a fungal disease, contracted by ingesting any part of a blackscour mushroom, or drinking water that these mushrooms were growing in.After ingesting tainted food or drink, an infected person would seem normal for anywhere for 1 to 3 days. After this time, they develop a hacking cough that quickly turns bloody if the disease left untreated.

arun smithson wrote:
But how rude of me, talking only of myself - who are you, and why the weary sigh? Can I assume you are here to warn us of the plague I hear has beset your town? Maybe your visitors today" Here he pauses to glance at Khaz and Sariel by his side "could be able to assist your fellow townfolk in this regard?

The man doesn't seem at all interested: "Oww I am of no interest to you, and yes there is a large blackscour taint outbreak but I think it is under control, our herbalist Laurel is pretty talented in my opinion. Just make sure you do not touch any sick people, they look ill."

After this sidenote he falls back into his rhythm: "You do not seem to pose a threat to this town, please come in and please don't make any ruses"

The man opens the wooden palissade and let you in, he closes the gate behind you and you hear him mumble: "Ahh if those adventurers are like them all, they will try to help and just fail miserably like always"

Thank you all for replying so quickly, now let's really get started with this adventure, and be sure to converse between players too.

Hmm I seem to not be able to, but I don't know what the problem is.

Okay, thanks when you're done I'll load it to the campaign mainpage.

Arun smithson wrote:
In the event that there is a casualty, would you be OK with replacement characters joining the party? I guess it depends how far through we are etc.

You can always rejoin, maybe only not during the last fights but for the rest you can rejoin, when we have found a group that works I do not want people leaving.

Arun Smithson wrote:
For other time saving tips, have you got a word doc somewhere handy with the characters initiative blocks/ saving throws/ perception rolls? Copy paste is your friend.

Yes, I will add this to the campaign frontpage, in it will be the most important stuff.

Jean-Pierre wrote:
@Sariel: Gladius and Armored Kilt are not CORE...

Oww I didn't even see that, thanks!

Btw there I have one question left to you all:
Could you guys keep track of the loot and treasure that you get, because I think that's your responsibility as players and it also lifts a bit of workload from my shoulders.

Yeah yeah it's more a theme thing than a healing thing, or is it??

No not at all, just for consistency

Okay great, I'm looking forward to seeing it, until now we have
A Paladin
A Cleric
A Wizard
A Sorcerer
A Barbarian
What would be interesting is a religous character, because we already have two of those and it would be great if we had a lot of those.

Hey just one quick question so that we can keep consistent, whick fond did you use for the draconic language.

@Eminem80 No you are just to last person that can apply before the deadline. Please hurry

Sure, go ahead.
Oww I forgot to mention one thing to you all.
I am a pretty Harsh DM so when there has happened something like a PC death there is no turning back, you can be resurrected but there will be consequences then, I am sorry if you do not like this way of playing but if everyone is a bit more carefull there is normally no problem. I do admit if there was a fault on my part.

Also but just a minor thing, I do a lot of things with random tables, almost all loot will be handled that way.

Are there any questions??

Yess, it's perfect, could you join us in discussion and gameplay
For everyone else

This Campaign has now closed recruitment

@Avogadro the Astouding
Wow, I really like your character it has a very creative design, please join us in discussion and gameplay everything in character sheet seems in order.

@Jean-Pierre still waiting for you, we will be fully starting tomorrow around this time. Hoping I wil get your BG before that.

Okay thanks for your advice, I guess I will go with that then, so 4 or 5 players it is.

As for the monster iniative, I already was planning to do that, The Three Person Rule I like a lot thanks for that, we will be using that.

Also for the Gameplay thread please just do one response and stop there till we have all players, so I can see easily which characters there are and how they respond.

Fortunatly almost ready to play, I'm excited.

The small village of Falcon’s Hollow is a wild place. Nestled in the shadow of Droskar’s Crag, the people of Falcon’s Hollow are hearty and stern. Theirs is a life of hardships, broken only occasionally by a handful of festivals and the infrequent merchant caravan.
They face constant adversity from both the wilderness and the wiles of man. Wolves nip at their heels and cutpurses ply at their pockets. It is a testament to their strength that they even manage to survive at all

After a last weary day of travel, you are greeted by a small crippled young human guy at the front gate of Falcon's Hollow:

Great, more travelers (deep sigh) He speaks as though he has done this a thousand times already: Welcome to the village of Falcon's Hollow, please state your name and business.

Please roll a Knowledge Local check

15:

Perched at the edge of civilized lands, the small town of Falcon’s Hollow has always had to rely on itself to solve its problems. Meanwhile, the uncaring lumber barons squeeze the common folk for every last copper, deaf to their pleas. Now the hacking coughs of the sick are heard throughout town. A plague has come to Falcon’s Hollow and the town’s leaders can’t be bothered to stop it.

From this post on everything placed here will be in character.

I just opened the campaign thread
@Robert Henry Looked at your build, just one little thing, could you take something different than a Kunai because this campaign will be core only.

For everyone, how much players do you guys find comfortable playing with, I am personally looking for about 6 to 7 but critique is always welcome.

@Sariel please join the discussion thread
@Jean-Piere could you please fabricate some more depth in your character adn post it, thanks in advance

@khaz dourblade
Hey, I read your character and there is just one concern, could you elaborate how you can get that high a saves, for the rest it all seems perfect

Khaz Dourblade wrote:

I'm in. Especially as I heard 'dwarven monestary.' Introducing a dwarven cleric of Torag. It is his belief that the entire world was made on Torag's Forge, and as such he should be a deity for all people, not just the dwarves. He came to Falcon's Hallow on a mission of conversion, but when disease spread through the town he could not stand idly by. With hammer in hand he has volunteered to join the party what is being sent to find the cure.

Party role is, of course, healing.

If you could move to discussion please

Robert Henry wrote:

Obeythegods, how many players are you taking and how long are you keeping recruitment open? Or is it first come first serve?

I will put together a human paladin. Who hearing about the plague in Falcons Hollow, has rushed there to help.

If everything is in order, it will just be first serve, but I will add something like 6 or 7 players, because of drop-outs and to be sure the story has a fluent drive.

Waiting patiently for your character.

Okay Thanks, I just meant that you had too many languages, so that is fixed now, and the spells also seem fine. Thanks for restructering.

@Abyssdancer, I am fairly new to this website how can I add you to the campaign? Or do you just post in the discussion thread? Sorry but I am a little confused about this.

louxman wrote:

What sort of exceptions? Sorry for the tirade of questions.

I am putting together a druid but the animal choices from the core book are very limited , would you allow a companion chosen from the first bestiary? A Roc for instance?

This is an example, a Roc will be okay, but it should be toned down a bit because in relationship to the animal companions in the core book it's a bit overpowered. Would you agree to that?

Just opening the discussion thread, here we will post everything OOC and all other stuff i,e mechanics, questions and just discussing topics.

I'd like to start with a minor concern, Abyssdancer I have two questions concerning your character,

1. Could you clarify how you got all your languages they seem a bit much for a level 1 wizard.
2. I think you did something wrong in picking your 0-level spells, you have three per day, as a wizard you always have read magic prepared and it doesn't count towards your prepared spells.
But then you have prepared, detect magic and light. light is okay but you shouldn't have detect magic, because it is in the divination school and as a wizard you don't have 0-level spells of your opposed school(s).

Hope to hear from you soon.

AbyssDancer wrote:

Hey, count me in! I'd be very keen to join. I'm relatively new to PbP (two games in progress) but moderately experienced with Pathfinder FtF. Once per day (or preferably more) suits me fine.

I'll add an arcane spellcaster character as soon as you tell us how many stat points (15 or 20?) we have to play with. I assume average starting gold.

If you are still interested message me back and I'll add you to the game.

In this post I will answer all questions that have been asked:

louxman wrote:

Marvelous this sounds great.

How do you want to do abilities, rolled or points or what have you?

I assume core means no traits yeah?

I think I'd like to make a druid/ranger outdoorsy type

20 point buy, no traits although there will be "traits" added by accomplisments in game.

oniwaban wrote:

Yes, how would you like to handle stat generation, money, etc.?

Please just take the average amount of gp by class

Thanks for everyones interest in this game.
If there are any more questions, please ask.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

This is an open recruitment for the small module Hollows Last Hope.

We will be finishing this adventure and if everyone wants to continue we will.

A Short Summary:
"The plague has come to the town of Falcon’s Hollow, and not even the town’s priest can abate its wretched course. With the coughs of the sick and the wails of the dying echoing through town, the local herbalist uncovers a cure, but she needs some brave heroes to retrieve the ingredients. Finding the cure means risking the dangerous Darkmoon Vale, infiltrating a witch’s haunted hut, and delving the ruins of an abandoned dwarven monastery.": from the back of the adventure

Some information you probably want:
- Starts at level 1, finishes at Level 2
- For Beginners and Veterans both
- Core book only, exceptions can be made
- Myself and all players need to be fairly active, once per 24 hours minimum but of course there can be exceptions and I expect those, just say so prior to it, if someone doesn't abide to this they will be kicked out of the group, I will of course also be following this rule.
- It would be handy if you are close to me in regards of timezones (GMT+2/GMT+1) it isn't required but it just makes things easier.

There is a large chance I forgot things, just ask me and I will clarify it.

Hope to hear from everyone soon!!
