Miranda gazes up at the woman speaking, having only a few seconds to absorb all of this before it seems they are tasked with a choice so great it boggles her to think about in its entirety. Don't think of the war, one of her first tutors in the blade had said. Think only of this instant. Parrying this single thrust, and answering it. "....seems to me that the one thing Unity didn't have was any compassion. It was all about... itself, its own survival... anytime it talked about protecting others it really only seemed to be using that as an excuse. It was about fear, really... Logic without any sort of heart." Slowly, Miranda shakes traces of digital dust off her blade, looking over the tiny etched words. She thinks of the coming threat-- if it's real-- and how Unity was willing to justify anything in the name of fighting that threat. She thinks as well of her fellow Taldan nobles, of King Stavian himself, more than willing to let the poor of the nation be burdened with higher taxes to support Stavian's ideas of necessary preparation for war. Wordlessly, Miranda begins to arrange the chits. 1. Compassion
"More'n enough Cruelty so far," she says to nobody in particular, slotting that one in last place. "Ophelia'd agree, I think. Or that poor Cassandalee."

As Marduk's rage fades, Miranda looks down at her own swordwork and blinks, several times, as the figure fades away into nothing. "...I... alright, I did say I was going to stab Unity in the eye, but..." She's momentarily thrown into silence by the sheer scale of what she has done, and stands still a few seconds, wondering just what it is that is quickly fading off her blade... and wondering the niggling question of what if Unity was right... and they are now defenseless... But the Rose is not one for deep introspection, nor pessimism. If the horrible hive creatures come-- why, she has helped to destroy a god, today. The Society will be ready. Her customer grin is back on her face as she shakes silvery nothingness from her blade and turns to the others. "A damned good show, if I say so myself! We explored the Silver Mount, we cooperated just fine," she says, clapping her free hand on Marduk's beefy shoulder, "...and by the gods, I imagine we will have one hell of a report to make. Is everyone alright?" "--er, and who are you?" she asks of the woman who was screaming through half the fight.

5-foot step and full attack. I double-checked all my math this time and I think I might have been giving myself too high a bonus last time, but only by +3. Fueled by the inhuman burn of Marduk's rage, The Rose of Taldor doesn't even come up with a pithy quip-- this time it's all thorns and no petal. She adjusts in the air, stepping down and in to be on par with Unity, and begins to unleash a blur of adamantine... Marduk's fury causes her to abandon defense and go for pure offense. Or maybe that is just her annoyed reaction to the god re-forming. First attack, haste, Confirm #1? Reflex w haste: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (13) + 26 = 39 The Rose merely laughs-- a little maniacally, as the power of Marduk's spell seems to be seizing hold of her. Save for half, and Hugo then heals all of it "You can withstand us? That remains to be seen-- this isn't over! But you don't seem able to put us down either-- why, Hugo already healed me from that cute little pyrotechnic display!" Another ringing laugh. All the same, she blinks as the god manages to get away from her guard, not quite sure how-- but no matter. "You won't be using that spear against any of us," she promises, and dives through the air like a scarlet blur, towards Unity-- aiming the point of her rapier like an arrow to Unity's core. Based on that description it doesn't really sound like that spear and shield are disarmable, unfortunately, or I would prefer to attempt to disarm the spear, if it's literally part of Unity. If it looks like something that is now a seperate item, I'd use this roll for a disarm. As it is, flying charge. Haste blah blah, and the rage: 1d20 + 34 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 34 + 9 = 46
That is an awesome spell, Marduk, if only I could manage to get off a full attack with it :(

Grinning, the swordswoman dives through the air, and into a position slightly above Unity, threatening the would-be god with her blade. "Come, Urko! Together!" "Ouch!" Miranda says with a grimace at taking one shot. She... retaliates in kind, trying to remember her first days of picking up a sword, long ago, her brother's training rapier.... well before she ever had magic to bolster her. Parry, thrust, step.... Defense. Forgot my penalties for combat expertise last time, but since I didn't hit kind of a moot point Attack 1: 1d20 + 18 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 18 - 4 = 17

I think Marduk wouldn't be able to heal me due to the AMF field? But thank you for trying. Miranda grits her teeth some as she feels magic draining from her various bits of gear and finds herself slower as a result, but it doesn't stop her from stepping in to meet the angel and stabbing a handful of times... "....see, now," she says, only a touch shakily, "when I kept asking and asking what the threat was, you might have led with that. But--" Miranda forces herself to stand straight. "However dire the threat is doesn't grant you the right to take control of others, Unity. Sounds like you were made to serve, from that little vision. Not to be a god. I can feel for you, that the orders you got were botched and desperate, but... forcing others to bow to your will doesn't impress me much as an alternative. Who's to say you're not desperate yourself? 'I will survive' sounds plenty desperate. So, aye, we'll stand against you.... and if need be, against those bugs too." You can see what the 'god' did to her in return. "We have to return to deal with this Unity-creature, but, we badly need some rest first ourselves. I don't know if there is anything that can be done for Ophelia here-- her pain-- rather than moving her as little as possible while we try and manage the would-be-god." Full attack if so Attack 1, heroism, combat expertise: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (5) + 23 = 28
Attack 2, heroism, c.e.: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (10) + 18 = 28
Attack 3, heroism, c.e.: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29 Potential critical
Confirm attack 3? Critical focus: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21 Seems doubtful. (As a side note, if the Herald is immune to precision damage, it will take 3 less off all my attacks. AC now 50, will update my stat line.)

Reflex: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (2) + 25 = 27 Woo, not a one. Halves damage to 28, and I have resist fire 30 up. "What'll you do if Choek ever decides Unity's not that great after all?" Miranda challenges, continuing to move towards Ophelia. "Choek seemed indifferent on Unity earlier-- really only doing it for your sake. So what, if he doesn't go along with it, are you going to throw a firestorm on him too? Funny notion, destroying things and people to save them..." Again a single move, again a diplomacy attempt Diplomacy, heroism: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 11 + 2 = 33 ...woo! Doesn't mean it succeeds of course, but still, woo.

Maybe so! So many maps Grimacing at the light singing, Miranda nonetheless sprints into the room, rapier flashing. "You're quick to say children need guidance-- but Unity's not my mother or father," she points out. "I don't see a parent's love here-- unless loving parents discipline their children with flipping kytons. And you don't sound like a child talking of their parent, either, Ophelia-- you sound like a fanatical cultist. Ran into my share of those over the years! Choek says you're a kind person, and protecting him's a good thing to have done, but how do you reconcile that with the things Unity's willing to have serve its 'holy' name?" Single move, using my standard to diplomacize as per specific chances. Most of the fire damage comes off my temp hp Heroic talky?: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 11 + 2 = 18

Okay, I think after halving and resist fire, 14 of that gets through to me. Is the Battle Map you linked above correct? It looks like the computer core fight which I thouuuught we'd done already. I'll act once I know re the map

Miranda placed As Miranda takes up a spot near the door, she takes the few seconds to draw her useful wand of shield and activate it once again on herself, before replacing it and making sure her rapier is drawn.

"Subtle's over-rated," Miranda grins. It's true circuits and glass aren't as satisfying to her as proper foes, but she has a sense that soon things will get... as she'd say... exciting! "The Rose is ready, with her thorns!"

"I can take point if necessary," Miranda says, looking more eager than is necessarily wise at the thought of making herself a target for lasers. "I don't mind seeing who's quicker!" (Not exactly the quickest way to do it, but with a shield wand charge and combat expertise I'm up to low 50s AC, so could theoretically just tank through the attack rolls and eventually dismantle the lasers with my adamantine blade)

Miranda mostly loads things into her pack. She figures that the 'brains' can make sense of all the stars and charts and maps and gewgaws.... though it sure is something to see them all. Makes her think of long ago, when she only dreamt of adventure, long before her days as even a junior Pathfinder agent. "It's a strange world we dwell in, isn't it," she remarks quietly to nobody in particular.

Based on this post here, life bubble is up on everyone (courtesy Urko), cast when arriving at the mount, and should be for another 2 hours (if 2 hours elapsed). Didn't see it on the buff list so just mentioning it. Also, I thought I had a Barkskin +5 on me that the buff list isn't showing (extended via my own rod of extend which I would have been happy to loan whoever was theoretically casting it). I treated all the combats today as if that were active-- I don't remember getting hit for it to make a difference, but, we should confirm or deny whether that one's in play. Would any of our glorious, generous casters who have barkskin have had a free second level slot to spare? Beyond that, the two specific listed buffs in the tracker for me are correct-- extended heroism, and taking part in the group heroes' feast.
