While that's definitely the case for people who mostly derive their enjoyment from min-maxing (not saying it's bad since I love to do it, just talking specifically about the sub-set of people who primarily enjoy that), it's not a property inherent to the game. Pathfinder is not (for the most part) a competition. Because it's not a competition, there's no major driving requirement that you do the utmost damage/CC/whatever possible with your character unless that's just what you desire. If you're content with doing a bit less damage with X weapon or spell because you reeeeeally like the thought of your character using X weapon or spell, then the game very much is rewarding you by having that option that you want available.
Here, let me make it really simple for thee: read this Post, and allow its glorious wisdom to seep into thine mortal mind. If'n thou doth still object to the notion that relative power betwixt Pathfinder characters ith significant, please respondeth further in light of the knowledge thou hast gained.

Amen.

Our most majestic and fairest mistress hast writ this most wondrous posteth about an incident with the wizard, a toweth'r and high-level playeth.

2) martial caster disparity

A gopd thing to fix, however the biggest problem here is expectations of the players.

Players tend to see level 20 fighters as conan or aragorn, but given that conan and aragorn are lvl 5, that is a huge drop right there, they should be expecting a lvl 8-10 character to easily defeat conan amd aragorn, probably even at the same time. And expecting conan instead of conan cubed, means they are doing and thus getting far less from them than they should.

Also, the 15 minute workday. The idea is for the PCs to run several encounters between rests making spells a very precious and limited commodity. Each spell cast should be a "turn the tide of battle" sort of thing, or to enable other actions to solve a problem. But when the pcs can recharge as desired and expend all their spells every encounter, of course there will be a problem.

Quite honestly, fixing this is most easily done by the gm enforcing the expected balancing factor, making it difficult to refresh spells. Barring that, or if like me, you want to drop spells every round, I think you need to just recreate the entire magic system from scratch. Honedtly, I recommend making physical attacks like from martials to be the most damaging and the hardest to defend against, thus making direct attacking a poor use of magic.

Lo! our L'rd and Savi'r Ashiel The Only hast already spoken about the problem thou art wond'ring about. h're art h'r w'rds, f'rev'r emblazon'd upon the stone tablets of this thread.

lo! alloweth me did spread the wisdom of our matriarch, lord Ashiel, into these dark lands regarding allignments in Pathfinder.

core rule booketh sayeth:

"Good implies altruism, respect f'r life, and a concern f'r the dignity of sentient beings. valorous(good) characters maketh personal sacrifices to holp others. . . . . . Evil implies hurting, oppressing, and killing others. "

lord Ashiel teaches us yond the word of the rules is the most holy, and thus this is so. Ther'fore, if 't be true what thou art doing with the slave doest not did hurt, oppress, 'r killeth other sentient beings, t is not Evil. if 't be true what thou art doing with the slave is altruistic, respectful of life and concernful f'r the dignity of other sentient beings, t is Valorous(Good).

however!

if 't be true thee did hurt, oppress 'r killeth the slave, yond act shalt not beest valorous(good), and neither shalt t beest hath called neutral, 'twill beest evil. if 't be true, on the other handeth, thee care f'r the slave, giveth him fine food and eventually freedom, those acts shalt not beest hath called Evil, and neither shalt they beest hath called neutral, they shalt beest hath called Valorous(Good).

mybe i speaketh falsely, f'r the true Will of our monarch is not f'r mortal minds, but i bethink mine own words may holp thee understandeth this rather perilous part of the rules better, and maketh thee enjoy the game moo than befere.
