I only bought S&S because it went down to 27 dollars. With that purchase I also bought the character add on pack for S&S and (finally) the last adventure pack for RotR. Though I still can't bring myself to play all the way back up.

I don't feel that I will purchase the rest of the adventures set for S&S.

Really got into RotR, the more I played the found like things were lacking. Lack of playtesting? Theme? Too many henchmen cards. Or the characters cards clearly a better side than the other. Really wanted Mersiel to use daggers for example. That being said, I did spend a lot of time on the game, maybe I just burned out on it. (I'll play the last adventure sooner or later!)

I've played 90% solo, and a few times with a buddy.

As for S&S, though I can see the major improvements, it just feels...not exciting. Still feels like something is missing. With S&S, I've played all the characters through the start. I really tried. Bosses were better, tougher, more close games. Allies were better. Still don't like the excess henchmen cards. Spells were lackluster for me. Maybe needed more "cool" weapons.

Even tried it with my buddy, and he just couldn't get into it.

Really wanted to like PACG games, I enjoy the community, though I've mostly "lurked". I respect what ya'll doing. Through my line of work, I believe feedback is important! Wish I could be more helpful Vic, you guys are on the right path to a great thing!

Feel free to message me, or ask me anymore questions if I was too vague.

cheers.

I'm thinking a progression types series. Something beyond the tutorials...

Telling the stories of the characters, keeping it thematic, running through the adventures. Solo player, aim around 3 characters?

Letting folks decide who to play, and what items to keep?

Would folks like to see a video likes this? If so, what would you like to see?

To be clear, I haven't made any videos before, but I feel this could be a fun project to pass the time. (Seasonal worker here!)

Just a food for thought thread.

I think dice towers with PACG features on them would be very cool.

It took close to two weeks after initial release to the subscribers to get Sins of Saviors off of Amazon because of how fast it sold out. So you may not receive as early or on time as you may think. I will say what sold me to this is Ranzak promo character for S&S. To each his own MaxxGold

Corrosive Storm is what happens after Taco Bell, so I'd say 2 D12's and have to rest afterwards.

"immune to summon monster" monsters

"If you fail the check, the monster is undefeated but deals 0 damage." So...there's that.

Though I'd say Lini doesn't need it per say, it may be better for other spell casters.

I think you also forget to mention, since you are a wild warden, and if you took the power, "Add 2 (4) to your Divine check" which would do even more damage.

Automatic card shuffler. Best 12 bucks ever.

Constructs in the game can't be targeted by Attacks spells. So perhaps instead of the cure bit, he can't be affected by powers like the Enchanters, Gogmort, Black Fang, etc?

Hmm. Do constructs have gender?

"weapon platform" seems like it should just be for the destruction role

perhaps start with the self repair function? It could cost your first exploration to use.

Feels like he should have more weaknesses. Like prone to Acid or Fire damage.

This guy needs like a blacksmith ally that functions similar to the mending spell. that'd be sweet

Either way I like it. Makes me think of General TickTock from that Rumo book.

Fenris you're character is very clever and incredibly well thought out. I like it. Which role are you going to go with? I'd love to see more your characters.

Could be interesting as a base power.

Discard a Blessing of the Gods to add 3 ([] +4) to your St and con checks.

-You may discard ([] recharge) an item with the liquid trait instead of the normal banish when played on another character.

This could then leave the other power for a the "feral beast" role

Discard a Blessing of the Gods to add 3 ([] +4) ([] +5) to your strength and con.

-BURY ([] discard) a BotG to Roll a D12 instead of your normal strength or dexterity dice. You remain in this state until the end of the turn. You may explore again with each monster ([]barrier) defeated. (must be the only character at this location?)

So I suppose you could choose to Discard the BotG for one effect or bury it for the other?

This could leave his other role to be a healer with his potions.

So perhaps in his "human state" he'd fairly low dice.
Str D6
Dex D6
Con D6
Int D10
Craft +2
Wisdom D8
Survival +1
Char D4

His name is Steve...the potions master! A man aged early through a lifetime of ordeals. His skills in the apothecaries seek to cure his own inner demons.

Of course his focus should be on the blessing of the Gods.

Perhaps you could discard a BotG to "transform" to get increased stats and remain in this state until the end of the turn. You may explore again with each monster defeated. (Bloodlust?) (perhaps can't weapons in this state?)

Roles could maybe be a feral beast ("uncontrolled") and a "controlled beast" where he has finally found a potion to control his transformations.

Like to see him maybe use the Craft skill and perhaps have an item focus. Find a way to use potions differently? (perhaps use on others)

No allies for his card feat for his distrust of himself around others.

Let's make this guy.

And no his doesn't have to be named Steve.

Black Tooth's Fang
Gogmurt's Staff

More boss weapons!

Edit: I think I've been thinking of this character as an Arcane Archer as a whole. Not a Ranger with the possibility to become an Arcane Archer as role. Srry folks..

Ya sorry, it does make more sense to start without spells. Was thinking about the role change. But even then any spells added would just get banished until a role was picked.

Arcane + 1 under Dex does make sense. I'd wouldn't want a Charisma focused arcane caster...

It could be interesting not to start without weapons though. With all the recharge effect happening, he should be cycling cards a lot. Eventually he'd have to decide whether to use spells, or bows. Seems like that'd be a hard to decision to make? You'd want to keep both in your hands, but you'd also want other cards to recharge to explore?

[]You may recharge a spell to add 1d4 ([]+1) ([]+2) and the traits of the spell to a combat check when you play a weapon with the Ranged trait.

I like this power. What if you had it from the get go? Then you wouldn't have to choose spells or weapons? The strategy would be having to decide which spells to discard. (Though how would upgraded spells cards come into play) Perhaps not even have to worry about the Arcane effect?

I'm probably just rambling, sorry if this isn't helpful! Food for thought

Hey Hawk, what if his Arcane was under his Dex?
Perhaps make his Charisma a D4 instead of Int.? That's a far better (harder) weakness...

I'd maybe bump the Fortitude and Acrobatics modifiers.

Weapons: 3 []4 []5
Spells: 1 []2 []3
Armors: 1 []2
Items: 3 []4
Allies: 3 []4 []5
Blessings: 4 []5 []6

Maybe a Divine Markman and a Arcane Archer?
Or is that too cheesy? One role could grant Divine plus one (under dex?) and one role could grant arcane plus one (under dex?)
-Support/damage roles?

So Lini with Scythe or the FF + bear + incendiary cloud + blessings would be quite the combo o.O

Dogslicer +1 on Seelah. Recharge is a D6. I used Hemlock and SaberKitty quite a bit to add more D6. Poison Cloud from Ezren added another D6. I think Blizzard will 2 or 3 to the check? Kinda looking forward to that. (Shes a power healer with two major cures and mass heal so not worried about the discard effect..)

Id imagine Lini with Scythe or the new Falchion will be good as well...

Merisiel makes good use of it when she is in the Prison location. Recharge to card to auto-pass the location. She can then also take advantage the dex/disable scenario effect. (Roll dex instead of the usual trait when acquiring boons)

There are multiple scenarios where collecting allies are the focal point.

Recharge to pass the 10 check on the Red Dragon? Yes please.

It'd be cool to get it as loot when defeating Black Fang. Kinda set you up for the Local Heroes.

Just my 2 cents ^^

Mighta been good to test out role powers a bit more as well... Charlatan lem..really? Seems a lot of roles left much to be desired...Oh well...

My recent achievement, defeating Mork with just a long sword as Seelah... it's cool though, took his club to replace it.

Dunno if folks consider Crown of Charmisa undervalued. To me, it is a must have item. Shoulda been loot dare I say. Made me sad when the latest Grey Elephant video tossed it..again..

Thanks Fenris. I decided to recharge instead of discard with the upgrade to shuffle into deck. Though I ultimately just went with acrobat after playing around some. Using just daggers hasn't handicapped me that much, and often don't even bother using "backstab". Blessing recharge is just so useful. Merisiel just does to much damage even with the handicap of daggers.

Cool use of Perception or Knowledge check at the Secret Stairs, folks would very likely be rolling D4s for that one.

Hello folks. I know home brew isn't the most popular forum around, but I would like to get some advice/brain storm an idea I've been working on. I thoroughly plan on committing to this, so I would love to make a balanced character

Quick background, finished the A4 with one party, now trying a different party. I've spent a lot time playing this game, really enjoy it. So I wanted to try something harder. Current party is now Ezren, Seelah, and Merisiel. (Hard party, harder to support each other, you should try it)

Point is, I've been playing Merisiel with daggers only. Instead of range, I've been rolling it as Stealth. Very hard, as the D4 act as a sort of checks and balance to her being really strong naturally. With the D4s, makes you really think about when to use "backstab". Also, final boss fight is interesting because I cannot use backstab, as the rest of my party is usually there.

I'm on Attack on The Dam ATM, close to being able to pick my role. I was thinking it'd be cool to change the roles a bit to focus the daggers as the main role. So one role could be Utility/Support one could be Weapon/Attack focus

In short, Acrobat title would become Thief, but keep the acrobat power traits.

The other role would be Assassin.

Evade
Backstab to add +1 +2 +3 +4
Add 2 to your noncombat check to close a location
When you play a blessing to add to your Dexterity check, you may recharge it instead of discarding it.

Now the potential add in powers.

Recharge daggers instead of the discard. You may add +2 ( +4 )for dagger recharge.
(So instead of the dagger discard power, recharge)
This would be still be hard to use, because it'd leave you weaponless

OR

you may treat 1's when rolled by a weapon with the dagger trait as "2's" ( or +3's )

OR simply add +2 to daggers in general

Thoughts? Feed back? let me know, I will being playing an assassin Merisiel one way or the other ^_^

A barrier heavy location would be fun. Like 5 or 6. Cave on the beach would be fun for it. Everyone who encounters it would be like "oh man what's in the cave??" Will it be good, will it be bad? Or both?

Perhaps an interesting way to close the location would be to encounter a random barrier. Could be hard, could be easy.

Not sure what you could do for the main part of it... Kinda like the idea of bury a blessing to automatically succeed at a check to defeat a barrier. Like PLEASE GODS DONT LET THIS BELL DROP ON MEEEEE.

Boar just like some other cards, do not scale into late game. (Some cards dont have a that are basic, elite or veteran)It's a topic brought up elsewhere. I don't mean to stray the main topic here.

Kinda of off-topic but something that never I use/worry about are monster abilities like the tickwood boar. +1 to difficulty is just not scary enough for me to bother rolling a wisdom check for =/

I'm curious why potions don't aid to strength or dexterity checks instead of the more limited perception/stealth checks. Potions can be hard to get with the intelligence checks required. Since they are banished when used, seemed to me the potions would not be unbalanced if they boosted main skill feats. Sajan as a drunk would be more interesting with potions like these.

A lot of NAMED allies I've simply never have used. Mayor. Foxglove. Ameiko. Snake and dog/night watch. To name a few from the base... Mostly I just never encounter them, but

Made some updates, thank you Fenris for taking the time to help out.

Is she to powerful or weak?

STR 1d8 []1 []2 []3 Melee +2
DEX 1d6 []1 []2
CON 1d12 []1 []2 []3 []4 Fortitude +3
INT 1d6 []1 []2
WIS 1d4 []1 Survival + 2 <-- changed this so she could possibly pass a 6 survival check to close.
CHA 1d6 []1 []2 []3

Weapon 2 []3 []4
Spell -
Armor 5 []6 []7 []8
Item 4 []5 []6
Ally 4 []5
Blessing -

Fixed this. Ally at 4 could represent thematically the party that rescued her. Troub. Guard, Standard Bearer, Guide.
Starting weapon; Long spear, Short Sword
Items could be: Amulet of protection, potion of fortitude, bracers, and mattock
Armor: 2x wooden shields, 2x chain, 1 leather

Fixed Base Powers:

You may treat weapons with the Spear or Glaive trait as 1-handed.

You may recharge an Armor card with the Shield trait from your hand to add 1d6 (O +1) to your Melee combat check. You cannot use this power if the check includes a weapon with the Two-Handed trait

If you would discard ([] bury) an armor, recharge it instead.

Hastati:

[] You may add +2 ([] +3) ([] +4) to your combat checks when using a weapon card with the spear trait.
[] For your combat check, you may discard a card with the Armor trait to roll your Constitution die ([] or Fortitude) instead of your Strength die.
[] If you didn´t play a card with the Heavy Armor trait this turn, you may move to another player's location and block combat damage at another location on their turn. <-- Main change here.
[] You may play cards with the Shield trait to reduce damage dealt to a character at your location.

Bulwark:

[] You may reveal an armor with the Shield trait to reduce all damage to all characters at this location to 0. You lose your next free exploration. Discard ([] recharge) the card revealed.
[] When you play an armor card with the heavy armor trait, you may reduce all types of damage by the same amount instead.
[] If you didn´t move this turn, you may recharge up to 1 ([] 2) cards when you reset your hand.

Hello! First time poster, thought I'd share a character idea I've been working on. Contribute (hopefully) to the community a bit. Love to see if we can make her viable, open to ideas and suggestions to polish the character.

I was thinking it'd be cool to focus a character around armor and Constitution. Shield bash idea comes from a Sheelah revised thread, as I really liked the idea. The idea for her is to not have anything similar to the existing tanky roles. Valeros has a role that can reduce others damage, so I don't want to repeat that.

I would like the focus on armor and spears as her weapon. Back story could be something a long the lines of a prodigy of metalwork, famous around Sandpoint. Captured by bandits for her skills, she is forced to work for them. She would later be rescued by a band of heroes. Afterwards, she isolated herself in her work, seeking to permanently to shut down the bandits. Arma prefers solitude avoiding even the gods themselves. Though if needed she will reluctantly help out others.

She could be focused for a good solo play, but of course this is a co-op, so she can perhaps grow around her fellow adventurers.

Arma (Female Human Guardian)

STR 1d8 []1 []2 []3 Melee +2
DEX 1d6 []1 []2
CON 1d10 []1 []2 []3 []4 Fortitude +3
INT 1d6 []1 []2
WIS 1d4 []1 Survival + 1
CHA 1d6 []1 []2 []3

Cards: Favored Card Type: Armor
Weapon 2 []3 []4
Spell -
Armor 5 []6 []7 []8
Item 3 []4 []5
Ally 2 [] 3
Blessing 3 []4 []5

Hand Size 4 [] 5

Light Armor [X] Heavy Armor [X] Weapons [ ]

You may treat weapons with the Spear or Glaive trait as 1-handed.

You may recharge an Armor card with the Shield trait from your hand to add 1d6 (O +1) to your Melee combat check. You cannot use this power if the check includes a weapon with the Two-Handed trait

You may add +1 ([] +2) to combat damaged reduced.

You may make a fortitude 6 check to prevent a card with the Armor trait from being discarded ([] or buried)

Roles:

Hastati Or Legionnaire <-- Would like this to be light armored focused. Light on her feet, and first to the frontline. Shield and spears to strike down foes while protecting allies. Melee focused.

You may add +2 ([] + 1) ([] + 2) to your combat checks when using a weapon card with the spear trait

You may discard an Armor card with the Shield trait to roll your constitution check ([] or fortitude) instead of your normal combat check.

Bulwark <-- Would this to be heavy armored focused. Heavy. Slow. Armor focused.

Shield wall: You may reveal an armor with the Shield trait to block all damage to all characters at this location. You may not explore your next turn. Discard ([] recharge)the card revealed.

Potential ideas for powers?
Perhaps the Hastati could be a tracker of some sort? Allow exploration at another location after exploring again?

Bulwark...potential to use 2 shields? Double shield bash? Picture a knight with two shields?

Thoughts? Love to hear feedback from the community. I know this thread is long, so thanks for taking the time!
