Call me crazy, but when have halflings been known for their great spellcasting ability?

WHy not have their favored classes be rogue or fighter? they've always been good archers and throwers, and it lends to their resourceful nature...

and I would prefer a bonus to INT, over CHA or WIS. Adaptable, resourceful, cunning. Seems like a logical step to me.

Call me crazy (please do), but I always thought that if you have a "search" skill, that encompasses prior knowledge, active studying, and time, I think you could easily combine "appraise" with it.

like... maybe...

Appraise + Search = Investigate (Int)

or something like that. Just adding my two cents. In my opinion, i think they are two different skills with two different ability modifiers. But it doesn't kill me that they changed it.

Heya Frogmantis, welcome to the boards and hope you have a good time here.

If you wait Lilith will be by with cookies:)

And I do so love cookies, and discussing the eating of cookies.

Hey, guys. I think this is my second post. I'm totally new, though I've been playing DnD since about a year or two before 3.0 came out.

I DM and play mostly 3.5 games, and now i'm getting into Pathfinder, which I am very pleased takes everything I love about 3.5 and makes it a bit better. I'm eager to start playtesting the official RPG, and I'm currently running the Rise of the Runelords adventures.

I still haven't found time to play 4.0 (or get involved with a game; most of my friends still play 3.5), but I'm not really all that eager to switch. Not when people are making new material for the game i've been playing.

I think OP has a point, in that its an interesting way to explore the game. I've found some of my most interesting character options following ideas from the Wizards CO board.

That said, it can bring out the best or the worst in the game and its players. I've seen some very intelligent, thoughtful, involved role-players in the CO board; I've also seen the worst.

I wouldn't mind discussing the new rules and options in such a board, but I know for a fact it might bring out the worst in some people. As much as I like the idea, I'd be against bringing it here, as I sort of consider Pathfinder the last of 3.5 (and the best), and I'd rather see it explored in a less messy way.
